If I had a 0 star option, I would have awarded this to Delta. As a frequent flyer and more frequent Delta flyer, I am surprised and disappointed with my recent Delta experience. You be the judge... Purchased new luggage(Heyes, hard shelled suitcase) for my international 10 day trip. Upon check in at CVG, handed over my bag to the woman who checked us in and as we are walking away from her hear a crashing sound. I turn back to see that she THREW my suitcase onto the conveyor belt. Would have been just as easy to set it down, but oh well. I was really most concerned with the breakables inside the luggage but tried not to be overly concerned. This was the begining of a 10 day international trip, didn't want to fret about luggage. Some 20 hours later, land in Sydney and retrieve my suitcase with one corner of the case plus wheele, shredded off and hanging by a chunk of hard shell plastic. Yanked it off and covered this now gaping hole with duct tape provided by the airline. Long story short...returned to CVG and spoke to the Delta luggage representative who kindly informed me that Delta accepts no responsibility for damage related to wheeles. I presented the actual corner of my luggage to her and she reiterated that they were not responsible for this incindent even though the check-in clerk tossed it onto the conveyer belt. She told me the luggage surely was defective and should have been able to withstand this handling. Wow, the worst customer service I have experienced in any given situation. I am so disappointed that I will, out of necessity, continue to fly on Delta. Truly wish we had better options. read more

I was supposed to fly to Orlando to meet my wife on a business trip on June 21st however I decided to go a day early. Delta was going to charge an additional 440.00 to change my flight so I scheduled a one way flight on Frontier for $99. When I attempted to catch my flight back home I was told I agreed to a contract, if I missed/didn't take the departing flight they can cancel the entire reservation. I have looked everywhere on the flight confirmation and on the Delta site for this verbiage to no avail. They charged another $317 for the return flight.. and also treated us like we were stupid. read more

Fool me once shame on you..fool me twice...? So this morning in STL we were supposed to depart at 8:30 for Washington DC via Cincinnati... One of our pilots was late getting to the airport, first it's overheard he woke up late, then it was traffic excuse, then when we finally boarded over an hour late we heard he's been a hero and assisted some folks in a traffic accident! Not really buying that story, but it is what it is = he was late for duty. Leading up to boarding time though I, along with several others, asked about the connection and the gate agents said repeatedly not to worry about it and that they knew we'd be late and we're waiting for us.. We arrive in OH and the connecting flight was gone (not surprised), but what's really painful about this is they rebook me on a flight leaving at 4:30pm (I arrived here at 11:30am) which has now been bumped back twice now leaving around 6pm! Now through all this, because ^%#+ does happen, Deltas response is simply to apologize - no lounge pass, no seat upgrade on what might be the next flight, no rebooking on another airline - just "sorry you'll have to sit in the airport for 6-7+ hrs and wait".. I know there's a bunch of BS fine print none of us read when we book flights, but if an airline can't give us what we paid for they should have to refund us the money. Especially on a weekday business flight! I'm trusting you to get me from point A to B in a reasonable time, and I'm paying you X for that service. You accept those terms you should either come through or give me my money back. At the absolute least you should be doing EVERYTHING YOU CAN for the passengers you are forcing to endure hours and hours in a terminal...like lounge passes, wifi codes, etc. that's tiny compared to the hassle you are causing people.. Again, I know things happen and flights get delayed. I know it's not the ticket agents or flight attendants problem, but it is corporate and the folks In Customer service should take care of these situations.. read more

The Delta flights in and out of CVG seem to be late too often. My flight was late again but not due to any delays at CVG supposedly.

So Delta inconvenienced me by bumping from a flight. Then inconvenienced me furthered by making it IMPOSSIBLE to redeem my E-credit. Do yourselves a favor and do NOT volunteer to give up your seat. It's not worth it..... read more

You know I seemed to remember when delta and the other airlines need a bailout. They said if they didn't get any help they would have to layoff thousands of workers and slash benefits. So they got their money and what happened? They laid all those people off any way. So where did the money go? I recently flew on a Delta flight to Mexico and items were taken out of my luggage. After several weeks of dealing with correspondence with Delta, they have chosen not to pay on my claim. I have found through research online that this is the same thing that has happened to many passengers with similar claims. It appears as if they hope that passengers will give up on their claim and not collect any money for stolen items. I have found this to be very poor customer service. read more

I love Delta and fly with them whenever possible. While I have had a few flights delayed for a bit for reasons out of their control they have always tried to be as accommodating as possible and usually run right on time. The crews are consistently friendly and helpful. read more

Usually, I am ambivalent to Delta as most airlines' customer service has lagged in recent years. I was surprised when I had to wait for about 15mins for any Delta rep to appear at the counter in New Orleans at 4:15am. There were two other passengers that had already been waiting for some time. If they know that people have 5:30am & 6am flights, you think they'd staff people at 4am & not 4:30. read more

Delta is King in Cincinnati and they act like it - great gate agents, good relaxed people. They're in desperate need of more charging outlets at each gate though, especially for handicapped travelers. The scarcity is unacceptable. read more

I will always pursue an option to Delta Airlines. Example: on a flight today LAX to CVG, not only was the departure well over an hour late but no reason was given for the delay. After a long flight from Sydney to LAX, we were in no mood for the nit picking of charges for carry on pieces, food (not included for some reason), extremely crowded departure gate, and the final straw, the TV/movie display was inoperable. I requested a reset shortly after takeoff. They finally reset it 25 minutes before touchdown. The airline continues to decline and should be avoided if possible. read more

Six people traveling together, no longer all sitting together, now have a layover when it was direct before our flight was "discontinued", layover tickets only say "seat request", when tickets were bought six months ago. Delta gave the plane for my flight to a different flight at the very last minute, put me on a delayed flight, bumped me off the delayed flight, and gave me a flight much later with an additional stop in Minneapolis (I originally had a direct flight). So glad I took a day of vacation for this god forsaken airline to run me around the airport. What a nightmare. Never flying with them again. read more

All I can say is aaarrrggghhhh. I have flown delta multiple times around the country in the past with very few complaints. I need to fly from CVG to Charlotte for a business conference. This was the trip from hell. First the gate was listed wrong. Second we boarded the plane and then had to disembark because of mechanical issues. I waited 2 hours and flight was then cancel led. The only other flight was later that night which I needed desperately to get on as my meeting was at 8am the next morning. I was informed that the flight was sold out but there was a "good" chance they could get me a seat. That turned out to be incorrect. I know the staff did their best job they could at the desk but how frustrating. I ended up having to take an early morning flight the next day. Some of my fellow passengers from the day before were on this flight as well. I was joking that the only thing that could top this trip off was if my luggage did not arrive. I will never open my mouth and say those words ever again. Took 2 days for them to find the luggage and get it to me. The only reason I didn't give 1 star was that I have had such a good experience my previous times flying delta that I am hoping this was just a fluke. read more
