Throwback old fashioned bbq place. Went with the ribs, potato salad , beans- came with piece of Texas toast. Liked the taste of it all. Mike ,the owner- spent 30 minutes chatting with us. Gave us history of the place, talking about the neighborhood,where and what else to do. Fascinating gentleman- I wish him the best ! read more

This was okay for lunch. I had the rib plate with cole slaw and collard greens, which was served with Texas toast. I'm not sure why it was 20 minutes to be prepared, but I had the Internet and kept myself entertained. The ribs were meaty but very covered in sauce. The cole slaw was good and crisp. The meat is tiny and overcooked! Little drums from a baby chic. Little thighs from a baby chick. Plus it's dry and scorched looking. The bbq sauce is god awful! No wonder this place is always empty. Anyway, I bit of the drum to try it and the top layer was rubbery so I tried the meat underneath. My dad ate the sausage. We got our money back because we couldn't eat it. Right after, just from that little try we go so sick to our stomachs it started to hurt really badly and I went to the hospital and had a touch of food poisoning. My dad had to shit right after and good thing he did because he didn't get sick like I did. I took the meds and finally got some relief in the morning. EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK read more

If you like boiled rib that are not cute done and a bbq sauce that taste store, ( meaning horrible), you can't go wrong with this place. OMG, I spent $30 for some terrible backyard BBQ. Lol as a philosopher once said, you have to try it to learn it. It amazes me that they have such a good reputation when the food is cooked and prepared so poorly. Lol Taste is an individual thing. For me is pass and go to another place I won't mention on government st. That truly can do a better job. Oh and if your thinking of the shed skip it. What happen to your food? read more

A marked improvement over the last time I was there. Clean and well maintained with no roaches running around. Service is quick and accurate Al's staff has great suggestions for items. Food is flavorful and has plenty of smoke, and sauces enhance the taste. read more

The bbq was what you might expect from a decent bbq joint, but way overpriced for the little you get. In my home state of Arkansas, you'll never leave hungry if you order a main course from the menu. Unfortunately, both my wife and I were dissatisfied when we left this place. I admit I have a big appetite, but my wife rarely ever finishes what's on her plate; and she was first to recommend stopping somewhere to get a burger before we headed home. There are better options for bbq in Biloxi and Gulfport; and they won't leave you hungry. Unfortunately, I can't say this was a pleasant experience. read more

Was in the area so decided to check out some of the areas highest rated BBQ places. I have to say I was disappointed with this joint. Friendly staff but girl taking order did not seem to really know menu or even how to take care of you. I will not waste time going into all the details. As for the food, I had ribs and chicken. Why, at 2:30 in the afternoon the BBQ place was out of chicken and could not do a 1/2 chicken dinner so I told them to give me s few ribs to offset. The chicken was kind of dry and no skin on it. The ribs were good. Also had bake beans which were nothing special and slaw. BBQ is more about the sauce here and this misses the mark for me. First, no sauce on the tables. Seems they only have one sauce and it's just OK. A little spice or peppery but does not stand out. read more

Food poisoned like never before!!!! I almost died. I had to get on an antibiotic AND antiviral AND take anti-nausea medication. I lost 30 pounds in less than 3 weeks... and could not stand. I will NEVER eat here nor from their food trucks and advise you not to either. SHAME ON THIS PLACE and the people who work there, specifically Michael!! read more

Best bbq I've had on the gulf coast to date. Not only that the owner and staff are very friendly. I honestly felt more like part of the family than anything while ring on my take out order. Pulled pork sandwich was top notch and they even send it separate so it's not soggy by the time you get home. 10/10 highly recommend read more

Ordered wings. Was serves 6 flats that looked like they came from immature chickens and were overly seasoned. Staff rude and acted as if they didn't want to be bothered. They also didn't have anything on the menu available for order. After taking a bite, I threw the chicken in the trash and walked down the street to another restaurant where the service more than made up for the bad taste left in my mouth from Not so Pleasant's BBQ. read more

Good BBQ, very friendly owner and staff. Ordered the 2 meat plate. Both brisket and ribs were awesome. Had greens and beans for sides. Both were distinctly favorable and very good. Being from Colorado, I'm used to half ass bbq that all tastes the same. Pleasant's was an eye opener to the art of bbq. For desert, we had awesome little sweet potato and pecan pies. Rolled out a happy man. The owner Mike gave us a tip on Our next stop - Shearwater Pottery; and a friendly regular at the next table got in his car and led us there. Excellent bbq and very clean place. Sweet, friendly owners. We enjoyed the ribs and pulled pork with the Mississippi style bbq sauce - tomato based with vinegar and just sweet enough. Sides of baked beans, coleslaw and turnip greens were all delicious and home made. Full tummies and happy faces. Lots of parking too. read more

