    Fantastic BLT

This is a little market near Boston common park. For being such a small place it is packed with groceries and fresh fruits and veggies and cheeses and premade goodies and salads. They also make sandwiches and breakfasts to order. I had a fantastic BLT made to order with whatever additions I desired. They also made a delicious smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with all the fixins. And the prices were the lowest I've seen in anywhere. They have a few tables where you can enjoy the yummy offerings. I highly recommend if you want quick eats with great service.

DeLuca's is definitely charming, and after living in the area for a couple years now, I figured I should finally give it a try. Not only do they sell freshly made food and sandwiches here, it's also a mini supermarket with moderately expensive prices. For Beacon Hill, it's not surprising. I was craving a chicken caesar wrap and was happy to see they had one on the menu! The line to order was a bit confusing and chaotic, but I eventually got the attention of a worker and ordered my food. After a few minutes, it was ready and I brought it up to the front to pay. The sandwich itself was really nothing special at all. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great and I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. The caesar dressing taste wasn't my favorite and the chicken was slightly dry, but I appreciated the amount of greens in the wrap! I wish I asked for it to be grilled but lesson learned.

I don't understand the low reviews, DeLucas deserves 10 stars. Tucked away into the back of an adorable little market is a deli serving up fresh sandwiches & wraps. The smell upon entering the market is divine, you can smell all the fresh meats from the deli area reminiscent of what it smells like in the house on Thanksgiving day while the turkey is roasting. Do yourself a favor and get 2 chicken Caesar wraps (1 to eat now and 1 to eat later). We ordered a chicken Caesar wrap & a build your own turkey on sourdough. The turkey was solid, but the real star was the chicken Caesar wrap... the lettuce is freshly shaved and CRISP, the Caesar dressing is homemade garlicky gold, the chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned, the Parmesan is freshly grated. You can tell the ingredients are quality & simple - 2 things I very much love. We are from out of state and I'm going to be dreaming about the wrap. There is a little seating area with plenty of chairs to eat in house next to a cute decorated piano & the service was very friendly & fast. For the actual market section - everything was neat, organized, and aesthetically pleasing with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, snacks, chips, and to go food/drink items. DeLuca's is located close to the nearby commons/public gardens if you need a delicious fresh lunch and want to picnic :)

This market is adorable and they sell Teuacher champagne truffles from Switzerland. They are to die for. Love shopping in Beacon hill for quirky Christmas gifts!

I came to Dealuca's for a free wine tasting. They had 4 options, as well as a whiskey. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would certainly come back! Also important to note that the wine area is a bit hard to find, but they have a great selection.

Mice poop! That turned this foodie's stomach!

Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness. Unfortunately, I was worried about not being able to roll it back up properly and making it inconvenient to carry (which it actually happened), so I took it away and ate it at the office. After about 40 minutes, the bread had become somewhat dry and hard.

Looks very authentic inside like a restaurant / deli you might find in Firenze. I decided to order the Italian Sub as they make it; no changes. PRO-TIP: Place an order online for pick-up; walk up, go in the second door (to the left) straight to the counter where you pay and pick up your sandwich which will be ready by the time you get there. If you're in the Boston area, I would consider it a sin NOT to try Bricco's Salumeria. Not joking when I say that my favorite bite experienced during my entire trip to Massachusetts, came from one of the focaccia sandwiches I ordered from Bricco's. I have already made it a point in my mind to hit this spot in the North End of Boston any and EVERY-time I find myself in the Boston area. It truly is an Italian staple and a Boston Classic! I am a sucker for the majority of places that promote and sell to the public the local or imported ingredients and produce that are used in the making of the speciality menu items that make the spot a household name. The bakery is cash only and sells a variety of breads: baguettes, ciabatta, sourdough, & olive bread. In addition to the sfogliatelle, they sell muffins, croissants, and focaccia and muffins. The sfogliatelle was pretty good, the pastry was crispy and flaky and the lemon ricotta filling was very rich and creamy.
