The biggest bunch of jerk-offs I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. The guy who installed my hot water heater was good and professional. However, when the tank started leaking about 30 days later, I had to start dealing with their bozo's in the office. The tank started leaking on Sunday night, and I called them first thing on Monday morning. After spending 4 hours on the phone, with a very rude person promising to call me back in 10 minutes, and not calling back, they said the soonest they could send someone out was Thursday afternoon. I'm supposed to go without water for 4 days? I went to Home Depot, and the customer service person woman did everything in her power to get some action, and she said she had never dealt with such rude people in her life, and couldn't get any action. I went home, fixed the tank myself (it was a defective 50 cent washer) and sent Home Depot Corporate Office an e-mail describing the experience. Within 30 minutes, Delta is on the phone. I told them to "stick it", and I would never do business of any kind with them again. Now, they've been calling me bugging me 3 times a week, for 3 months, to let an inspector in. Do not use this contractor or let Home Depot do any of the installation, first off they arrived with the wrong water heater & had to go back, then once it was complete, debris clogged up the incoming line to the kitchen sink, instead of helping, they stated they had to go to another job & it is your problem. After many complaints, and no help I gave up. They also overcharged for an installation kit that you can buy for less than $30.00, I was charged $206.00. My complaints are ignored. read more

I would give this company a negative star if I could. I'm located in Hawaii and called Home Depot to service our split AC units. They put me in contact with Delta in Hawaii and my experience with them has been horrible. They had to come out 3 different times because the original technicians put too much freon in the unit causing it to malfunction. On top of that I got scammed by the employee who told me if I paid him directly he would give me a discount on the freon only to find out he put way too much in the unit causing it to malfunction. I've had to call Home Depot numerous times as well as the local office who did apologize and Informed me they would reimburse me my $100 for the freon I paid for. I had to call Kelly (front desk girl) after several weeks of never receiving the check to find out she never sent it. Finally when she did and I cashed it the check was bounced and I accrued a bank fee. This place is horrible and does poor business. I am currently working on getting ahold of the VP of Operations because I am so utterly shocked at how a company can operate like this, issuing customers bad checks. My water heater went out two days ago. I called around and got some pricing and most of them were extremely high. I won't put those names but one of them is another affiliate with Home Depot. I was told to call Delta as they have the lowest price guarantee. I was impressed. The sales associate was extremely helpful and explained the entire process. After I got off the phone, I immediately received an invoice in my email inbox. The technician showed up exactly an hour later. ONE HOUR! He was also extremely courteous. He wore booties in my home and put down a mat for his tools. He was done with the water heater in less than 45 minutes. As soon as he left, I received another email with my warranty info and what to do should I have any warranty issues. Overall great experience! read more

