If you have a Preventative Maintenance Contract with this company, they are NO LONGER HONORING THE CONTRACT. And they are trying to claim that they only owe you a prorated amount monthly, because it states this on the contract. The contract states only what happens if the Customer cancels- they have breached the contract and unilaterally decided to stop honoring it without notifying customers. The regular Home Depot-based 800 number sounds like they are just busy- with a neverending loop of message- but they are just trying to delay you finding them and asking for your refund. Gave one star because I finally got ahold of someone to cancel order. Went through Home Depot to buy a water heater and have it installed. There promise is call before noon and it will be installed that day. I called at 10 am and got a window of 1 to 3 that afternoon. At 1:30 I got a call saying they had to reschedule until the next day Friday between 2 and 4. So I agreed to that since it was to late to look elsewhere. On Friday I got a message left on my phone at 3:30 that they needed to reschedule and I needed to call them. After numerous call and hang ups I actually got someone to help me. She said they could schedule install on Monday. I canceled the order and moved on. read more

Bought a new water heater from Home Depot in March 2021 - installed by Delta. It started malfunctioning in August 2022. Called Delta for service - they have no record of the installation. The guy on the phone tried to find our information but couldn't. Was put on hold until I gave up and hung up after 10 minutes. Terrible company. I ordered a hot water heater at Home Depot and Delta was supposed to install it. When the installer arrived, there was a problem with the size of the water heater. I call my salesman at Delta three times for clarification and to see if there were any other options. The first time the call went to voicemail and was never returned. The second time the person who answered the phone told me the salesman was at their desk and then transferred; they let it go right to voicemail. The third time, I explained my situation and they said they would get somebody on the line to help me. Call was suposedly transferred, but instead apparently intentionally dropped. So disrespectful. Going to copy Home Depot on this as well. I do not recommend this company. Find someone, ANYONE else. You will not regret it. read more

This is a fraudulent company. I bought my water heater 2 years ago thru Costco when they used to contact with delta. The installation went fine and delta offered an extended warranty on parts and labor for 15 years. Recently when my water heater started giving issues I called them to help service it. They told me they stopped contracting with Costco and can no longer honor the warranty. This company seems like a complete scam and someone needs to take them to court. read more

Oh I wish that I researched Delta Mechanical on Yelp before hiring them for a job. The job finally was completed after two attempts and and 4 days. The installer was knowledgeable and worked very hard. That wasn't the issue. Their biggest issue is that they are waaaay over-scheduled. Customers are NOT their #1 priority, $$ is. Two stars after 49 reviews for a reason. Ours is their 50th review at uno star. I am beside myself with this company. I was referred to them by Home Depot for water heater replacement. They called me quickly after Home Depot submitted my info to them. The person on the phone said there needs to be an assessment & quote done first. Not thrilled about that, feels like they're getting ready to try and upsell me when we know what we want.... but okay let's get started, right? Appointment set for Thursday 10am. So no one shows up to the appointment. I call to find out what's going on & they don't show any appointment in their system. Of course I'm unhappy about it, but the man connects me to a new person who sets me up for the next available appointment. Saturday sometime between 10-2 (apparently there is a time range which they didn't mention the 1st time but I guess that doesn't matter since there was no appointment in the system anyhow). It's Saturday now. I've waited for almost 3 hours, no call, no text, no email. I call to ensure they are coming. The person in dispatch tells me my appointment is for Monday the 24th. 2 more days before I can even get assessed, let alone any installation. Do you think I'm going to continue to work with a company who does this? Not a snowballs chance in hell. I'll bathe in cold water forever before I consider giving these people my money. read more

I needed a hot water heater and called the number on the home depot site to have it installed the same day. I talked to a nice gentleman on the phone and we talked about the cost. He said he was charging for condensation line and for making a hole through the wall. I told him that the line was already there going through the wall. The plumber just had to connect to it (part of installation cost). They gave me a price and charged my card for the whole price. THEN, I received the itemized bill and found I was still charged for the condensation line and hole for $120. I emailed my contact and wound up calling to no avail. I have not heard back from them. This has happened to others so I assume it is a racket for them! BEWARE! Get someone local you can trust!! read more

