The designer referred me then to Chris Mikus, owner operator of Safeguard. Chris, the designer, and I established an agreeable scope of work and he put together a proposal. Check this out: He uses the EXACT same software my insurance company uses for estimating costs whereas The first contractor merely wrote down hand written sentences on paper of work he would do. That frustrated the insurance company; i had to keep going between insurance and contractor, and all that ended when his prices were exorbitant and he refused to lower his price. In came Chris, he took a day or two and input the drawings, measurements, cost of materials, labor etc. and sent that FILE to my insurance agent. (With the other guy I took pictures of his hand written estimate. You can imagine how annoying that was for them). Then when the Ins Company got the paper bid, they laughed out loud on the phone!! Safeguard was a red-tape savior and actually influenced the ins company to release more funds later on. Thank God! **** Then on top of that, the quality of work was Outstanding. His prime employee, Jake was faithful, diligent, well-measured, and committed to excellence. We removed a wall, a pantry, replaced an island, extended countertop space another 10 feet. See pics. GB K&B is now ordering from an outside vendor. I was not told of this upfront. Charlotte House of GB K&B did the measurements; however the shower bench and adjacent closet do not align properly. I called Charlotte House, at first she promised to "make it right," but then referred me to Sharon Bedolli (owner). Sharon at first said she would help then did not respond. I also contacted office manager Kelly Bedolli, no satisfaction there either. How they can stay in business going forward is unclear to me.

In…read moreone day Cooper Brothers Construction Company sent 7 or 8 men to remove my old roof, put down 30 lb. tarpaper and clean up ALL debris. My yard was spotless and the tarpaper installation was perfect. Since I special ordered 50 year (Lifetime) shingles there was a day and one half wait for the shingles to arrive before installing the new ones. The new shingles arrived a little before noon and several men worked past 6:00 pm installing the new ones. The roof was completed before 11:00 am the next morning. So in less than 2 1/2 workdays they removed my 45 square old roof and replaced it. The job also included a new chimney cap and various other boot replacements. I have construction experience and I must say the cost was very competitive for what work was done. I could not buy the shingles wholesale for what they charged me for them. I highly recommend Cooper Brothers Construction to anyone in need of a roof. I plan on using their services for other work as needed.
