The tour was very enlightening and detailed to the science of making of liquor in which was the reason I took the tour. Everyone in the shop was very informative and seemed to take great pride in there product. But if I'm at the place that make the liquor it should be a little less costly. read more

This is a very small Distillery-- The owner will give you a "tour" with your tasting for free, but keep in mind the "tour" is literally sitting around with him in the middle of the room explaining his process. It's still kinda cool, but don't expect to see a lot of things. As far as their actual liquor goes, I found their brandy too sweet, but I'm also not really a brandy drinker and I didn't like the gin. The vodka was very smooth. The bourbon was pretty tasty, too. They make some cocktails with their various spirits in the main room, but you can also ask for something not listed (as long as it's made with their liquor!). We stopped here after a hike at Storm King and fell in love! Kieran and Susan (sorry about spelling if i butchered them) were so friendly, fun and knowledgeable. We sat and sampled the Maid of The Mist, Gin, and Whiskey. They were very very good. I loved the Vodka infused with the herbs and such - to die for. We then had Kieran made us a couple cocktails, A Whiskey Sour for my honey and the name of mine I cannot remember but it had fresh brewed tea and vodka with some other ingredients. We throughly enjoyed our stop here and they gave us some great recommendations for good beers and a dinner spot. We will most definitely be back when in the area. read more

Love this place. Mostly because it's local and still keeps that feel, but offers great cocktails and spirits for decent prices. Mark is a fantastic bartender, if you ever get to see him, and he is also good at conversation and keeping things light. They always have music events and I'm hearing about an upcoming chili cook-off soon as well - super fun to stop in and hang out for a short minute or a few hours. Good spirits, bad cocktails unfortunately. The man in the tasting room was great and entertaining! However the issue began when we moved from the tasting room to the cocktails. They all look great on the menu but are not made as described. I got the miles davis, which says it has lemon juice, but it's actually a sour mix. It was soooo sweet it was honestly disgusting. I asked for one with less sour mix (because it says lemon juice not sour mix) and they would not make a different one. My partner's cocktail was also very weak. The cocktail ingredients are not as advertised. Good maid of the meadow vodka and blueberry gin (on its own) though. Probably best to take it home and make your own cocktail. read more

Great little place. There was live music and all of the drinks were good. We got a "tour" of the distillery from our seat, which was very interesting and educational. The only thing is that it was quite chilly, so I recommend taking a thicker jacket just in case. read more

Such a great place for some tasting, detail info on how to distil AND a drag show in the evening!! 3 tastings for 5 dollars - a serious measure too! We arrived at 4.15pm and did some tasting and listened to how Bourbon and whiskey is made. We also got to smell various jars of 'tails' and 'hearts'. We had a few drinks at the bar from a lovely young woman with cool style! We came back at 7.30pm for the drag Queen - Pissi Myles. They had popcorn, more drinks and the lights turned down with cute fairy lights. Very cute. What a show too - wow she can sing!! And was a good balance between banter and comedy! In awe of her ability to be so exposed and open up there! Except for the annoying Bryan who dares speak when she did lol. We had the Best time in Beacon!! read more

Went there for a tasting. Tried vodka, Dennings White Rye Whisky (pretty much smooth moonshine), and Beacon American Whiskey. Liked them all, in fact I'm not a big vodka fan but enjoyed that, too. Took home a bottle of rye, enjoying it quite a bit neat. The owners run the joint and they are very friendly, informed, and interesting. You can also do a tasting for $5- totally worth it. I'd definitely reccomend stopping by if you're in beacon- it's right off Main Street. read more

Nice place as far as distilleries go. We did the tasting - Maid of the Meadow is a delicious, Meade-like vodka, the bourbon is solid and smooth, and the Big 9 Gin is like Willie Wonka's flavor-changing gum (in a good way - I usually hate gin). The other spirits were okay, the bartender-guy seemed nice and the girl running the tasting room was friendly and informative. Solid stop on a casual weekend walk through town. read more

This place is awesome. You get to look at a bunch of tanks that presumably hold alcohol and sit at tables that are, if you look closely, upside-down barrels. My boyfriend lives in pleasant valley and on the way back to my place in the bx we always pass the beacon exit. I had been nagging him to go with me after visiting years ago and falling in love. Finally we went. We ended up here and fell in love with the amazing zero hangover drinks and live music. We now make it a point to visit every month. We got to visit recently for an interactive class on how he makes his spirits. Every thing that comes out of here is delicious, even the free popcorn. After the class and questions from everyone the live music began. He picks the best talent and they even let people come up and jam with the bands. It's so cool, we were so comfy and warm, full off delicious popcorn and amazing drinks we didn't want to leave. The owner gave us an excellent recommendation for Italian food and we had to make it before they closed. Their gin is amazingly unique! My fiancee's new favorite. I usually don't like gin, but theirs is a total exception! Their whiskey and vodka get two thumbs up from both of us as well. The owners are so friendly and extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of their processes. The only downside is the tasting was a little underwhelming because of some weird NY laws that limit you to only being allowed to taste 3 different types of alcohol at like an eighth of an ounce each. read more