They installed the wrong water heater. I wanted a hybrid one and I gave them a model number and said I wanted the 80 gallon one. The tech said that 80 gallons would be overkill and I should get the 50 gallon one. So I said ok. They come back with an electric only water heater, I didn't bother to check the model number. Another plumber comes in 5 days later for a different issue and asks why didn't I get a hybrid water heater. I said I did. Then I check the model numbers and sure enough they installed a $500 water heater instead of a $1300 water heater and they are charging me $250 for labor to return the one they erroneously put in and the difference in the price of the water heater. Hey Im done early, can I come out? I said no Im at work and scheduled for 4. He said ok. My window of time came and went. I was fuming. I called and texted the installer... No response. Emailed the guy who sent me an invoice.. No reponse. Called Home Depot no help. Finally 1 hr after they were supposed to show up Delta calls me and says he went, saw it was raining and couldn't install today! First off, my neighbor was home and saw no one come on our property. I appreciated how fast Delta was able to get me in, and the professionalism that I received overall from their customer service. PLEASE HELP!!! How do I get home Depot to refund me and get this stupid water heater out of my home!? I want a full refund and I am scared they won't because Delta did the installation. It doesn't work AT ALL like what I was sold over the phone and it is SO noisy. They sent out a Tech who reeked of week to do a secondary inspection and he said he would contact his district manager. I asked him well why did you come out then? I now have to take a third day off work to get someone out to my house to discuss my dissatisfaction with the regional manager and I just want the crap taken out and a full refund. I can't deal with these incompetent people. And they RUINED my house. Busted holes in the wrong spot that blew off my baseboard and left grease stains EVERYWHERE including on the ceiling. This company (their California branch) was assigned to me by Home Depot to install a kitchen faucet. They contacted us and told us the installer would be at our home between 10:00am and 2:00pm today (Saturday). When they didn't show up, I contacted them to find out why, and was told that they assigned an installer that didn't work on weekends, and could we wait until next week sometime (!) I cancelled the installation portion of the Home Depot order. Before ordering something from them that requires installation, I would recommend asking what company will do that part before you place the order. read more

