Friendly staff, fairly quick with quality barbecue. I usually get take out here. It's an easy grab and go option for dinner.

Best ribs I ever had! Close to home and local owned. Only downside is no sweet tea and okra.

We finally made an effort to come to The Shed's original location on our drive to the Pass. On a…read morehot summer afternoon, we were relieved for big fans and cold water, and hopefully tasty food. My smoked chicken sandwich was good and full of meat. To the point I needed a fork and knife to finish eating it. My side of collard greens were good but missing the smoked turkey flavor. My husband got a sandwich and 2 sides combo and had significantly less meat than I did in his sandwich. Not sure if that's because I ordered just a sandwich and 1 side vs a combo. The food came out fast enough and I believe the value of food received for the amount paid was good, but I was expecting more flavor. Overall, I don't think we'll be rushing back given the proximity to the start/ end of our drive.

As my last review said, I really use to love it. Food was good, full of flavor. Didn't matter if it was brisket or babyback ribs. But somewhere along the way, the prices got higher and higher, but the quality got less and less. Brisket getting tougher. Ribs being gritty from seasoning not cooked in. Use to, except for a few options, BBQ sauce was an add on. Now everything is covered in it. I think i can't give 1 star because part of me enjoys the sweet BBQ nostalgia of this spot. Bit despite living a short distance from this location, I can't justify a $40 rack of babyback ribs that won't hold up to The Shed of old. I hope they find their passion and focus again, the coast needs good BBQ! But sadly I feel it's holding on to a legacy and TV popularity instead of keeping the course that got them started.

I left expecting memorable barbecue. I left wondering what all the hype was about. The restaurant has a true down-home, hole-in-the-wall country smokehouse feel. The building looks like a converted home, and the patriotic, pro-America décor fits the barbecue theme well. Unfortunately, our experience got off to a slow start. We walked in and weren't greeted, which made for an awkward first impression. I ordered the DDD Burger, the restaurant's featured burger made with a half-pound brisket and chuck blend, rib candy, pepper jack cheese, and Spicy Carolina sauce. I paired it with Boss Beans and French fries. My wife ordered the Smoked Pulled Brisket on a baked potato with pepper jack cheese, butter, sour cream, White BBQ sauce, and Sweet & Spicy sauce, plus a side of banana pudding. MeatBoss_Menu_12-5.pdf The food arrived warm, but it could have been served much hotter. The biggest disappointment was the DDD Burger. For a sandwich that's been showcased on national television, I expected something that would justify the recognition. Instead, it was simply underwhelming. I didn't dislike it, but I certainly didn't get the hype. It lacked the flavor and wow factor you'd expect from a signature item. The sides followed the same pattern. The Boss Beans were basic, and the fries weren't as crispy as they should have been. My wife's loaded baked potato was also underwhelming. The White BBQ sauce and Sweet & Spicy sauce were both okay, but neither added enough flavor to make the dish memorable. Dessert didn't change the outcome. The banana pudding was fine, but there was nothing special about it. Ironically, the best part of our meal was the Coke Zeros. Pros * Authentic country smokehouse atmosphere * Patriotic décor * Generous portions Cons * No greeting upon entering * Food could have been hotter * Signature DDD Burger failed to impress * Basic beans * Fries lacked crispness * Loaded baked potato was underwhelming * Average banana pudding * Overall meal didn't live up to its reputation I genuinely wanted to like Meat Boss, especially given its appearance on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Unfortunately, nothing we ordered stood out enough to make us want to return. For us, Meat Boss wasn't a boss at all. It was more like Meat Meh.