This company is horrid to deal with, if you can even get a hold of someone to deal with in the first place. The installing tech was great and did a good JOhn, but the inspection failed and they took over 3 weeks of hassling them to get someone to come out. When someone finally did come they fixed the failed part but shut off my hot water heater and didn't turn it back on. So I had 2 days of no hot water because they have me excuse after excuse of why it was my problem, not theirs. Had to replace a water heater at my rental property. So I called Home Depot to buy a replacement and they recommended their installer Delta Mechanical. On the phone, I spoke with the salesperson on the phone about the age of my house, where my old water heater was located in the house. He quoted me a 'No Surprise' quote of $1100.00 for the water heater and labor. I did not even get a second quote as I wanted the job completed as quickly as possible. They came out later that day to install the water heater. As they were disconnecting my old water heater they realize that the vent pipe was asbestos and needed to be remove before they can proceed. So I had the pipe remove by a license professional the next day and rescheduled the installation the same day. I agreed to pay additional $150 for a new b-vent pipe to replace the old asbestos pipe. They came out again and proceeded to find more things I need to repair. One being the location of the water heater. They wanted to move it into the garage, which means changing pipes, walls and the list went on and on. At this point I was very frustrated. I called their office as their crew was in their truck writing up a estimate for the additional work. I ask them about their 'No Surprise' qoute and all they could say was that they need to talk with their crew and would call me back. After several minutes, their truck started up and was proceeding to leave. I ask them where they were going and the crew said that the office told them to go on to the next job and they just left! I was livid at this point. I called their office and got no response so I left a message for someone to call me back. After an hour I decided that I need to find some else to do this job. I was able to find a contractor that I have use before to install the the water. That night as the water heater was being installed, Delta Mechanical called back and said that they could do the job at the original price and maybe give me a discount for my troubles. Needless to say I did not need their services at this point. In hind sight, I should have called my contractor to begin with. Would have save me all that grief from Delta Mechanical. If your buying a Mastercool evap from Home Depot do not have Delta Mechanical install it! Less then a week after having Delta out a second time after installation and the Mastercool was supposably fine, it started making quite a bit of noise. I hired a heating & cooling company to see why the Mastercool was making so much noise. They found that it was not level, one side was an inch higher, the belt was too tight, the water level was too high causing a lot of water drainage out the pvc pipe. Besides all of that they left the cookie tray laying up on the roof and didn't supply a customer care booklet nor the warranty card with the cooler. This is for Home Depot as well as Delta Mechanical. I was at Home Depot about 9:00 AM to purchase a water heater ("Buy before noon have it installed today"). They put me on the phone with Delta Mechanical. They scheduled an appointment between 1:00 and 4:00. An hour later I was called to inform me that the installer was having a problem with another install and would be one to two hours late. He did show up at 4:00 which was within the original install time which was great .He told me that they allow him two hours for an install of a water heater but it always took him at least four hours to do the install. He saw that my water heater needed to be on a stand and he said he would go back to Home Depot to purchase a stand for me. Home Depot is only two miles away from my house but an hour after he left I received a call from Delta Mechanical telling me that the installer would be back to my house in three hours. When I asked her why so long she told me that he was doing another install first. When I told her that was not right she did ask me if I wanted her to call him and have him turn around and come back to my house, I told her never mind I will wait. He should have been back by 8:30 and I waited until 8:45 to call Delta Mechanical to cancel my order, She was kind enough to cancel my order and I thought that was the end of it all. At 9:20 that night I got a call from the installer telling me that he was running late but would be back to my house at 5:00 AM the next morning to do the install. I told him that I wouldn't be there because I had to leave for work earlier than that and also that I had canceled the order already because he was too late. He started sounding desperate telling me that he didn't need any supervision and could come to my house after I went to bed and install it while I slept. I told him that was not acceptable. Next day about 4:00 PM I got an email from Home Depot telling me that the install was completed, an hour later they charged my debit card for the water heater and installation. The following day I went to Home Depot to speak to a manager, an hour later after speaking to just an associate I was assured that someone would call me the next day. Next day I did not receive a call so I called back and after 15 minutes on the phone I was told to contact Delta Mechanical concerning the refund of my money. I did get my money back but I feel that Home Depot and Delta Mechanical were not really too concerned with my problems. Came home to something that looks like kids water work game pvc pipe going down my laundry room wall . I have caled l and they are like will it will past code so we are not going to change it . Not enough businesses get people to take the time to review a stellar experience so I like to be the one to do it. However, today I must share my horrible experience with Delta mechanical. I purchased my home back in January and just received word that Delta mechanical did not complete the job properly on my water heater that was purchased through Home Depot. The county inspector came out and gave a list of things that needed to be complete. It freaked me out because this is a safety issue. No problem I scheduled an appointment last week for today with Delta mechanical with a window between 10 and 12. No technician showed. I called at 12:05 to follow up as I do not want to waste my day and no one was able to get a hold of the technician. I was told I would get a call back ASAP with an update. An hour went by so I called to get an update. I was kept on hold for 6 minutes then hung up on once I was taken off hold. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor, I was on hold again another three minutes. I hung up and finally got the person who I was calling for. I asked why she never called back and she said she assumed the technician showed up. I asked why she would assume that and still not call to follow up as she said she would. She gave excuses and apologies told me again that she would have to call me back because there is a bigger issue in her office regarding my service call. I asked what the issue was since I made the appointment a week ago and she had the appointment in her system. She informed me that the field technician did not have my home on his route for today so he is on his way to another call. I told her I would appreciate it as a customer her not wasting anymore of my day and simply telling me that the technician will not make it out today and demanded a reschedule with an appointment time not another 2 hour window. Of course again she told me she would have to call me back. That was 15 minutes ago. I'm still waiting on that call back. I had to take the time to write this review and will be calling the Home Depot now to see if they can contract the job out to someone else. Home Depot should definitely let them go. read more

AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! They were recommended by Home Depot when I bought a new water heater. The installer was soldering recklessly indoors; he got antagonistic when I suggested this was not safe. Eventually, he pointed his blowtorch directly at a fire sprinkler that I couldn't see from where I was standing, and tripped it. The deluge flooded my unit, and the one below. He vanished; I suspect he wasn't even licensed. His boss showed up with an arrogant "these things happen" attitude. It took a month of fighting with Delta to get them to do anything. They did an unsatisfactory job of repair, using the cheapest, incompotent bozos they could find. I was in my unit for a week with it up around 90 degrees while it dried out. Ultimately, I had to take a week off from work to deal with the damage; re-did a lot of the "repairs" at my own expense. And, before they even repaired the damage, they tried to charge my credit card for the installation!! I should have hired a lawyer and sued them, but was too busy dealing with the damage to look for one. I repeat: AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more

Please please please read the reviews. Everything you read is true. Had an emergency situation with our water heater. Went to our local Home Depot. Called and was referred to this third party installer. After calling at about 5pm Tuesday evening they said they could install between 2-5 the next day. Great!!! I didn't want to take another cold shower. Well as others said horrible horrible service. 5:30 came along and I called. They said they would send a message to the manager. I asked them if they would come tomorrow and they said they weren't sure because it was after hours. Mind you this was two days before Christmas. Ok so we left several messages and called back the next morning. They still couldn't guarantee an installer and so we canceled. We called Lowes on Christmas Eve morning and they were at my house within and hour and a half. They were super accommodating and offered an equal deal. I have never been treated so poorly while trying to give someone money. I needed to schedule a simple install.I called and after 10 minutes someone answered and asked me for my name and information. I let them know what I needed and the guy said, "sure, please hold..." 15 minutes later someone answers and asks for my name and information, he then said that I need to talk to someone in Purchase Orders. "Please hold..." Guess what, someone else answers and asks for my name and information and says, "Someone will call you back in 24-48 hours to schedule the install". Are you serious?! The supervisor said that the technician should've told us to have the unit replaced instead of having the maintenance done. That did not happen! Although they were initially late to our install, they worked quickly and efficiently to get it all done within a day. The 3 man crew was professional and thorough in all the necessary hookups. I'm all about overall customer service and experience. I feel the customer service between Home Depot and Delta is not consistent or reliable. We initially received two different quotes between the Home Depot sales associate and the Home Depot main customer service line. After initially getting everything taken care of and installed, per the county of San Diego it requires a home inspection. Our inspector was very kind in approving our water heater installation with a caveat that the company comes back and corrects the exhaust flue to have the proper connection. I have called them 3 times (over the course of three weeks) trying to get this resolved. The customer service is lacking big time and accountability is non-existent. My suggestion for anyone considering going through Home Depot is to verify the installation company. If it is Delta I wish you the best and hope your experience isn't as frustrating as ours has been. Looking back I wish we would have asked who the installation company was. Had we known beforehand based on reviews we would have not gone this route. read more

Bought a new 40 gal basic Rheem electric water heater at home depot for $498.00. Note on the heater said: "call before noon to have it installed today". I called the number and got Delta Mechanical. Asked Delta for a price quote and they said the minimum charge woud be $625.00 and that they were the cheapest in town. Then I read the reviews for Delta Mechanical here on Yelp and got scared to try Delta. Called Domco Plumbing in Shingle Springs which has good reviews and they gave me a flat price of $475.00. They were at my house within 2 hours and finished the job in 4 hours and charged the phone quoted price of $475.00. I've had no problems at all with Domco's installation. Delta is definately NOT the cheapest nor a top quality installer and Home Depot cannot be relied on to use contractors that do top quality installs for a low or average price. read more

