The service here was horrible. Cracker Barrel is known for good food and customer service but this restaurant here lacks both. Our waitress was non existent and no where in sight. I had to get up twice to go and ask for service at the retail section. When I spoke to the manager she was nice yet I felt unheard. She looked at me as if I was asking for a free meal and genuinely I was just being honest. Restaurant service needs to get it together. I even had to ask if my meal came with bread in which it did and I wouldn't have received it if I didn't ask for it. No refills either, not sure why service was so bad on an empty Wednesday. The restaurant was clean and cool on a hot day. As a customer service manager I see that staff and management need more training. The retail part of the restaurant was excellent and super apologetic and helpful, thank you. read more

Background: I'm an avid roadtripper and have never been to a Cracker Barrel in over 100 trips even though I would always see them at roadside exits. Until now. And I'm a new fan of an old favorite! The food is old timey, country style cooking. It never occurred to me until I tried it but this is the style of cooking that those tv dinners try to emulate, but this food is so much better. It won't win any culinary awards but the portions are huge, food is rib-stickingly satisfying, and it's a guarantee that you'll leave completely full and very likely with leftovers for the next day. The prices are pretty fair too- it was about $20 for a full dinner w 3 sides and 2 biscuits, which was about the same cost but twice the food as the meager fast food option I got the day prior. Made a visit to Victorville just to dine here. Pancakes were great, I like them both blueberry and pecan, the syrup that came with in a cute little bottle was warm and delicious. Eggs were fresh and bacon was done right, crispy and light. I didn't like the fried steak, but I did enjoy the meatloaf. Meatloaf was seasoned well. I have long wanted to visit a Cracker Barrel and my two primary options in the LA are the locations in Rialto and Victorville. On my last road trip to Las Vegas, I made the decision to stop for brunch in Victorville. It is essential to reserve a table online at the CB website. I did so about 30 minutes in advance and, when I arrived, was shown to my table almost immediately. The restaurant was startingly packed and I was so thankful that I had made a reservation in advance. The menu is so large that it can be hard to pick. We settled on the Country Fried Chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, as well as the Shrimp Plate with fries, fried apples, and hashbrown casserole. Three of us shared these plates. With the complimentary bread basket of corn muffins and biscuits, it was more than enough food. Service was very warm and cordial. Staff try very hard to be friendly but I did feel like food was slow to come out. I liked that portions were big and there are a lot of options on the menu. The food is southern/comfort food so some of it was a bit heavy for me. As for the food, I wished we didn't order two fried entrees, but that was our decision. We got to try all the sides I really wanted - the fried apples, which tasted like apple pie filling, and the hashbrown casserole, which are loaded hashbrowns with bacon and cheese. We were pleasantly surprised by the light seasoning on the green beans. For the mashed potatoes, they let us try both brown gravy and white gravy and white is the way to go. The brown tasted like it was from a packet. Nothing wowed me, but I was satisfied with the homey meal and glad I got the sit in the rocking chairs out front. read more

Ordered Cracker Barrel delivery and, even though I'm not usually a big breakfast food person, the hobo skillet did not disappoint. It had a good mix of ingredients and was filling. I ate it when it arrived and again later, and it still held up well both times. Definitely plenty of food for the price. We went in during a holiday and surprisingly we were seated pretty fast. Even though the place was crowded, we were given a comfortable table for seven, which was a nice start to our visit. My family actually arrived before me, so by the time I got there they had already ordered and had their drinks on the table. Once I sat down, it felt like our server was extremely busy. When she came to take our orders, there was a bit of an intimidating vibe, like we needed to order quickly because she had a lot going on. I usually like to ask for recommendations, but when I did she mentioned that she was new and did not really know what to suggest. I was originally going to order the country fried steak, but I noticed the two meals for $19.99 deal for two people and decided to switch it up. We ended up getting the cinnamon roll skillet along with the Old Timer's breakfast, which came with two sausages, eggs, hashbrowns, and biscuits. We also ordered the crispy homestyle chicken with sides of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Everything was delicious and the price was honestly a great deal. I was especially impressed with the fried chicken because I usually am not a big fan of fried chicken, but this one was really good. The portions were generous too and we ended up with leftovers. For drinks, I had a hot chocolate mixed with coffee. It was good at first, but after a while it became a bit too sweet. The orange juice was also a little sour. Overall, the food was excellent and while the service experience was just okay, it would not stop us from coming back. Extremely slow service with only a few tables with diners. My fried chicken arrived way overcooked. It was not edible. I asked for a manager and she agreed to have the kitchen prepare two more chicken breasts. Twenty minutes later I asked another server for my check and to skip the chicken. I agreed to pay for my two sides which were good. The manager then came out and asked if I received the chicken. Nope. She offered to bag it to go. No thank you. I won't be back...ever. read more

First time in awhile ordering Takeout from Cracker Barrel. We normally dine in for breakfast and absolutely LOVE their pancakes. Dinner was unimpressive. My husband wanted the Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes (brown gravy on the side) and green beans. The sides were the only things that tasted fresh. The chicken, was precooked, too breaded and reheated. My husband also wanted all dark meat, but the guy said he couldn't because it came in a bag? He ended up eating the two dark pieces and throwing the others away. I ordered the Rainbow Trout, broccoli and although I ordered a Sweet Potato, they gave me a white potato with everything. The trout was dry and not very flavorful. I threw the 2nd filet away. The Broccoli was delicious and cooked to perfection. The potato was a potato and not what I wanted. I won't be ordering dinner from Cracker Barrel again, however, I will still do dine in breakfast on occasion. read more

Went here with the hubby for date night when we were in the area. It was actually my first time to a Cracker Barrel. As you enter the restaurant they have an area with various type of merch and as you head to the left, is the restaurant portion. We were seated pretty quickly as we went up to the hostess. The dining area was nice and large and the menu choices is such a wide variety. I ordered their Daily Dish, which was their Honey Butter Southern Fried Chicken while the hubby ordered a cheeseburger. Portions are generous that I had to bring back leftovers. Everything was made to order. Burger was huge while the chicken had a sweetness to its fried goodness with the honey drizzled on top. Our server was the sweetest and pretty darn quick with anything we needed. This place left a great impression on me and would love to come back if given the chance. I love breakfast and this is a great breakfast spot. Cracker Barrel had a store connected to the restaurant. It's great to walk around and see all the things they have. The best part was our server. She was awesome. She made dining here even better. They have a big parking lot where you can park at. As much as I enjoy Cracker Barrel breakfast any other time this was not it. I will say the fish was fried decent. The grits tasted old for some reason. Like they used old water. They had a very weird distinct taste. The apples again tasted old they were not naturally mushy like when you usually cook apples. And if you're from the south or have family from the south you know that these are not real fried apples. These are more like stewed apples but again not even stewed because they have no juice they're just dry. They just did not taste right. So they got sent back to the kitchen. The hush puppies were still a little bit raw inside and doughy. I don't know if it's because I came later in the day around the early evening that everything else wasn't fresh. This is not my first time coming to this Cracker Barrel and I will give them another chance. read more

Disappointing, to say the least. My husband ordered the Louisiana Shrimp Skillet, and it completely missed the mark. The rice seemed like it came from the bottom of the pot--overcooked and hard. The skillet itself wasn't even hot, which made me question the point of serving it that way. The shrimp were extremely overcooked and tasted like they had just been reheated with sauce poured on top. Worst of all, they had a freezer-burned taste. On a brighter note, my own dish was enjoyable, and our server, Sonia, provided outstanding service. Our servers were very nice but I think they were understaffed or perhaps more preoccupied with the larger groups around us.
