We have been going here for years now and today it took a turn. My husband has been waiting on his medication, I called on Monday morning and spoke to the pharmacist named Alex I believe. He said he was going to order the medication so that we could have it before Saturday which is the day my husband has to take his medication. It's now Thursday and still no text letting us know status. So my husband calls and he's told that as of Friday last week they will no longer carry that medication so his best bet is to go to a CVS pharmacy. Why couldn't they have told me that when I called Monday or have someone call us to let us know whats going on??? So unprofessional! This isn't the 1st time either!!! Smh I suggest go somewhere else. The fact that they try to make you feel stupid for asking for your prescription and if the dr didn't send it correctly " oh no , it's out of their hands to actually help the problem. It was originally like 179.00 my insurance brought it down to 117.00 the wonderful pharmacy clerk said oh you don't want yo pay that! Let's try Good Rx. The prescription ended up being about 25.00. Travelled almost an hour away because this place had open slots for the covid vaccine. Like the other places that I had seen, this rite aid wasn't crowded at all. Pretty huge store with almost all the items you'd need to purchase. My vaccine process was also pretty quick with the people being the pharmacy being very warm and kind. For the first vaccine I had to submit my documents and they made me fill a form. Then the doctor/ nurse came out and got me injected within minutes. Four weeks later, for the second dose, I just had to present my vaccine record card & they again made me sign a form asking about my medical conditions and reactions from the 1st dose. That process was really quick too & I was feeling just fine. After both the doses, they ask you to wait for about 15 mins so that you don't have any immediate reactions (which I believe they would've helped incase happened). They get 3 stars because the guy at the cashier was nice and helpful. But what he failed to do was scan this coupon. I could have saved $2.00. It may sound petty but it's the principal. We should get to use the coupon if it was offered. Tip: I used to work at a drugs store and I actually payed attention to coupons and things in our store add to make sure the customers were getting the bast deals and that they remember it so they can come back again. I could have went back to the store to get money back but it would take too much time to get $2.00 back and have to drive again so, it's was not worth it. Update: Alicia (sp.) is the Pharmacist manager who is unable to help, giving false information and blaming everything on corporate. I reached out to corporate and they responded with "her second dose appointment will be scheduled for her. Her second dose will be scheduled for 28 days after her first dose was administered. We will remind her of the appointment date and time with a phone call 2 days prior". Alicia says this is false information and will not be following this protocol. this is quite possibly the worst establishment I have ever come across. The employees who work in the Pharmacy are RUDE, incompetent and lack compassion. With so many negative reviews, you would think the store manager or store owner would step in and make some changes. My mom went in for her first COVID-19 Vac and they were anything but nice. This is a stressful, devastating and very confusing time so you would think these employees would be understanding. They would not book my mother her second appointment (told her to keep checking online, which we have and nothing is available), would not place her on a wait list (although other people were able to) and did not offer any means of assistance. Meanwhile, other rite aid's in the bay area are booking second appointments for people who have had the first dose (it also says on the website that the pharmacists will). They just tried to short me by 25%!!! I had a prescription refilled. Normally the pills come in a sealed bottled from the manufacturer with 60 pills in each bottle. 2 bottles, 60 pills in each is 120 pills. For some reason, they took the pills out of the bottles and put them in one of their own bottles. The bottle said there were 120 pills in it. When I asked the pharmacists why, they said it was for "convenience". When I counted out the pills, there were only 80 pills in the bottle. Literally within 3 minutes I was back at the pharmacist asking about it. The pharmacist tried to play it off that I had gotten the prescription some length of time before and was just coming back. He didn't even remember that he had talked to me 3 minutes before! Despite telling him I wanted my pills in the sealed bottle from the manufacturer and there is simply no reason for them to be opening the bottle, he started opening the bottle. I told him if he opened the bottles I would not take them. This was not an innocent mistake that someone miscounted by one or 2 pills. This was a deliberate attempt to cheat (aka steal) 25% of my pills and try to pass it off on me! You can bet I am reporting this to every agency that regulates pharmacies and pharmacists. read more

