i've lived in town for a few years, and passed by, but had never ventured inside Delta Pharmacy. recently, i needed a watch battery replaced, and a watch band repaired. i went inside and made my way to the back of the store, where the clerk behind the counter politely proceeded to help me with my watches- and explained to me that i could pick them up possibly tomorrow, or the next day- that someone would call me. i was called the next morning to come in; my watches were ready. it was very convenient, thorough, and painless. (the cost of the battery was minimal) while i was there, i noticed some very cute items on the shelves. there is quite the variety of items there. and i do love knick-knacks. in the words of General MacArthur, "I came through, and I shall return". read more

The pharmacy has begun refusing to fill prescriptions I have had filled there for years. This is causing me great harm. I'm in the process of taking legal action because I need theses meds and I am Protected by the American with Disabilities Act and denying me medication is discrimination. They stand at the counter and just refuse to fill my prescriptions. I have been getting these meds at this pharmacy for years. The owner is arrogant and obnoxious. And he hung up on me. I will file an ADA complaint and maybe more. read more

I thought it would be convenient to start using this pharmacy for my daily prescription. At other brand-name pharmacies, I could get a 90 day supply. But Delta Pharmacy won't provide me with a 90 day supply. I explained how difficult it is For me to get there on a monthly basis with my work schedule usually interfering with their hours of operation. They simply replied with "that's our policy" and would not engage further, claiming they are too small to fill prescriptions for longer. They could have offered to put me in touch with the manager or something. Especially since I waited for quite a while to pick up my prescription while the one guy at the counter just kept typing away at the computer. I have decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

The new management of Delta Pharmacy has disregarded the key tenets of courtesy and service when it comes to servicing the locals within this small community. This was once the "go to" store for purchasing trinkets and cards, and getting personalized service regarding medications; unfortunately, the lack of warmth along with knowledge leaves most of us seeking another location to meet our health needs. You'll wait a minimum of 10 minutes even if you call in your refill two days in advance. Save yourself a headache and find another pharmacy. read more

While I would love to support a local business in our town, my family had had nothing but frustrating experiences with the pharmacy over the last year. They regular claim to have not received prescriptions when our doctor's offices have sent prescriptions with us there. They seem unwilling to help. Went in to get my grandfather insulin needles. Was told that I would be required to bring in a prescription in order to purchase them. I am over 21 and I carry valid identification, which to my knowledge, should be all that is legally required to make this purchase. I feel like the staff presumed my intent was nefarious in nature. WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR AT DELTA PHARMACY. My drive to Lodi was well worth the trip. read more

Was surprised to have this unfortunate incident happen to us today at our local pharmacy. We've been to this pharmacy many times and we have never been followed around. Today we went into the store with our 3 year old grandniece who is biracial. The store clerk kept following us around and standing near us like we were going to steal something. It was such a blatant racist move too. I will never step foot in that pharmacy again and will also let my friends and family know too not to purchase there. We have lived in Rio Vista for 20+ yrs and would use this pharmacy. They have never allowed 90 day fills, and would give us 30 day at a time, which meant we had to pay triple our co-pay. So we use mail order through our insurance for those and use Delta Pharmacy only for our opiods which is 30 day fills. The owner retired and sold the business, who promptly changes rules. They also crowded the back of the store with a vaccination area and added merch (there is no place to sit and wait) They now require us to come in person and wait to get our opiods filled. This can be anywhere from 20 min to 45 min. Then they required us to move ALL of our mail order scripts to them because of the opiods, which means they again would not fill a 90 day supply which results in our co-pay tripleing. We do not use Delta Pharmacy and strictly use our mail order pharmacy. What a shame. read more

I know a visit to the pharmacy isnt very exciting but i gotta say to that my visit here started off as me needing advice on medication and treatment for something(i'll spare you the details). But when i talked to one of the pharmacist quietly about it, he sprang into action and went over and he was so good, thorough,and informative. I wish i knew his name cuz he was such a pleasant and professional person. He made me feel really good about doing business there. Just moved to Rio Vista recently and decided to check out their gift wrapping last minute for my grandsons birthday. I had Cecilia help me out and she did excellent! The pharmacy is under new management with new rules. They won't fill prescriptions until you're there, and you must wait, i.e. you can't leave and come back. There's nothing worse than having to be around other sick people and being exposed, and exposing others to illness. read more

We are from out of town and needed some OTC medication for the baby. I called before arriving to make sure they had what we needed and they were prompt and friendly on the phone. My mom Live our here in Rio Vista so this is the only reason I'm posting my experience. I went in the the Delta Pharmacy ( it is a beautiful store), to put in a couple of prescriptions for my elderly mother as I entered the store I had to say Good morning to the staff other wise they would not said Anything to me.(Yes I'm a Black Educated Women with a outstanding Career) . Rio VistA is not African American Friendly form my experiences ( yes more than three incidents) so if your of Color don't be alarmed at the behavior of the staff of a Women. Love this local pharmacy. They are small town friendly yet fill prescriptions efficiently and correctly. Pharmacists are always eager to discuss prescription medications as well as answer my questions and offer suggestions for over the counter items. This store is also my go to place for decor, candles, and cards. They stock very nice, hand picked items. read more

I stopped in today to pick up something and decided to ask the pharmacist about an over-the-counter medication. My husband was waiting on a prescription from Kaiser to come in the mail. But needed it sooner than we could get it. The pharmacist named Maribel informed me that they did not have anything that they could substitute for it. However she let me know that we can have our doctor call the pharmacy and give us a one to two-day prescription to get us through. We did just that and I'm about to drive home with medicine that's going to give my husband much kneaded relief! Everyone at Delta pharmacy has always been wonderful. But this takes the cake! Thank you very much. Don't anybody ever bad mouth a small town pharmacy. Sometimes the prices may be a little bit higher than you expect. But the service is absolutely worth it! read more

I haven't had occasion to have a prescription filled here, but if you are in Rio Vista and want to pick up a knick-knack this is one place you should stop. Prices are a bit steep, but most of the store is dedicated to a variety of trinkets and gift items. You'll also find quite a large selection of cards to choose from. read more

I've been to this pharmacy about 6 times in the last two years. I can't say that I really like the staff. They are minimally cordial and minimally interested. They don't like you to use their restroom and actually denied it once when I came in to refill a prescription- because there was a festival in town and didn't want people off the street to use it too. Not a place to be if ya gotta pee! They have a lot of cute knick-knack items for sale. They look handmade and craftsy, but most times if you look at the label it's manufactured in China. I like to shop in small businesses, but in this case I'd rather just go somewhere else. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town. On a positive note, they seem exceptionally polite to senior citizens, which is great. read more

Delta Pharmacy is quite the small town drug store. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. My wife and I both have our prescriptions filled there monthly. (we have a substantial list we are required to use) The store reminds me of a small town drug store of yesteryear, with the personal touch of the old time pharmacist and drug store, minus the soda fountain! Very helpful and informative, with the added plus of carrying just about everything you need for any occasion. read more
