I don't understand the low reviews, DeLucas deserves 10 stars. Tucked away into the back of an adorable little market is a deli serving up fresh sandwiches & wraps. The smell upon entering the market is divine, you can smell all the fresh meats from the deli area reminiscent of what it smells like in the house on Thanksgiving day while the turkey is roasting. Do yourself a favor and get 2 chicken Caesar wraps (1 to eat now and 1 to eat later). We ordered a chicken Caesar wrap & a build your own turkey on sourdough. The turkey was solid, but the real star was the chicken Caesar wrap... the lettuce is freshly shaved and CRISP, the Caesar dressing is homemade garlicky gold, the chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned, the Parmesan is freshly grated. You can tell the ingredients are quality & simple - 2 things I very much love. We are from out of state and I'm going to be dreaming about the wrap. There is a little seating area with plenty of chairs to eat in house next to a cute decorated piano & the service was very friendly & fast. For the actual market section - everything was neat, organized, and aesthetically pleasing with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, snacks, chips, and to go food/drink items. DeLuca's is located close to the nearby commons/public gardens if you need a delicious fresh lunch and want to picnic :)

This market is adorable and they sell Teuacher champagne truffles from Switzerland. They are to die for. Love shopping in Beacon hill for quirky Christmas gifts!

I came to Dealuca's for a free wine tasting. They had 4 options, as well as a whiskey. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would certainly come back! Also important to note that the wine area is a bit hard to find, but they have a great selection.

Mice poop! That turned this foodie's stomach!

A little bit of everything in this corner grocery, even a deli with good sandwhiches.

It harkens to a bygone era of Italian grocers with such authenticity, today it conveys an almost suspiciously genuine quality. It's as though I'm on the set of a movie as local shoppers briskly enter the shop & point to which hanging salamis and hand-shaped pastas they want to take home. Due to a condition (living in Tennessee), I'm only able to have the chicken Parmesan sandwich here about once a year. It's a sandwich I reminisce about with my family and work into conversations with friends and strangers alike. The bread is fresh and chewy, the sauce bright and acidic, and the chicken lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and tender. You can taste each ingredient in every bite. Every element is perfectly executed in its own right, yet somehow made even better in harmony. Recently while devouring my third of the massive sandwich, a little chicken cutlet tumbled to the ground. I'm talking: the GROUND. Outside. Pavement. When no one was looking, I slyly dipped down, picked it up, and ate it. I'm not necessarily proud of this action, but I'm also not ashamed. If you didn't believe the 5 Second Rule before Bricco, let the chicken Parmesan sandwich convert you. Taste and see!

The bakery is cash only and sells a variety of breads: baguettes, ciabatta, sourdough, & olive bread. In addition to the sfogliatelle, they sell muffins, croissants, and focaccia and muffins. The sfogliatelle was pretty good, the pastry was crispy and flaky and the lemon ricotta filling was very rich and creamy. I would've loved to have a couple loaves of the bread, but there was no way I was going to be able to bring it home as I was already maxed out with my carry ons!

The inside is pretty small so make sure you get a reservation ahead of time. In the warmer months you can sit outside but we sat at the bar since it was too cold outside and the regular seating was all booked up. The bar seating is tight so beware if you have a big jacket or bag with you! We ordered the celery Cesar, cavatelli, and margarita pizza. The celery Cesar was interesting. It's literally thin pieces of celery tossed in Cesar dressing. It immediately reminded me of the small side you get when you order buffalo wings -- not exactly in a good way. The cavatelli was delicious and perfect to split. My friend and I split the salad, pasta and pizza which was great. The portions were just right and this meant for an inexpensive dinner for each of us which you love to hear. The margherita pizza was good but nothing that'll blow you away. The slices are tinyyyy though. My friend took home the pizza leftovers (2 slices) but we almost left them on the plate because that's how small they were. All in all it was a cute spot and I'd be interested in trying other menu items!