It's painful to see all these bad reviews. So here's the deal and what I've seen. With the influx of people coming to live here, the pandemic, shortages, and limited staff resources, it's been hard to see this pharmacy not get the credit they deserve. It's been a rough few years, and I am seeing it at multiple pharmacies in the area. People are moving here in droves (continued development of homes with no plans to add grocery stores/pharmacies in the vicinity that can keep up with new residents). It's expected for long wait times. Trust me, Walgreens in Brentwood has the same issue. However, my prescriptions are always correct, staff works hard and are still professional & polite (even when customers aren't the nicest). Couple of suggestions would be better hours. If they opened at 8am, that would be awesome. Also, more staff could be hired. Yes--it can be really frustrating to be jerked around due to logistics but maybe we need to bring this up to the City of Oakley. Instead of another storage unit facility, gas station, or fast food restaurant, we can add more smart businesses that meet the needs of our people. read more

Pharmacy told me my medicare did not cover my 3 months' medicine. I believe in them, then leave without any medicine. After 3 months of no med, medicare give me prescription again, which was sent to target. Target successfully gave me medicine for free. Target said Rite Aid pharmacy maybe did not have experience or did not even try. They need to claimed the primary insurance first, then claim the medicare, then medicare will cover the medicine. Hope the pharmacy department will read this and the future clients will be able to get their med. read more

I was looking for an arm sling and found that rite aid has one in stock at Oakley location. I had the option to purchase online for $9.99 and curb-side pickup but decided to head into the store and get it. When checked out I was charge for $13.49 so I asked the cashier why there is a 35% price difference between online purchase with curb-side pickup and pay for it in store. The cashier simply replied: "I don't know". I ended up pay the store price as it's useless to say anything else. I called in my prescription well in advance and was told my prescription would be ready by 315. I surprisingly arriive to no line at 440 and told that my prescription is not ready and it would be 15mins. When I asked why it waasnt ready when I was told 315, she told me to go take a seat. I could not make it there so I ordered online and the ease could not have been better. The products arrived at my home on the date promised. I made an appointment on September 22, 2022, for various vaccine shots. I came early for the appointment only to be told that they had a computer issue and could not dispense the shots. This store seems to be kept stocked well. I use the pharmacy regularly. At some parts of the day the pickup line for prescriptions can take 15 minutes or more so if you're in a hurry it may be frustrating. The pharmacy clerk's always explain clearly any important informationregarding my prescriptions. If you call in refills you will usually get a automated reminder call that your prescription is ready. If you need your prescription sooner than that I highly suggest calling and talking to the pharmacist they'll usually give you a ETA for how soon you can pick it up. The people at the pharmacy literally take THE LONGEST time to help people & when you actually get to the window, they're not friendly and can be rude. There's one lady that is always at the register at the pharmacy and she's slower than a sloth. I hate coming here for my prescriptions because of the bad and slow service. There's even been times I've gotten multiple texts that my prescription is ready but when I get there to pick it up, they say it's not ready - and when I tell them I've gotten texts it's ready, they still say it's not. My fiancé has even gone here for prescriptions only for them to say they have to order his RX and it should be in the next week - but when we go in to pick it up the next week, they say it needs to be ordered. Ummm you said that last time and for me to come the next week so why's it not here?! They are very contradicting. This location's pharmacy service is TERRIBLE!!! They don't answer their phones promptly, and when they finally DO answer the phone, they don't say anything! They just take the phone off the hook and ignore you! I've tried yelling "HELLO??!!" into the phone, yelling, "ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN YOU PICK IT OFF THE HOOK!!" And, I've even resorted to ringing a VERY LOUD antique schoolbell right into the phone, hoping they would hear THAT, and pay attention. It did not work. I have better things to do with my time than wait on terminal hold and be ignored! If they are that damned busy, they need to hire more staff!!
