We've eaten here in the past (before joining Yelp) and always enjoyed it so I was in the mood to eat here again last night. Big mistake this time. Our waitress was not enthusiastic nor friendly - we felt like she really didn't want to be there. (Perhaps she didn't - I don't always want to be at work but you have to do what you have to do - including smiling at the customers.) We started with the calamari which we both enjoyed very much. It's in a tangy lemon sauce with hot banana peppers so it's a bit soggy and needs to be eaten with a fork but I used the bread that the waitress brought to scoop up every drop! (Unfortunately the waitress hovered over me while I finished the appetizer and even made a comment "I'm afraid to take it from him" while I was still soaking up the sauce.) The entrees were not as good as the calamari though. The Veal Oscar was saucy but came with potato - either wedges or fries. Strange since pasta would have been perfect with it. Perhaps a substitute could have been made but we didn't ask. The asparagus in the dish was apparently fresh but thin and stalky. I had to spit my bit out since it was inedible. Even the asparagus in the supermarkets is thin and woody this year so at what point do you remove an item temporarily from the menu because it sucks. The Seafood Baltimore was equally disappointing. I felt it was a bit overcooked and bland. The side of pasta was bland as well - the sauce could have used more seasoning. Salt, pepper and Parmesan (which tasted freshly grated) helped. I think our biggest complaint was with the waitress, which was the only one serving the dining area. We both really felt uncomfortable with her The bar attendant appeared friendly and the patrons there looked like they were enjoying themselves so maybe next time we'll sit there - but not order the same entrees as they weren't worth the $18 we paid for them.. read more

I was there earlier in the year and the food and service were both less than desirable. Fortunately, I used a gift certificate so I didn't pay full price for the torture. The food was average to fair. The Chicken Quesadilla and Chicken Parmesan were overcooked. The Escarole was salty and served in what I would call a deep plate, not exactly a bowl. It got cold well before we were half finished and it was hard to spoon it out of the plate. The rolls were not fresh, but frozen, according to our server. We had to ask for more and were informed it would be a while because the only ones left were still frozen. We originally wanted salad with our entrees, but were informed that the only "free" dressings were French, Russian, Creamy Italian, and Oil & Vinegar; anything else (including Ranch and Bleu Cheese) would be 75 cents extra. Two tomato slices on a cheese steak added 80 cents to the bill, which we were not told about in advance, or at all. We only noticed it when we looked at the check. Only after I got home and looked at the restaurant's website and online menu did I notice that Sunday is 1/2 price appetizer day. We didn't get that deal. Were we supposed to ask for it specifically? Oh, and our server joked that the restrooms were "tripled" in size during the renovations. Seriously? I could barely move in there and I am NOT a large person. In addition, we had to ask our server repeatedly for more napkins. There were five of us there including three children. The first time, she brought five napkins. The second time, she brought three. Really? That's all you can spare? And I realize it was prime football time (I AM a fan) with the Packers at Chicago in the NFC playoffs, but the TVs were WAY too loud. We could barely hear each other talking, and the server definitely had a problem hearing us. The TVs on the "dining" side could have been turned down just a bit. Overall, the food, service and prices were a huge disappointment. The atmosphere would have been a lot better if we could have heard each talking without having to yell. After responding to a survey about my experience (from the gift certificate website) I received an email from the owner/manager offering me some incentive to return. I declined. Great neighborhood spot. Checked it out after the remodel/grand reopening, and it was awesome! We had the mussels in red sauce, French onion soup and the eggplant sticks. Everything came out hot and it was so delicious. DeMarco's is the perfect local spot for good eats in a relaxed environment. read more

I had the Chicken DeMarco which was just ok, my son had the wings, how they think that Buffalo I'm not sure. But the worst was the HORRIBLE lobster Mac and cheese that had a NASTY smell when you opened it! Couldn't eat the $14 app that came in the smallest container ever! My husband also got the Lobster and Shrimp Risotto. The shrimp were great but again the lobster that was mixed in with the Risotto smelled a little strange. We order Uber Eats. Food came in a reasonable time but was still room temperature. I've ordered from other places from Uber eats that's farther then them and it comes piping hot! Not a happy customer! Very disappointed. This place is amazing! It's so great to have it back. After a year and a 1/2 of being closed they are finally open again. The place looks incredible, they added more tvs and opened the place up. It was always a great place to gather with friends and watch the game while getting some good food and drinks and now it's even better. For anyone who has never been I strongly recommend it. read more

DeMarco's had been a favorite place of mine to grab a quick bite to eat or hang with some friends drink few beers and watch the game. Unfortunately, back in 2014 it was damaged in a fire that resulted in DeMarco's having to close. Thankfully, the owners were committed to reopening DeMarco's and finally after battling with insurance companies and remodeling the whole bar DeMarco's will reopen on 3/23/16. I was there picking up a take out order the cook pulled out a head of romaine lettuce unwashed cut the lettuce on the cutting board. Took the shrimp off the grill and placed it where he just cut the unwashed lettuce. Then proceeds to finish the taco. Don't they realize that people are getting sick from lettuce. read more

