I used to take all my suit/shirt alterations to Chicago but my guy left so I figured I would give Ruby a shot. So far they have been just as good as my guy in Chicago. My requests are not normal, and so far Ruby has delivered and surprisingly the prices for my difficult requests are more than reasonable. I have not used them for dry cleaning just yet but I may switch this as well.

I had an extremely frustrating experience at Ruby Cleaners outlet; Naperville. I brought in 10…read moreitems for dry cleaning, and when I went to pick them up, all 10 garments were shoved into a single, see-through bag with just one tie at the top. When I asked for the garments to be bagged individually to keep them properly protected, they refused unless I paid an extra 10¢ per bag. After already paying around $50 for the service, having the manager, Siraj Patel, argue with me over a few cents was completely absurd. His attitude throughout the entire interaction was exceptionally rude and unhelpful. Between the lazy packaging, nickel-and-diming over pennies, and terrible customer care, they clearly do not value their customers or respect their clothing. I don't recommend to use them.

I would give this four stars, because they do a fine job (no shirt vandalism, or at least it's…read moresmall and inconspicuous as it should be), it's just a tad expensive. For example, silk/cashmere sweaters (not as fancy as they sound) are more than $6 to have cleaned - that seems like plenty to me. But price aside, pants have a sharp crease, buttons aren't broken, and service is quick. Plus they're walking distance from the house.

Second visit took several items and picked up 2 days later. Wore a pair of pants to work but they didnt fit right and length was up to my ankles. Couldn't figure out problem. Did they shrink. Looked at the label and realized they were not my pants. Took them back and told them problem and that I want my pants. I was told they'd have to check orders and would call me. They never called. I went in with my purchase receipt since they were new pants and the first time I took to cleaners..I wanted to be reimbursed. They would not reimburse me and told me the wrong pants had to be my pants. I said they weren't....why would I lie about that. I was told they wouldn't reimburse me. They said they needed at least 2 weeks to figure out problem. I'm furious at fact that 2 out of 2 times I had such awful service after I gave them a second chance after the first mistake....and bad business they won't even remedy their mistake by reimbursing me for my new pants!