I called Home Depot to set up a water heater estimate. Delta Mechanical returned my call and an appointment was set up. Delta Mechanical asked for a credit card in order to set up the estimate. Reluctantly, I gave them the information. Later, after reading reviews about Delta Mechanical online, I called and cancelled the estimate. The estimate was to be done the next day. The next day, their installer called and asked for directions to the house. I cancelled the appointment with him. A FEW DAYS LATER A CHARGE FOR ALMOST $1500 APPEARED ON MY DEBIT CARD!!!!!!! While Delta Mechanical swears that this isn't fraud, because they write every estimate up as an install in their system, it is a terrible way to do business. The plumbers I got from them (via Home Depot) were foreign immigrants (and NOT from the Americas) ,so English was poor and it was difficult communicating, and one of them was quite rude. Both used monkey wrenches instead of proper wrenches, & much banging on pipes, which cannot be good for them. Also, poor communication between corporate to their plumbers. Delta Mechanical installed a water heater in one of my rental properties today and did a terrible job! After they left, because the installation was faulty, water was streamed out of the top of the water heater and soaked the wall, the floor of the closet where the water heater is housed, and the area around the door to the closet. Fortunately I had engaged another plumber for another job who was there after Delta and he took care of the problem. WISH I HAD THE OPTION TO PROVIDE ZERO OR A NEGATIVE STAR RATING! I purchased a brand new Trane air conditioner less than two years ago from Delta Mechanical that cost me over $6,000.00. I recently attempting to use my new AC and noticed that the AC was not blowing any cold air. I called Delta Mechanical the next day and they advised me they would send out a technician to take a look. When the two technicians arrived the next day , they proceeded to tell me (after their investigation of the ac unit) that I had a faulty inlet valve and because of that faulty part all of my 8 gallons freon leaked out. They then proceeded to tell me that the part was still under warranty BUT I would owe $99 for all eight gallons of freon; ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Why would I be held responsible for the leaked freon when the root cause was the faulty part (inlet valve)? If the the integrity of the part was good, none of the 8 gallons of freon would have leaked out. This makes absolutely NO SENSE to me. There is a reason why Delta Mechanical's is rating soooo low. I would advise you to STAY AWAY from Delta Mechanical at all costs. Unfortunately I am sure others have had a POOR EXPERIENCE with Delta Mechanical. Bought a water heater from Home Depot. The store experience was great but the install provider that Home Depot contracts with is a joke. Delta Mechanical, Inc. is incompetant and a waste of time. The installer arrives and states "how am I supposed to drain this water heater?" I am paying over $1,400 to have a water heater installed and he is asking me how to drain the water. After a few words, I got over it and told him were the hose could go to drain the water. Install went OK after that. However, before he leaves he tells me he has a side job to install a water heater for $300 using the company van. Just what I wanter to hear after spending three times that. His name was Decko. It then took three phone calls to Delta Mechanical to get an invoice and an explanation of the charges!! It's certainly not over...once installed it developed a loud obnoxious noise whenever the burner came on. I called Delta Mechanical and they said they would send a repairman out (a week later) with a three hour window. Five minutes before the three hour window Decko (the installer) comes out and does not even get out of the truck and says, "whats the problem" and it is obvious to me that he doesn't want to take the time to be there. I tell him what the problem is and he immediately says I can't do nothing about that. I told him he is the repairman that Delta Mechanical sent out and he didn't even look at it. I told him to get out of the truck and take a look (what??). I turn on the burner and the loud obnoxious noise is repeated for him. He says he can't help me and its not his problem once the county inspector passes the water heater install. He actually said that it probably is the venting pipes in the attic which he has no control over. The problem with his statement was that it was obvious the noise was coming from the burning assembly. I tell him that and he says I should take the water heater back to home depot if I am not happy and that he can't help me. I told him to get out and that he should think about getting a different job as he and Delta Mechanical wasted another one of my days. I was livid. I realized after Decko left that he probably had another side job because it was at the end of the day and he didn't want to spend anytime diagnosing or assisting a customer that has already paid. I called Delta Mechanical to complain and was told I needed to call Rheem to diagnose the problem. I asked them why they wasted my day for a repairman when I have to call Rheem to diagnose the problem. No good answer they could give me. They made excuses for Decko's behavior and I can bet nothing came of it. I called Martin Family Plumbing, Inc. (Sean-707-410-0999) and he took the time and he diagnosed the problem, called Rheem for authorization of the warranty and got it fixed promptly when the part was delivered. What a difference in service and expertise. Oh by the way, Sean could have installed the water heater a lot cheaper. I will call him for my home and the rentals I have for any plumbing problems. Great service at a reasonable price. I will not buy products from Home Depot that has Delta Mechanical as their installer. I will go to Lowes and after this experience I may do my shopping at Lowes. I spend to much money at Home Depot to get that kind of service and I will drive further for the service. After installing in mid-February the water heater is finally working properly (two months later). I will also not buy Rheem products. I found on the internet these types of problems (loud noise) are common with the water heaters and they put me through a series of steps before I could get the part for the water heater to fix it including calling PG&E to test the gas pressure. This was done even when the person at Rheem knew this was a common problem and he knew it was the ignitor assembly. read more

