It was ok overall, but not something I'd ever pay for again. It was around $360 for 2 people (4 person tour size) which included the dolphin leg push. Taxi to the destination was separate and $15 each. When you arrive, they have you watch 5-10 minutes of safety + general environmental awareness videos before putting on life vests. Then you walk to the pool and get into the water. There is a guide and photographer with you the entire time, and closely guides the dolphins on what to do. Dolphins did some cool stuff - flips, leg push, got to touch them, but nothing crazy and wasn't as personal as I expected even in a small group of 2-4. After the dolphin visit (around 45 min - 1 hour) then comes pictures. They take you to a room and try to convince you to pay $210 USD for 10 pics, and the packages get more expensive from there. I personally did not want to buy the pics, and felt pretty harassed about this. Would rather just leave after the visit next time. Not sure if I'd recommend. It was cool to do once, but definitely pricey and probably better places you could go. read more

Awful. So regret not going with Dolphin Discovery. We loved our Dolphin Discovery experience some years back but they were closed on the day we could go. Delphinus clearly has connections so they are attached to Xplor Xelha mega company and other locations. This was a terrible experience and to total rip off for the money. Delphinus said small groups but they meant a mega group split up into 8 groups that took forever with 2 smaller, older dolphins. They kept repeating simple exercises to stall for time. We paid extra for the superman push and the dolphins fail to push kids out of the water properly (not even past the waist) To be fair, the dolphins weren't given enough swim distance to get the momentum needed but we really had to question how small and old these dolphins are that the same 2 dolphins were performing these activities for a huge group. Then at the end, they added some weird and unnecessary snorkel with the dolphin. You can get the same experience in a smaller group, better run and actually get pushed out of the water during the superman push at Dolphin Discovery. The photos are super expensive but they are no matter where you go. Delphinus does not offer the additional video though. We added the additional cost of transport. It takes about 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen. We had a 10am reservation so they picked us up at 8:50am at a nearby location. On the transport back, they combined us with a group that clearly stayed for another experience so we sat waiting 20 minutes for them in a non air conditioned area with nothing to do and no food or water. Then to add to the wait, we dropped them off first at playacar - I'm sure they were happy. So this added another 10 minutes for a total of 1h 40m (11:20am-12:40pm) for what should have been a 30m transport. We were hot, bored and very hungry - we thought this just added to the stinky experience. To finally being dropped off at 12:40pm. The driver wouldn't even let us off a few blocks earlier with some nonsense about being tracked, like that was our problem. After multiple complaints and getting re-directed, a month later they refunded the transport. read more

Amazing!! I've wanted to Swim with Dolphins for 20+ years and finally got to.. on my Birthday of all days! It also happened to be the day after mine and my Husbsnds 10th Wedding Anniversary and we had such a great time! Being with the Dolphins in their natural habitat and not in a tank was amazing and the animals so loving. We got the couple's package which was 45 minutes of playing with a Dolphin dedicated to us while one of the keepers showed us how to interact with them before doing a duel swim with 2 of the Dolphins and of course the foot push. We ended up also getting the top tier photo package ($328 after 20% resort discount) which is 2 printed pictures in frames, a folder of 12 printed pictures and a disc drive with all of the pictures taken plus 8 minute video. If you're contemplating it.. DO IT! One of the best experiences! Couples package is $399 (or $299 if you're staying at Ventus / Marina) and includes towel and T-Shirt. read more

We had an absolute blast at Delphinus! My boyfriend and I only did the Splash option (least interactive option available) and it was more than enough for us. You are not allowed to take your phone or camera in so the only photos you get are from the photographer (which means added cost - we got the 10 digital photos for $118 USD - reason to knock of a star because you don't know that/the cost until afterwards). It was definitely something that is one and done, but it was something I've also wanted to do. read more