I would have loved to have the experience which other reviewers like Laura K and Toni S have had. Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing and bitter. We already had a working heating system. We contacted Home Depot, since we needed an Air Conditioning system installed before my husband underwent surgery for cancer. The AC Installation cost us close to $10,000 for air conditioning approximately 1800 -1900 square feet. . We were informed that the installation would take a maximum of a day and a half. The installation was scheduled to complete well before the surgery. The two installers from Delta Mechanical worked for 2 days at a time (in May 2012) for nearly 4 days and could not complete the installation. They nicked the front door frame and did not repair it. The installers from Delta Mechanical wrongly informed us that the refrigerant line could not run through the crawl space, since they claimed that access to the crawl space was blocked by 'the concrete basement'. However the crawl space was not only accessible through the sideboards, it also had AC ducts and a TV cable running through it. Consequently, they ran 20 ft of refrigerant lines along the side of the home, anchored to the siding and exposed. This not only looks ugly but would need to be relocated if we choose to build on that side of the home. One electrical conduit leading from the AC unit, was fixed on one side of the home towards the back of the home. It is also exposed and ugly to look at. We were not offered any options. One of the Delta Mechanical installers, Hector repeatedly complained that what he was doing was 'work'. He was unable to connect the AC unit to the mains during the first 4 visits. After some diagnostic health work had been completed for my husband, Hector returned and connected the AC to the electrical mains by forcing a wire through the existing conduit. The air conditioning worked feebly. After the first code inspection failed, a different mechanic from Delta Mechanical came and corrected the code violations. The AC installation next failed the second code inspection also. This time even more exceptions were noted. After my husband's surgery, we again took up the issue with Andre Bedgood from Home Depot who was very efficient and called in mechanics from Home Depot and Delta Mechanical. This time a third installer from Delta Mechanical called Enis came to see the work and said the previous installation was of poor quality and he would reinstall everything on August 31st 2012 starting at 9:00AM. I worked from home on Friday 8/31/2012, in order to give Enis access to the house. However he came only in the afternoon and only corrected the code violations pointed out in the inspection report - he did not reinstall the AC as promised. He insisted that it was not possible to pull the refrigerant line through the siding and crawl space due to the concrete basement and left the refrigerant line exposed for 20 feet. In addition, Enis also laid a prominently exposed electrical conduit that joins the mains right next to the carriage light in the patio. He did not consult us before laying the conduit in this way. There were alternative ways to lay that conduit. By this time, we had work done by Delta Mechanical installers over 7-8 visits on the same AC installation. We subsequently obtained quotes and opinions from other AC installers who informed us that the 20 feet of exposed refrigerant line could have been run in the crawl space which also contains AC ducts and television cable lines and that there were other less conspicuous ways of joining the mains than penetrating the newly painted siding, exactly next to the only carriage light in the patio. Carlos Barboa of Delta Mechanical had assured me over the phone, that he would take care of all our concerns after the final code inspection. We have now been informed by Delta Mechanical through Home Depot, that they consider the outstanding issues of exposed refrigerant lines and exposed electrical conduit to be merely 'aesthetic 'issues that they will not correct within the contract for the completed AC installation. Delta Mechanical have further advised us through Home Depot, that they would move the exposed refrigerant lines and exposed electrical conduits to less visible locations for an additional payment, the amount of which they are willing to negotiate with us. Delta Mechanical have also not paid for the final code inspection as of today. Inspection cannot be scheduled until it is paid for. If you are thinking of getting your AC installation done through Home Depot and Delta Mechanical and would like to take our experience into consideration, please do contact me for photographs and a physical tour of our installation. I would also be willing to share with you the history and copies of code inspections for the AC installation. We are currently considering other options for solving this issue. I'd give the installers 10 stars if I could. "When" they get here they are thorough, amazing and just trustworthy in their repairs, maintenance and installs. I have had all of the above services completed. In general, the talented service men that show up are kind and experts in their respective fields! But always rushed by their home office. The home office specifically billing, scheduling, in EVERY department is beyond incompetent. I would be surprised if a bunch of drunk monkeys answered the phone there. It doesn't matter if you are getting repipe, a simple valve repaired or your annual ac service down the 100% of the time can't keep any appointments. Then they cancel last minute day of appointment, tell you they will be there tomorrow and then don't show up for that set appointment. That is "if" they remember that they scheduled you at all. The confirmation calls are the best! Even if they blew you off for the first appointment on day 1 then on Day 2 at set scheduled time if you don't' catch their "confirmation call" they screw you over again for the second appointment that they set. So plan to taking 3 days off from work and just waiting for them to show up. I mean it is hilarious how totally not service based they actually are. Billing is my favorite! They have had my card on file for 3+ years for the sole purpose of billing my CC. Yet, every time weeks later I get a certified letter saying my bill isn't paid. It is the worst run business that I have ever seen. All of the departments are siloed. If you need more that one service.... that is a double dose of incompetence. Just try making two appointments!! The fact that they provide a service is additional hilarious. Apparently, Home Depot doesn't really care that much for the customers as they have stuck with Delta Mechanical for 16+ years. They promote the constantly yet I wouldn't trust them to walk my dog let alone actually show up for appointments that they set. read more

This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with!! It's been months and I'm finally writing a review. Now that I found them on yelp, I am not surprised by all the bad reviews they received. I don't even know where to start!? First off they placed a electric heater/ac and the crap wouldn't work when it was freezing outside! I call and complain and their answer is because it's freezing outside. What!!??? Really?? That's why we got it in the first place! Then they finally answer and tell me it's because our order didn't have coils. And coils would be an extra charge. Are you freakin serious? We froze for two months because you didn't install coils? Did I mention I had a water leak happening in one of the bedrooms because they didn't properly close off the vent from the roof! The technician came out at least five times to the house. On the last visit, looks at the order and realizes it wasn't supposed to be an electric heater/ac unit! The order was for a gas unit! Okay, so they screw up the order, have us freeze for two months, and forget to put vents in the two bathrooms. Constant phone calls to the manager Tony and never calls back! He finally called back after three weeks of leaving messages, only because we went to the manager of Home Depot. Home Depot works with these clowns. They need to cut their ties! It's not building my confidence with Home Depot either. Shame on Home Depot to have a contract with this Delta Mechanical! Next stop will be Michael Finney on channel 7 news. I had them do my A/C install and was pleased with it. That's where it goes bad. I had them quote a water heater install, and the guy said he gave me a quote that saved me hundreds of dollars. Made one other call to a competitor and the quote was 30% cheaper. Hmmm??? Then he mis-measured the unit, and I was told they could not find this weird size unit anywhere in the country. After several days I decided I did not want to go through with it. They had already charged my card, but they said they could not find me in their system. So, I am now disputing it with my bank to get a refund. I am not impressed with their lack of organization, as well as charging me before the installation. And, am now a little concerned with the A/C. I hope I don't have any problems in the future. And, shame on Home Depot, as they were the ones who referred me. read more