I called Home Depot who called them and they did not answer. LONG story....they convinced me over the phone (we live out of state) that my 3 year old unit was a cheap one and not repairable. Installed new unit for $4,500.00 and THEN we found out the leak was in the line going into the house NOT the unit they replaced. When I complained to Delta and Home Depot they claim they have a 90% satisfaction rate and that is ALL they care about!! So after some research guess who I found does the reviews of customers....DELTA, they do their own customer survey!! Well Duh...no wonder they show a 90%. I got ripped off and I am sure they resold the unit that was just fine and made even more money off me. Home Depot contracted with this plumbing firm to install a garbage disposal. The job was not done properly. The plumber forgot to do a basic step, removing the plug. Afterward, our dishwasher did not drain, and though a coincidence, we thought that it was broken. We replaced it and the new one did not drain either. GE sent a certified technician to see what the problem was. The problem was the plug remained in the installed garbage disposal. Delta Mechanical said that their only obligation was to refund us the installation cost because we did not ask the plumber to come back and check his work. This was more than a week ago, and as yet, they have not followed through with what they promised. The cost to us was $800 after all was said and done. Bought services through Home Depot... I was sold two new furnaces, ductwork and central air. I had nothing but problems with the installation from day one. BIG TIME! Natural gas coming out the exhaust, condensate pipes discharging acid water on home's foundation, etc. I cancelled central air portion due to misrepresentation. I am still waiting for a $4,000 credit on my credit card. Was told that that may take three months. Luckily I had a team of electricians and a plumber independently onsite. They clued me in to the massive installation errors that were made. Without them, I don't know where I would be. Delta's prices are lower, but you will get chuckleheads and con men involved. And don't ask about the guy who had serious gang tattoos who showed up unannounced to work on a Sunday! I am still waiting to hear from supervisor to find out if condensate discharge was done correctly the second time. Otherwise, the furnaces will not pass the city inspection, and Delta won't be around for that! read more

Our service guy, Andrew Coleman (Baseline Road in Colorado) was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything to me in terms I could understand. He worked quickly and efficiently and showed me his work when the job was complete. I would hire him again. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because the dispatch did not explain to me that they book everything like the cable company. When they told me 4-7 that is how long I thought the job was suppose to take. Not that the service guy has a 3 hour window to show up and then another 1-2 hour to complete the job. Due to a hectic schedule this caused me a lot of stress and I felt like I was misled. I had an appt at 745 and because I thought the job would be done by then I did not reschedule. I had to leave Andrew at the house take my daughter to her appt and come back only to turn around to go pick up my daughter 30 min later. The one reason I switched away from cable was because of there scheduling among other unrelated issues. Dispatch needs to be given the tools to know if a service guy is coming from a Colorado Springs job it is going to take him more than 30 min to get to his next job. When to Home Depot to buy a replacement hot water heater and when I asked about installation price I was told $550.00 compared to $250 to $350 with every article I read on the web. What was worse, I was told I was paying for a quality installer. End of the story, I went to Lowes and found a similar hot water heater and their contractor and installation price ($275.00) were both aligned with my expectations. I'll still shop at Home Depot but will always check out thier contractors. read more

I called Home Depot and they referred me to Delta Mechanical because I need to re pipe my whole house. I called them on Wednesday and had an appt set up at 10AM to 12PM on Friday. It was a no show and I took off work for nothing. Called Delta Mechanical and the receptionist was apologetic but she said she will have someone call me but I haven't received a call and still waiting. It's almost been a week. They are the worst company and unprofessional. read more
