I don't usually review fast food restaurants but I feel inclined to suggest avoiding this Del Taco (or at least tell others what to expect). While traveling through the area, we stopped here to grab a burrito and use the bathroom. The dining room is super small, very dark and unclean. The hand sanitizer dispenser on the wall was empty and our To Go order came with no napkins. The food prep area had 3 people crammed right next to each other. Our burritos were carelessly wrapped and there were tiny cheese pieces stuck to the wrapper, falling everywhere and making a mess, as we unwrapped the burritos. The bathroom is outside and there was no soap to wash your hands; plus the trash was overflowing onto the floor. There were lots of employees but the demand seems high at this location right off the freeway so perhaps employees are too busy to pay attention to hygiene. read more

Went to door at 8:00 pm door was locked and the big woman that was mopping the floor right next to the door looks at me and turns away so I waited patiently and then after a couple minutes tapped on the window and was totally ignored until I pounded then she said I could go to the drive through. While in the drive through I seen customers walking in! Had the big woman of told us that it would be a few minutes we would have waited as we are traveling and needed to stretch! Dear Del Taco Team Blythe, You guys are #1! Just waited over 3 hrs bumper-to-bumper on the 10 east (on the 5th of July) daydreaming about what I was going to have for lunch. Suddenly the craving for that Del Inferno hit me. We're often skeptical about eating in Blythe, but I must say you guys blew me away!! This is what makes America so great! This is by far the worst Del Taco location I have ever visited. I drive through Blythe once a month along the I-10 and usually stop for food along the way. I love Del Taco and eat at one at least once or twice a month, but this one in Blythe is off the list forever. I will be sure to warn any friends and family about the service, cleanliness (or lack of), and quality of food from this location. I've given it three (3) chances, but now I'm done. To start with, the staff has absolutely no personality. I mean NO PERSONAILITY. I always greet people with a smile and a "Hi" or "Hello", but I get nothing from the staff at this location other than a "welcome to del taco, how may i help you"? in the most monotone or sometimes hurried voice. No eye contact, no expression, and often I'm interrupted before I can finish my order. The staff is mostly female and nobody looks happy to be there. It's like the local prison made a work release deal with Del Taco. I once came through the drive though and saw an infant stroller with a baby in it in the kitchen. Not sure that would be acceptable in any case for any restaurant or fast food joint. Cleanliness of the restaurant is subpar to say the least. Tables are filthy and the ones that are clear of food, look like they were wiped down with a dirty rag. There are no condiments (hot sauces, napkins, etc.) on any table on near the counter. When I asked for napkins for my family (4), I was handed two (2) backup napkins (probably purchased at the gas station) from a stack behind the counter. When I asked for more, I was given a look of annoyance and handed a whopping two (2) more. The bathrooms........well, let's just say you should reconsider using them all together. There's not enough bleach and drain cleaner to fix either one of them. I'd rather piss out by the dumpster or walk across the street to Starbucks and use there's. The food is AWFUL!!! Did I emphasize that enough? My kid's tacos had a 0.025 ounce of meat in the shells and was stuffed with lettuce and sprinkled with a few shreds of cheese. The burritos were blowing out both ends (which made me fear for my end later on that evening) and the crispy fish taco was soft and soggy. There are several better options for Mexican food on Lovekin Blvd., so do yourself a favor and avoid this dump. read more

Having read the awful reviews, I was definitely leery. I used the drive thru so I never stepped inside the place. I also was not able to experience the restroom so I will reserve judgment on that. I usually take my food to go, but have on occasion eaten inside and was impressed with how clean it was. The price can't be beat. I've smelled plenty of disgusting toilets in my life but whats going on here is more like chemical warfare! even plugging your nose and mouth the odor is like the embodiment of a physical "ghost" that immediately climbs between your fingers and into your nose and mouth, even your eyeballs and pores on your skin!! i could take only 20 seconds before trying to exit but there were two bolt locks and i fumbled around for 10 seconds before I could get out with mouthful of throw-up ready to blow! The only logical theory I could come up with is the stink is poured in there on purpose as a brutal deterrent to people wanting to use the toilet so they don't have to clean it up after a full day of visits by thousands of nasty travelers, or its like a portal into the gates of hell! Let's face it, Blythe is the butt crack of CA. Stoping anywhere here is questionable but the next food stop is 90minutes both directions. Yes the bathroom is beyond gross but there are clean rest stops 10 miles before you can use. And a restaurant is typically graded on their food and cleanliness. I had one of the worst experiences of a lifetime tonight at this location. I placed an order for a single taco a moment after the woman asked my what I wanted. No response. I waited 30 seconds and drove to the window. The lady mumbled that it was $18.00 + change. I handed her $20. and I said that I think that's wrong since I only ordered a taco. I hadn't previously heard of this Mexican chain, but if it spurred Will Ferrel to sing, maybe it was worth try. I finally was in Southern California and had my opportunity on a recent car trip. Our toddler chose this special moment to nap during our trip, so we attempted the drive-through. I had too many questions (was there MSG in the food? do you cook with lard?) and wanted the full experience, so I wandered in alone, my husband in the car with our son. I researched the nutrition online before I went, but there was no ingredient list. I'm a nightmare for a fast food clerk, wanting to know if there's MSG in the food. The Del Taco guy asked, "Isn't MSG illegal?" Nope, it just gives me a headache, but it's in lots of stuff. I took the plunge and ordered two Classic Combos (burrito and taco), small fries (surprising that they have that at a supposedly Mexican place, but it made my fry-loving son very happy when he woke up), and chocolate shake. Muy saludable! I liked the taco the best, the burrito was just so-so (I'm not accustomed to salsa in a packet, as opposed to fresh salsa - weird). The super thick shake and fries were pretty good. Luckily I didn't need the bathroom. My husband did, but he watched people flinch and hold their breath before they entered, practically reeling from the stench. He attempted to go in, but couldn't overcome the gag reflex and waited 'til our next stop. A desperate Del Taco fly hitched a ride with us away from the trash outside the bathroom.