They called me arrange installation of a water heater and 2 toilets. After getting transferred around I finally found someone who would give me a quote. The "salesman" was arrogant and would not answer any of my questions. It took a long time to finally get a price from them and when I finally did, the amounts were off the wall! Home Depot contracts out work estimates to this company in our area. I had thought that since Home Depot, which seems mostly trustworthy or at least mindful of its reputation, had chosen this contractor that we'd get a fair price on what I was putting out to bid. This assumption was incorrect. Their estimator was an hour late to his appointment, which I can forgive; things happen. Traffic can be bad. Whatever. No big deal. What I can't forgive is asking for an estimate for a very specific job-- even to the extent of handing the man the printed paper from the Home Depot web site showing exactly what I wanted down to the SKU-- and having him insist on bidding for me a much more expensive option, and one that is less-efficient than the one I was asking for. What I also can't forgive is brazenly trying to cheat me in a bid, like I'm some kind of idiot who hasn't already researched what things cost. An electrical disconnect box? $17 *at Home Depot*. Maybe I've been to Home Depot's web site or store and looked into this already, buddy. So when you want to charge me $489 for it, you're damn well lucky I didn't laugh you right out of my house. Other line items were similarly increased in their actual price by 6-8 times what they actually cost *at retail*. No surprise, then, that this bid is more than every other installer who has bid the job, and they were all high, too. (There's really no sense in spending twice the cost of a unit to install it just to be sure the warranty is honored, when it isn't that hard to install it oneself. You can "warrant" it yourself by knowing you could buy two more if the one you installed should break and still have spent less than the installation price from someone like Delta Mechanical.) My suggestion is that if you're having these guys bid on work for you, take the time to research the prices they've itemized for you and get at least 2 other bids, preferably from small, independent, local companies who will give you a much more reasonable and competitive bid. Delta is out to rip you off because they think they can get away with it. read more

The absolute worst. I thought that going through Home Depot would mean that their company would be vetted and decent. So painfully wrong. The water heater was installed with a serious leak, the customer service was rude and they still haven't so much as called back to schedule an appointment to fix their shoddy service. When I called Home Depot to complain the woman who I talked to let me know that my complaint was far, far from the only one about this company. Edited to add: We found out later (when competent contractors came out) that the water heater was installed using one part which was't up to code, so in just a few months it had a tiny leak and was creating a rust puddle on top of the water heater. And that wasn't even the most egregious mistake they made. We were told that for the connection between the pipe and our wall, the installer had attempted to WELD a metal pipe to a plastic fitting, hence the water-damage-inflicting leak. This company cost us time, money, and didn't even do us the courtesy of attempting to get someone to fix the problem (though in hindsight I'm grateful they didn't answer my calls). read more