BE AWARE OF THE PICTURES PACKAGES!!! We thought we got a great deal by paying $220 for a family of four. We ended up paying an additional $338 for all the pics (USB). TOTAL $558!!! Plus transportation ($40). The most affordable package was $272 for 10 picture and there was even a higher option for $378!!!! DO IT!! But know ahead of time the pictures are insanely expensive and you cannot take your own pictures. We did end up buying the pictures, but it is hard to not feel a little ripped off when you have left and spent almost more on pictures than the experience itself. Be very careful if you read this review and still decide to go. The staff is very high preasure to sell photos and bombarded my wife. Like expected and stated in other reviews, definitely a rip off. In all fairness, they are capturing a memory. My wife paid cash for the photos and one of the staff members stole money. Luis is the employee who stole from my wife when providing change and Angel is the supervisor who tried to cover for him. We've reached out to corporate and I'll update my review if we ever receive a response. In regards to the Dolphins. The kids had fun, but it was very cookie cutter with very little personality. Terrible experience. We went on 5/3/24 and booked the supreme package. We were supposed to get 18 activities and got maybe 7. The dolphins were not cooperating. According to the staff they were "sexually aggressive" and it was not safe for us to get in the water. They moved us from pool to pool trying to find a dolphin that would cooperate. We were suppose to snorkel for 15 minutes with the dolphin with this special helmet which we never did. We were supposed to do the foot push with two dolphins but they could only get one dolphin to cooperate which made it very difficult to balance when being pushed by one dolphin. The company was terrible and refused to provide us our money back. We booked through W2M which was a company stationed in our resort at iberostar in riviera Maya. W2M was no help as well. Dolphinus told them I was lying and we got all 18 activities. read more

Amazing experience with the dolphin. Friendly staff. We got in free as a courtesy package but it would have costed $110 per person. The kicker is the picture packages since you are not allow to being camera. They are selling these starting with 1 picture for $53 or almost $190 for 6 pictures package and go up from there. This is crazy expensive and do they know how many people passed up not buying because it was too expensive to buy the awesome memories? I am sure they do know and they don't care because enough people must have bought the picture packages so they don't care if you buy it or not. read more

I learned so much about the lives of dolphins and what I loved most was that their names are all Mayan names, each one with a beautiful meaning. I got to swim with and pet different dolphins and I felt comfortable with the help of the instructors. Absolutely amazing experience! I have always dreamt of swimming with dolphins! Our instructor Sam was very informative and he explained what to do and how to behave. I felt like a child swimming with dolphins. Most of the time we swam with Pixan I was so glad to see that the dolphin's skin looked great, while some of my friends had their swimming experience with dolphins at other places and were disappointed to see how badly the dolphins were treated. Well, here anyone could see that the staff takes a good care of their dolphins. We took a package for our family of four, our youngest is 7 and she loved it, and still keeps saying how great it was to touch their skin and how Pixan sang for us. I know there are many places where you can swim with dolphins, but it can be hard to choose the best one. This place is the BEST!!!! You will never regret, if you choose to come to this place! read more

While my kids enjoyed it this place, it is def a rip off. My 15yr old swam with the dolphins & my 7yr old couldn't get in without an adult & they don't offer a discount for an accompanying parent. My husband only stood beside her the entire time, she would have been fine with just her sister but they got an extra $100 out of us. They don't allow you to bring your own camera or me to get close enough to them to get good phone pics & they tell u they have a photographer so I didn't trip. What they don't tell u ahead of time is their picture packages which is $250 USD for 10 photos digital or $313 for all of the digital photos or another more expensive package. This is insane & a complete rip off after just paying $300. My 7yr was kind of disappointed cause she only got to pet it & have kiss her on the cheek since she was too young to ride it & that wasn't worth $100. Hawaii is really expensive but now after coming here Mexico cost more than Hawaii but the service is mediocre. read more

I had a great time at Delphinus! The staff was very nice and explained how things work. They offer lockers and separate changing areas for females and males. Getting there is a bit weird, if coming from Jade Resorts. When you reach the end of the beach, you can either go left or right. I think if you keep to the right, you would reach the marina, according to Google maps. I went to the left, which is a car pathway. It's a bit weird, but it takes you to the entrance of Delphinus. I think posting signs would have helped people. Depends on the package you choose, you will get additional activities with the dolphins. I got the supreme package and paid for additional activity (ride the dolphin by their dorsal fin). You will watch a presentation about the dolphins and nature. A life jacket is provided. While waiting for your turn, there is a bar offering snacks, drinks and souvenirs. They offer 3 packages for pics taken during the activities. The packages do seem to be a tad expensive, but you can try to haggle the price down. You cannot use your own camera, equipment, or Drone for pics/vids. read more
