They have seating so you can eat your meal and look out at the Common!

I stopped by here last weekend because my friends and I were getting hungry and Lambert's was convenient. What a great find! One friend had a sandwich and said was great, and the other enjoyed her pizza. I had food from the hot bar, spaghetti, meatballs, and chicken wings. Hey,I was hungry, okay? ;-) Anyway, I kept on thinking about those wings and ended up coming back for more today!

    Love the salad bar!

I'm so excited to have found this place! I've been going to UDG in the Downtown Crossing area for my salads, but decided to try Lambert's for a change (gotta spice things up in my 9-5 routine life). The salad bar is plentiful. They don't chop your salad like they do at UDG, but you can (attempt to) do it on your own with the plastic utensils and make a game out of it. You will fail, but it'll be hilarious and make for an entertaining lunch hour. Trust me. The salad bar is $5.99/lb. and you can add on avocado and/or various proteins (chicken, eggs, etc.) all at the $5.99/lb. cost. Most places will charge $2.00+ for these items so I appreciate them keeping it at the same cost (woo...equality!). This place can get pretty busy during lunch. It seemed like their sandwich line was pretty long (note to self: try sandwich next time), which must mean they are pretty good. I'll definitely be back!

#4 Summer Street Sandwich with a cup of soup and drink...under $10. Deal!

Boston is like my second home. I have been there so many times, yet I can still wander around like I've never seen the city before. I had a full day to myself while my girlfriend had a busy day in Boston. I picked up some things for her in Cambridge, then walked through the streets of Beacon Hill, then took a well needed rest in one of the park benches of Boston Common. It was a quarter past noon. As I sat there, watching people go by and listening to the MC play music for some event, I got hungry. Real hungry. Yelp to the rescue! Lo and behold, I was right by some market with real good reviews...sandwiches, soups, drinks...perfect. As young as I am, I don't nearly walk enough in the suburbs of Chicago. I drive to work, sit at my desk all day, and drive home to eat and sleep. I forced myself out of that bench and was well on my way to Lambert's Marketplace. I walk in to a number of thoughts..."oh cool, lots of food" "so this is where I order sandwiches...wow, lots of choices" "perfect, window seats to sit down" "what the hell should I order??" I took way too long to decide what to get, but finally got myself a #4 Summer Street sandwich. The sound of horseradish and roast beef was PERFECT. I added a cup of clam chowder and a drink to that and paid my dues. $9 dollars and something...not bad at all for a quality sandwich! This was the best part though...eating the downright delicious and wholesome sandwich and staring out the window. I got to watch someone's hat fly off and another person running after it, I got to watch two cars almost get in an accident, I got to watch endless people do their thing. A great addition to this already great food. Energized physically and mentally, I packed my things and headed out of Lambert's, setting my compass toward the Sam Adam's brewery...

The best way i could describe this place as a mini Whole Foods. Some bright spark thought that could make a lot of money by creating a corner store/deli using nothing bit high end indgridents and brands.and they were right! Every lunch time, the suits of downtown boston decend upon this place like a golden parachute clause in a contract. So my advice is to get there at 11.55 or 1.05 to avoid the crowds. I ussual hit up the salad bar with whole chunks of Boars head chicken Breast. whilst most of my co workers swear by the sandwhich deli. but what we can all agree on is that if you have enough space for dessert, the home made cakes and pastries will probably cause you to froth on the floor in delight

    Roastbeef, provolone, tomato, mayo sandwich.

We happened upon it across from the train station. The selection was decent, and it WAS funny to see a Dunkin Donuts counter there. I don't know the area but I am sure the reason for this is the train station across the street. Some people like having a coffee place for convenience either before boarding a train or right getting off a train. Anyway, we found a selection (a red, don't remember what kind)and had no problems being 'followed' as people of color in the area. For a selection and nice store I'm compelled to only 3 stars, as we were not offered help with our purchase.

I then had to ask for a Powerball slip from the store clerk/cashier. I find that odd. Why are they not on display? After that I decided to buy a couple of scratch tickets. When I started to scratch the guy then says oh we don't do scratching in here or something like that! I have NEVER been in ANY place big ,small, gas station, convenience store and liquor store that has acted like this! There also were barely any selections of tickets. That was not the case years ago. The old clerks were nice! It's real simple. If you don't want to provide proper lottery services, why did you become an agent? I haven't been ever since.

This place is your above-average corner quick mart. Three-and-a-half stars might be more appropriate. A bit more spacious, a bit more well lit, and a bit cleaner than one would normally expect - this place starts out above par but add the beer and wine license and it definitely pushes it well above convenience store mediocrity. You won't be wowed by anything in here - there is nothing too unusual or exceptional, however it is large enough to offer a bit of a wider selection. No one is very friendly here however service certainly isn't rude or poor, and while you may be able to count on some cross-eyed looks from Keno patrons, it never extends to the point of feeling uncomfortable. And the prices are pretty much fair market. Yes, your Lean Cuisine and Ben & Jerry's may cost you more than they would at Stop & Shop, but not exorbitantly so. And who expects big-box prices from a corner store? All in all, I am happy to have a place where I can leave my kitchen and be contentedly back there with some last-minute cream for coffee, milk for cereal, or wine for dinner all in under ten minutes and twenty bucks. Better still that it's coming from a clean, safe, small neighborhood business.

Prices are on the expensive side, but fairly standard for Harvard Square prices. They have the customary selection of beers, wines, liquors, and mixers, but they also have a section of Harvard apparel (like T-shirts, sweatshirts) and Harvard memorabilia (like keychains, mugs, coasters, etc), so it is a great place to also pick up some souvenirs while you are shopping for your beer! I also like that they sell accessories to complement your drinking, like plastic martini glasses and plastic shot glasses for a party. Their hours online might not necessarily reflect when you are able to buy alcohol. I walked in after 11pm one night and even though they were still open, I was told that they cannot sell alcohol after 11pm (not sure if that is only on specific nights or if this is a nightly rule).