My girlfriend stopped in on Saturday night for dinner I had the chicken DiMarco she had the chicken Parham both were very delicious great atmosphere fantastic viewing of the TVs. Service was very excellent our waitress was Barbra she was fantastic, we will be back. read more

Very nice neighborhood place to grab a bite to eat and have a drink. Not fancy, but not a dive either. They have a huge beer selection. Micro brews from around America. Menu consists of interesting twists on hot sandwiches, to pizza, to more expensive Italian fare. Something for everyone. The wait staff is always friendly, and very accomodating. According to Yelpers, DeMarco's has shut down and I'm actually surprised! I have only been here a few times but have never had a bad experience. I went here to celebrate my 21st birthday and had a blast! My husband and some friends went here for one of their game nights and had a good time. However, I don't think I have ever eaten here, so maybe that contributes to my good experiences here. Now that they have closed down, I guess we will never know. read more

Sandy bottom pizzas and double fried wings. Best in delco! All of their food is fantastic as well. Our favorites are cheese steak dip appetizer and the chicken Demarco entree. They have great management and great customer interaction. Newly remodeled after a bad fire and looks phenomenal. Highly recommended ! I ordered The Chalutch Pizza last Saturday night. White Pie with a Sundried Tomato Cream Sauce. Topped with Spinach & Grilled Flank Steak. I was hard pressed to find any flank steak. And a white pie should be loaded with garlic. The crust itself was good. We started with Lobster Mac N Cheese. Yea. No. Barely any lobster and there was just no seasoning. The cheese sauce was a mess. My husband ordered the Cheesesteak pizza and he said it was awful. At $80, we will choose more wisely when going in there. Stick with basics. read more

My fiance took me here for my birthday dinner, neither of us had ever been there, and we had a great time! The waitress was so polite and helpful. Everything she suggested we ordered, and it was great. We had the eggplant sticks as appetizer and they were amazing! And our dinner was so good. Overpriced food and a sweaty dining room. We used to eat here almost weekly but moved from the area and hadn't been here in a while...sad when you realize that going back sometimes isn't a good idea. This was the third time we went back after we moved and it wasn't a charm...the two previous times it was mediocre at best. The hostess was nice and upbeat, however, the place was hot, no air conditioning at all on a sticky summer night. It's Friday night and the place was empty...except the bar. That should have been a sign for us to leave, but my son loves one of their signature dishes, Chicken Bennetti, so we stayed. We ordered our dinner and the rolls and butter came to the table...thanks for the stale bread and the little bit of butter for them. Then the salads came out...right out of a bag. Very uninspired, but it's just a small house salad. Are there tomatoes in the summer? Thanks for the two see thru slices of cucumber. My husband wanted an appetizer...he was very hungry from not eating all day, so he ordered the $9.00 Italian Quesadilla...very overpriced and not very good, a few peppers and spinach with cheese in flour tortillas...I guess the cheese makes it Italian? Finally dinner arrived (took very long). My husband had ordered the steak, it was the special...it was a thin sliver of overcooked meat with a pile of onions on top. It came with sweet potato fries which he left on the plate and told the hostess they were horrible. (by the way, you'd think she may have questioned him about what he said, but she didn't) I tasted one (big fan of sweet potato fries) and they were awful! The were cold, and hard in spots where they were undercooked. They had rotted spots on the outer skin also. and they were loaded with salt...actually, this was the only thing that came to the table with seasoning. I had their signature dish, Chicken Demarco and it wasn't the way it used to be at all....no flavor, chicken was tough in spots and swimming in water underneath. The pasta was very overcooked and clumped together. It was terrible and this is their signature dish. My son was happily eating his food and not saying anything. The best thing was the Sam Adams Octoberfest that they had on tap....Three down and $96.00 later, we left and will never go back....Good bye Demarco's! read more

my experience there this past sunday 4 "eagles football" was "outstanding" the bartender / waitress was fabulous! constantly bringing my son refills of water + checking on us! we started out with 2 appetizers: cheesteak eggrolls + pizza: both were delicious / at halftime my son ordered the "crabcake sandwich + ff"! comple crabcake, no filler. josh enjoyed his very much! i had mussels + pasta! mussles were cooked 2 perfection + all were large size! what a great oiting + "make memories" the only "down" = eagles lost! we will surely b back 4 another "eagles sunday" thank u 2 all! bobby read more

