Server Nautika was very friendly and on point. However, employees are running a daycare in the overflow area complete with toys, blankets, etc. Three kids running around SCREAMING at the tops of their lungs. One of them came into the washroom and was banging on the toilet door because "she was playing hide n seek." Food was fine, I guess. It's Denny's so standard fare. But, we hustled to get out of there because of the screaming children. One of the hosts asked us to "leave a good tip" so I asked him if "tips go to the daycare fund" because the meal was miserable. He tried to make it better explaining that nighttime care in Barstow is expensive. Yeeeah pal, and parents could train their children to not scream. read more

We unfortunately broke down driving from CA to Las Vegas in 110 degree heat. We made it to the Denny's parking lot on E. Main in Barstow, and had a good meal and shake while waiting for our tow. Sadly, the tow company bailed on the tow after we waited two hours, and we ended up staying at Denny's for several more hours waiting for another two company. The manager and staff allowed us to stay in the restaurant while waiting. They were kind, understanding and accommodating to stranded travelers who needed an escape from the elements. yes, I got the super slam. It was really good. My eggs was like not cooked to my satisfaction. My bacon was not crispy I had to send them back. Otherwise everything was delicious. I was just told that military discount was only seventy five cent. Only because the discount is already on the menu mmmmm with the super slam something to think about in order from the menu. This Denny's is so amazing! It was not too crowded when we stopped by for dinner on Saturday. We were passing through town and decided to have a quick bite before resuming our drive. There were plenty of parking spaces. As we entered, we were greeted and acknowledged right away. Out waitress was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of, even our little ones. We had the t-bone steak with onion rings and Mac n cheese, the full order of nachos with jalapenos on the side, and a cup of chicken noodle soup (soup of the day). The food is pretty consistent with other Denny's that we've had, BUT service here is on a different level. The staff were friendly and the place is kept neat and well decorated! read more

This is the second time that this has happened to me and my family. Night crew customers service suck. We ask to be seated and the lady's in front seem to be annoyed at the fact that we arrive two hours before closing. Always mentioning that they close at 12, we were very aware of that. When we got to our table, they proceeded to ignore us and took awhile to get to us, keep in mind there was probably only two tables around us. The first time our server gave this attitude about taking our order and proceeded to another table order before us. We were ready to give her our drink order and food. The second time, the lady in front seems like she didn't want to be there and gave us attitude. It just seems like the night crew don't want to serve people. They need to work on their customer service skills more. read more

I got to the register the cashier had no idea what I was talking about she confirmed with the manager. The -WORST- Denny's I've been to! The Fried Fish Platter with red-skinned potatoes was entirely BURNED to a dark-brown/almost black color. We normally expect a golden-brown color.