I purchased a service contract from Delta. They came to do my annual maintenance. It resulted in a bill for $2200. After the work was done, they said I needed a new control board for $799. They discounted it to $479. I went ahead with the work. Then a week later the 2nd fan stopped blowing. Delta came out to fix it. The price $479 again. This time i checked out the part they fixed. Its a Honeywell Universal timer. Price - $70-$95 on Amazon or through a local suppler. So I paid $479 times 2 or almost $1000 for $180 in parts. The worst part is I was told that the control boards we unique and hard to find. That's why they are so expensive. They then quoted me a new a/c system (3 units) for $29,000!!!! The worst--the ABSOLUTELY WORST company I have dealt with as a home owner and apartment complex owner. What should have been a 1 day job, took 8 days, three of which had half my house without electricity because one of the technicians shorted out two lines. And of course let's not forget the missed appointments where I cancelled a weekend vacation trip. Despite Home Depot's assurance (they contracted with Delta Mechanical) they would help resolve the problem (it still took 8 days to complete the job), and that I would be compensated for the inconvenience caused by their worker's incompetence, I received nothing since they determined that it was "unforeseen issues related to pre-existing conditions in the home." Old houses have old wiring. If a company can't hire technicians to work in homes that are more than a few years old, maybe they shouldn't be working in them. While Delta Mechanical's local and national reviews have been spotty, I assumed that Home Depot would stand behind and guarantee the work of their contractor. Don't make the same mistake I did and think maybe the good reviews of Delta Mechanical might outweigh the negative ones. I realize the negative ones tell you the real story--especially when there are so many of them. Don't be fooled by HP's rhetoric and reassuring words that they'll do whatever they can. Not even one dollar of compensation for my inconvenience was offered. I've cancelled my HP credit card and will be purchasing my $10,000 + yearly building supplies from Lowe's. Same quality, same price (lower actually) and better contractors for their products. read more

I did not think we could go wrong since they are partnered with Home Depot. We were wrong. When they came out to our house they said we needed a dual run capacitor which we replaced and also signed up for their service plan totaling $876. Less than 48 hours later our ac was out again. We contacted them to come back and they quoted us over $1000 to replace the compressor. That didnt seem right so after reading the reviews and seeing people mentioning all their issues we decided to get a second opinion. We had a different issue all together causing the issue. It was a thermostat expansion valve (txv) So first fix was wrong and so was second. Although we had to pay another company it was diagnosed correctly and repaired. Currently trying to get my money back on the service plan we just paid for that we will never use. Also the repair staff is paid commission on what they sell. read more

We discovered our water heater leaking on a Sunday and promptly went into Home Depot to purchase a replacement and get it installed. After 30 min on hold we were finally able to schedule an install for the next afternoon (even though same day installation was advertised). That night I got a call saying they were unable to come until Tuesday morning between 8-12. No one came or even called Tuesday. We called the company Tuesday afternoon and left a message with the answering service. No one returned that call. I called again Wednesday and Thursday. Those days I talked to actual people but my message that was sent to "customer service" was never returned. In the end....we went to lowes and installed it ourselves. Yet another HD horror story... I needed a new thermostat installed. Called Saturday, gave them my information, and was told that a manager would call me back the same day. Finally got a call back on Monday. The information they had in their system didn't match mine, so obviously the first person I talked to didn't even enter my phone # and address in the computer system (the data they had wasn't even close, and I was a first-time customer). Set up an appointment for Wednesday between 2 and 4. I gave them my wife's phone number and told them to call her, since my cell reception is poor at my job and she would be home. I came home on Wednesday, saw that they tried to call me (instead of my wife) to verify the appointment. Called them back, and they couldn't get in touch with the technician. The person on the other end stated that he saw that I had a 1-3PM appointment. I had to correct him, stating that I had a 2 to 4PM appointment. They said they could call me back when they got a hold of the tech. I told them forget it, since they couldn't even get my appointment right. Incompetent and worthless. My review is solely for Delta offices/customer service communications, managers, sales, etc.. actually the workers: Jose and his team-- were probably the companies' ONLY saving grace to keeping us as customers. First off, this company is so unprofessional and their lack of communication is close to none. We were originally scheduled for an install for the 18th of July and they promised it would all be taken care of and the turn around time would only be 1 day of work. WRONG! The company calls us and tells us that they need to reschedule our install date to Monday the 21st bc there's no available times anymore for the 18th--ok we're ok with that. Sunday comes around and they call us around 5pm to tell us that they have to reschedule the install to TUES, July 22nd now because they didn't know the machines wouldn't be available yet. (ok fine, lets take ANOTHER day off). thats not even the worst part!!! Tuesday comes around, they finally get to the house (2 hours after they say they would, btw) the workers are great --Jose and his team work fast and seem to know what their doing. BUT halfway through the job they tell us that they're boss just called them and told them they had to stop the job because they didnt turn in the permits in time to the city so basically they (Jose and the workers) would get in trouble for continuing their work. so basically, halfway through the job--unfinished work--they had to stop. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNORGANIZED. the Manager's reasoning was that "they had a runner on his way to get the permit" --HOW DOES THAT JUSTIFY ANYTHING? the manager just proved my point how unorganized they are if they didnt have that stuff taken care of BEFORE their workers came into work! So completely unprofessional. Im a little irritated that Home Depot recommended them, too! Just be weary about this company. The Workers are great...but the managers, and office are obviously lazy, incompetent, and cant communicate for sh*t with each other. read more