I was a new customer to this establishment and at first was very impressed with the atmosphere and the food. I liked it so much, I raved to my daughter that she needs to try it. We stopped in for dinner one Friday evening. I was surprised to see that the place was pretty empty for a Friday night. We took a seat at a table in the back. Our appetizer had just arrived when to our dismay my daughter and husband noticed a mouse dart out into the middle of the floor. Now, I'm not stupid....I'm aware that most restaurants we all eat in have some sort of rodent issue, however, we generally do not witness this as we are eating our food. We immediately brought this to our waitress' attention and asked to be moved to the front of the restaurant by the bar to a high top. She said, "absolutely" however, she did not seem at all surprised by the fact that we had just spotted a mouse which makes me believe she was already aware of the problem. Low and behold, as we were sitting there, we saw at least six different mice darting around the front of the restaurant. I had it at that point! I left the restaurant quickly through the open front doors leaving my husband and daughter to take care of the check for the food that we ordered. Once they came out to the car, my daughter told me that as she was stepping down from the high top, there was a mouse right under her foot under the table. This place is INFESTED to the point where the mice aren't even afraid to be out with the music and people around. Needless to say, My daughter could not believe her experience after how much I raved to her about the food. Two of my best friends aren't from Philadelphia area and keep complimenting the wings. My friend ordered their barbeque wings and were equally good in quality. I live in Delaware county, and eat at home or in the city. That said, this was a great experience! We sat at the bar, were welcomed warmly and approached quickly. We ordered apps, clams casino and "nachos italiano" followed by a hot and spicy pizza. I asked to have the fried peperoni on one side of the nachos, as I am pescetarian and my partner is not, at which time the bartender pointed out there is bacon on the clams casino. He offered to have the kitchen prepare baked spicy clams (not on the menu) instead for me - gee thanks yes! The nachos were a new twist - marinara on the side with melted italian cheese, roasted peppers, spinach and banana pepper slices on the chips - not bad but wouldn't write home about them - and the baked clams were very flavorful. The hot and spicy pizza (white pizza with spinach, tomatoes, mozzerella, and banana pappers)- served with four shakers; parmesan, flavored garlic powder, italian herbs, and crushed red pepper flakes, was THE BOMB! I will return for this! It was (Wednesday) half off specialty martini night, so I had a tequila martini for desert - reminicent of a tequila sunrise - which lived up to its promise :) read more

What is with the older blonde waitress with the attitude? After going on Facebook, I discovered that we are not the only ones who will no longer go to DeMarcos. We ordered iced tea and waited 10 minutes for her to bring the sugar after having a conversation advising us that the sweetened tea would need sugar. When we had a question about the different wing sauces, she said snarkily, "I have no idea." My son said thank you to her repeatedly and it was like he wasn't even there. She made us feel stupid at every turn. Because I had a coupon from Restaurants.com they added the 18% gratuity or she would have gotten a 10% tip. read more

My wife and I were in on friday for Valentines Day. Everything was INCREDIBLE. She had the Chicken Marsala and I had the Ribeye special. To be honest I was a little concerned walking in based on the front of the building but wow were we impressed. The place was clean and intimate (bar was crowded but not too loud). The marsala was different then any we have had before (Theresa said theirs is a marsala cream sauce) and the ribeye was so tender I was blown away. We stopped down the bar for an after dinner drink and the "regulars" were so friendly (and informed us we have to try the pizza). We most certainly will be back and check out the pizza. read more

Let me start by saying this was my second visit here. The first visit my daughter and I ordered and there were issues with not having ingredients for our initial selection. Not a good experience but thought we would give it another try. I also read another HORRIBLE review but thought maybe it was just a bad day all around for everyone in that case. We generally are not hard to please but this was truely the worst ever. **This visit was a birthday celebration with a terrible experience. Six of us were dining and made it an early afternoon visit due to the impending snowstorm and we had a long drive back home before the weather got bad. My husband and I made a 2+ hour drive to the Philly area to celebrate our daughter's birthday with family. We arrived shortly after noon on Sunday 3/2/2014. We were surprised to find only one other table of diners in the entire place. We were seated and the menus were brought shortly afterward. The waitress came and took drink orders, brought them back and proceeded to take our order. After AT LEAST 25 minutes we finally received the salads. After salads were finished, we received a basket of COLD dinner rolls. And we wait...and wait...and wait. After another 20 minutes pass, the waitress returns and informs me that they would not be able to make the Pasta Delmar (which she recommended) that I ordered because they did not have the mussels or the clams for that dish. I said fine, give me the Chicken Demarco. Keep in mind that we were expecting to have food at this point. So we wait again. Ten minutes later a cook comes out from the kitchen to inform me.....that he could not make the Pasta Delmar because he did not have the exact clams. I told him that I had already ordered a second choice with the waitress. So we wait again. Now it is getting comical. At this point, we are the only guests in the entire place. Nobody at the bar. We only ever saw one waitress/bartender. NOW ANOTHER 15 minutes....or more! Still no freaking food. My husband ordered the spaghetti with crabmeat, the waitress returns to tell us that now they can't make his entrée either because they don't have any crabmeat!!!! What kind of restaurant are they running here? Seriously!! Unbelievable. So he says, just give me spaghetti and meatballs. Ten minutes later we had food. The Chicken Demarco that I ordered was cold which at that point there was no way I was sending it back. The Chicken & Asparagus Alfredo, very bland. Hot wings came with hot sauce on the side. Not coated like typical hot wings would be. After our food came out, the cook left via the front door three times within 5 minutes and after the third time never returned. It took forever to get our bill and boxes to take food home with us. Keep in mind, we were still the ONLY people in the place. Never another customer the rest of the entire time we were there. Thank goodness the COMPANY was great because the restaurant SUCKED! Very Disappointed and didn't appear to be anyone to even complain to. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!! read more
