Did not like it. The chicken flautas were more like a burrito filled only with chopped chicken -- plenty of meat, enough to feed two, but pretty bland overall. The carne asada burrito and carne asada torta were also very plain and lacked flavor. Even adding beans or rice, or at least some beans on the torta, would have helped. Speechless was my initial reaction when I took a bite of a piping hot, giant sausage breakfast burrito from La Paloma. The establishment itself is very easy to miss driving through Blythe on a slow Saturday morning drive to Arizona. A hidden gem that is worth the 6+ vehicle packed drive thru line. The quality of ingredients were fresh and tasty. The size of the burrito was incredible and one burrito could easily feed 2 people. My girlfriend order a Carne Asada burrito that left her out for the count more than half way thru. Thank you La Paloma for a wonderful breakfast experience. Service sucked. Employees were beyond rude. It's insulting to see a flyer in the window that practically tells customers " sorry we messed up your order but we really don't care. " I ordered a large amount of food for a group the quesadela barley had cheese, the fries where burnt the food was stuffed in the bag. I literally had to wipe the containers off from the grease and sauce overflowing out of the containers coating the whole inside of the bag. I asked for a side of sour cream and never got it but I was charged shows on the receipt. When I called to see about getting this fixed I was told " bring in the food for proof your not getting a refund or free food. I thought the food here was really good. It seems like a local favorite because I came in at random time like 3-4 in the afternoon on a Saturday and the place had a steady stream of customers dining in, taking out and the good vibes were definitely flowing. There were a few groups inside that had some beer buckets so it seems like a nice place for that kind of activity if you're into that! Plenty of seating inside with a nice salsa bar to get some extra flavor on the side. On to the food, I got a beef taco and a shrimp taco. Both were excellent and highly highly recommended. I needed to get some food while heading to Tucson and ended up crossing paths with La Paloma, and thank the Good Lord I did! It was fairly early and they were open. I walked into a clean and open space with a chihuahua under my arm. There were 2 other folks in line already. The one guy behind the counter was efficient, knowledgeable and handled everything with grace. When it was my turn, I asked for a machaca con juevo plate to go. It was promptly prepared and when it arrived it felt heavy. The machaca was soft and properly cooked. The beans and rice were exactly how i like them. I added some green salsa from the La Paloma salsa bar on top of my meal before i left the place. The prices were pretty normal for today's world. The plate with a drink, i chose Jamaica, was $13.04. Honestly it probably could have fed 2. The food was of the quality that one would get in a traditional, high end, sit down Mexican restaurant but in a fast food format. The only thing missing was the mariachi band. The food was exactly what i had hoped for, delicious. Delicious food! My husband and I have gone here 2-3x/month, before we started Keto/Carnivore way of eating. We don't go out a lot now, but La Paloma (or Albertacos) is where we have gone in the past. For about 3 months we've been doing mostly meat and dairy only, so today we asked if we could order a "SIDE" of Chile Verde and a SIDE of Carne Asada - not a plate, not a huge burrito, and the gal taking the order said "no problem". I took a picture of both containers which looked to be about 3/4 - 1 cup of meat with some cheese sprinkled over the top. When we got to the takeout window the gal hands us our "MEAT ONLY" order and says "$19.14" and I looked inside the bag and said: "WHAT! But it's not a plate with rice and beans or a burrito, it's2 small containers of meat - how could a cup of meat cost $9.55 . . . . EACH!" I was shocked! We will definitely not return while eating this way - besides, Albertacos is way more reasonable with their "sides" of meat. read more