(I didn't need my tenants getting any more spam mail.) He (gosh I wish I had got his name) never returned to the phone!! Ever. He was going to show me!! After over 35/minutes I called from another phone and spoke to a lady (Julie) who didn't care that I was still waiting on hold on my other phone she just wanted to transfer me to someone else. I recently learned how bad i needed to replace the furnace and duct work in my home as it was well over thirty years old. I had originally budgeted myself for $5,000 dollars to replace these items. Justin came to my house, examined what I had and then sat down with me explaining in detail my options. Justin was extremely knowledgeable with the furnaces he had presented to me and he was also very professional. Justin sold me the best of the best Trane furnace and although it cost me $2,200 dollars over my budget, I was comfortable with the additional costs because Justin had explained to me in detail the benefits of owning a furnace with such a high efficiency rating. A date and time was made to have the installers come to my house. Ennes and Jose arrived on time and went right to work. Ennes worked inside the house and took out my old furnace while Jose crawled under the house and ripped out all of the old rusted duct work. With no messing around, Ennes insulated the entire closet, installed the new furnace including the electrical, Thermostat, and new flex gas line. Jose hung and installed new duct underneath the house and insulated around the bottom of the furnace. Jose spent both days underneath the house with not much room to work. Both Jose and Ennes installed the exhaust pipe up to the roof and a drip line for the condensation to the front of my house. They completed the job in two days. I examined the work both Ennes and Jose did after the job was completed and couldn't help but notice how meticulous they were with the quality of their workmanship. I usually don't like to leave a bad review, but I'm so annoyed with this company right now. Our water heater bursted Friday morning. We went to Home Depot, and was referred to Delta Mechanical. Installation was scheduled for next day, which we thought was awesome. However, no one showed up. No phone call, no message, nothing. This is poor customer service. Had we known they were not coming, we could've called elsewhere. Waisted a whole day waiting, and now, due to the Holiday, we will be out of water until Tuesday!!Ridiculous!!! read more

This place is awful!! I called once and spoke with their representative. He was supposed to email me a quote. I never received anything. I called again and scheduled an appointment. They scheduled it on the wrong day. They apologized. I was understanding as mistakes happen. The appointment was rescheduled. I waited at home and no show. Not even a call!!! Stressful two weeks. Was supposed to be done in 4 days. Constantly over an hour late to every appointment. No care for our belongings. Constantly banging their ladder on our doors. Chipped the outside door. AC worked for about 2 days now just normal air blows. Still not fixed. Rude technician didn't seem to care about customer satisfaction. Go somewhere else. read more

Delta Mechanical was hired through Home Depot to install a Mitsubishi Mini-Split heat pump in my home. The sales person, Justin, was very knowledgeable about installation as he had been an installer. That's where the pleasant experience ended. Justin didn't show up for the project kick-off like he said he would, and the installers Jose & Mel proceeded unguided. 1) They caused more damage in my home by cutting holes before measuring... My living room ceiling is permanently scarred. My house gets colder now because of all the unsealed holes they left. 2) They cut and soldered the lines in the unit (instead of flaring the ends as Mistsubishi recommends). They covered the shoddy work with black tape in an effort to hide it. 3) It took them over a month to get it all working, We went two weeks with no heat. 4) The insulation on the ducted unit is so poor that the temperature rises faster and greater in the attic than in the bedrooms (in the middle of the night when there's no solar load). My house wasn't a hard job, but the installation was not managed and very poorly done. read more
