It sits on the eastbound side of US 290 as you're passing through Manor. It is a liquor store, but the owner enlarged the interior by including a smoke shop into it as well. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside you see a very impressive inventory of fine spirits. You'll find an excellent selection of single malt scotches, tequilas, mixers, and bourbons , but the cognac selection was pretty low end. I was pleased to find one of my favorites, Buffalo Trace, and the price was quite reasonable. You'll also find cold beer, including a decent selection of craft beer along with plenty of vape products. This store would give the larger box liquor retailers a run for their money. Around Central Texas, Arak can be harder to track down than a free table at Franklin Barbecue, yet Spec's in Elgin keeps it reliably stocked. They do have a wall of wine, but it does not compare to the selection that you'd find at the H-E-B just down the road. They also have a limited craft beer selection, but they do have a public bathroom. The prices here are also a little higher than what you would expect to find at the big box retailers. I don't know if I've ever been helped by the same person though. You can take a couple of classes at Total Wine, but I have yet to try it out. It looks pretty fun from what little I've spied on. That is absolutely not the case; I have experienced excellent customer service, and they have excellent prices. A man that I affectionately refer to as Mr. G is always in the store. I'm not certain if he's the owner or an associate, but he has a fantastic personality. I don't always need to go to the liquor store, but when I do it will certainly be this one.