We like driving off the beaten path to find nonchain dining. We ordered several items. I must admit the ribs are awesome. And call ahead to order a whole pecan pie. We had single pieces and wanted more. We went back the next day for food for our 10 hr drive home! read more

Love this small mom and pop place. It's been around a long long time and I can see why. We were treated like family from the time we came in to the time we left. Great service. Cant say enough about the friendly service. Awesome experience but let's get to the most important thing of all The Food. On Tuesdays they have meatloaf, cabbage, cornbread and mashed potatoes. All of it was delicious. Also ordered a sausage link with a side of potato salad and was extremely good. Me and my family really liked this place so definitely give it a try. The menu isnt big but the food they do have is amazing. read more

This is probably one of the best bbq restaurants I've been too. I'm not a big fan of ribs but the ribs here were amazing!!! Seriously 10/10!! If you want some good BBQ go to Pleasant's, you won't regret it. Also, the staff is awesome! Our waitress was so kind and Michael, the owner, came out and talked with us, which we enjoyed! For people who like to eat out a lot, or at least people who like to go on road trips, there is this dream of walking into some random place that you might have missed if you we're paying attention and having a meal that defies your expectations. That place may be a diner with the best apple pie in America or an eatery attached to a gas station off the interstate that oddly enough serves the best Chinese food you've ever had. But you're always a little reluctant to go in at first, and your bravery is rewarded. Pleasant's BBQ is such a place. Located in trendy Ocean Springs, Pleasant's has an unassuming storefront but just the bare minimum of what you'd expect from a restaurant. Within a few blocks of the restaurant are designer stores, fine dining restaurants, and bars. But Pleasant's is just four walls and a some tables and chairs. I happened upon this place while pub crawling in Ocean Springs on St. Patrick's day 2011. I was hungry and all the other places in the area were jam packed. Pleasant's was just beyond the crowded areas and was able to accommodate our large group. Indeed, we were the only customers there when we arrived. I ordered the Pleasant's special, a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and coleslaw. The food won me over. Everything tasted as it you'd imagine it would when eating southern BBQ. I'm not sure what their secret is, but according to them, "The secret is in the sauce!" Whatever the secret is, it works. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance. read more

Stopped by here on a journey for barbecue in Mississippi, and as the other reviews say - it is all about the sauce. The sauce is a sweet/molasses/tomato style sauce, and a healthy dose is mixed in with the pulled pork. Ate the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. The ribs were the star of the show. They had a nice smoke to them, and were finished off on the grill with the sauce before serving. Since I am not a fan of sauce-driven barbecue, I would only give this joint three stars. The four stars are given for the pitmaster, Michael Pleasant, who spent some time with us while we ate. read more

Nice location, easy to park, right off of the main street in Ocean Springs. Brisket was moist and tender, sliced thin, which is different than I've ever had it but in a good way. Sausage had a great smoked flavor, texture was good; crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, again in a good way. Ribs were my favorite, fall of the bone, great smoky flavor. Ordered the brisket plate. The brisket was dry and the house made BBQ sauce was sub par in flavor. The portion size of the brisket was fair but the baked beans and potato salad was tiny in size. The price of the food would seem fair if they gave bigger portions of the side items. I was going to leave a 3 star review but the waiter was 5 star, so I must be fair to that outstanding service. read more

Great prompt service with a friendly smile was recommended by one of the owners. Stopped in the give it a try, because owner asked me to. Purchased BBQ ribs and chicken, beans and collards. With a tease portion of pecan pie (lol) I am glad I beat the evening crowd. The food was good, but not worth the $16.00 I paid for it, nothing to brag about or have to return. And they offer no burnt ends: "we're so busy, we would have no time to serve burnt ends." BBQ sauce was almost black and tasted burned. It was inedible. Beans were thin and pale and way too soupy. The cole slaw was soupy and very sweet. Since this place is apparently popular, and our servings were so different from BBQ in Texas and FL and SC, MS folks like a very strange facsimile of real BBQ. All in all, the Shed was just not good. Any Sonny's anywhere is miles better. We most certainly won't be back.

We ordered Shrimp smackers and Cheese Bombs for appetizers. Both very good! I ordered the Seafood Nachos. Our server recommended to have the tortilla chips on a separate plate so if you take it home they will not be soggy. Smart lady because the order is large. The Nachos came with a sweet chili sauce on top. It was great at first then it became too much. I would have it on the side or order without it next time. My husband ordered the three shrimp tacos with string fries. They were so good! If you have never been here I would highly recommend it. You are missing out.

But for this area being a tourist attraction, these restaurants would not make it one and done it's so many people coming through here the restaurants seem to be successful but food quality wise, horrible! The chefs and the cooks are arrogant and egotistical so you can't tell them anything without them getting offended or outright mad. I left that slop on the table.
