This hidden gem in Pascagoula is worth finding! I recommend calling ahead to place an order because he sells out quick! The ribs are amazing, sauce is not needed. The baked beans had sausage and was the right amount of sweetness. The place looks sketchy on out the outside but it's worth a try and the customer service is definitely southern hospitality read more

People eat slop better known as nasty food. Looks good but ain't! Bland tasteless bbq. The sides are dreadful. Sausage is as it is, premade by someone else and cooked badly. Just another bad bbq place with bland tasting oven baked no smoke taste food. Enjoy old people. Enjoy drunks and pot head with the munchies. BYE! read more

Definitely a little hole in the wall place. Looks a little sketchy when you pull into the parking lot but once inside it's a quaint little place with good food to grab a quick bite. Had a pulled pork sandwich, pork was tender and juicy had a decent amount of flavor to it. In and out very quickly. Don't know why but they do not recycle here , got a soda in a glass bottle and just threw it out. Very odd. read more

Delicious BBQ in a tiny little spot. Only open 4 days a week (weds-sat 11-7) I enjoyed the chicken, rib, sausage combo. The sauce they make themselves isn't anything glamorous to pour on your meat, but the meats themselves are good enough to the point where you don't have to. There beans are I would say their best side. Pretty inexpensive, I will go back. read more

Rob's Bbq On the Side - Barbeque Near Me - Pascagoula, Mississippi

For a BBQ snob, this is simply EXCELLENT bone sucking worth BBQ! And the baked potato salad and baked beans are perfection. A five because I have honestly considered vacationing in Gulf Port just to drive my wife all the way here for lunch or an early dinner. Warning: this is a real BBQ place which means they occasionally run out of items, or are still cooking items to perfection. And there open days are limited, because they are that good. Very generous BBQ portions. A must try! read more

Best BBQ in Pascagoula. Check days and hours before you go because they aren't always open. We do take out.

Good baked beans and love the sausage. The owners are really nice and keep things fresh

Rob has been smoking great bbq for over 20 years. I have been eating his wonderful food since he had a small kiosk inside a gas station in a neighboring town. Now in Pascagoula the "On the Side" has two meanings. You can get the tastiest sides of ribs you can ever want, and it's on the side of the building. Better look twice or you can miss the sign on the south side of the building. What Rob's lacks for decor inside is made up with tasty ribs, chicken, pulled pork, beef or chicken bbq sandwiches, and smoked sausage dogs. I've had it all. There's nothing that isn't just fantastically good. Especially the baked potato salad. There are two sauces - mild and spicy. Both are tangy and delicious. If you go at lunch, prepare for a wait. The line will be long. I know a lot of people argue about the best bbq. You won't get burnt end sandwiches or some kind of specialty sauces here. But what you do get is absolutely delicious and my personal favorite bbq. And I'm picky as they come. I have eaten BBQ in the Carolinas, Memphis, Kansas City and Texas. I like Rob's hands down. Rob's is owned and run by his immediate family and you will see them all working their tails off to bring a happy, delicious meal to your mouth. You won't regret it. I appreciate them. They have been serving a quality product for 20 plus years. read more

The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but looks can be deceiving. This is a family owned restaurant where the food is great & owners/family are very nice people. Some of the best BBQ chicken & baked beans I've ever eaten. The ribs, sausage & sandwiches are also very good. Better call or go early since items sometimes sell out. read more

This is a wonderful family owned restaurant! Their barbecue chicken, wings, and ribs are top notch and they're a fairly decent price. Will definitely be going back! read more

Rob's Bbq On the Side - Chicken, Ribs, Sausage - Barbeque Near Me - Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is hands down the best bbq in the area. The sauce isn't too sweet and the meats are always smoked to perfection. It's a smaller family owned and run business who should be proud of their business. Way better than the Shed or even places in Ocean Springs. read more

Excellent food, always!! My favorite are the leg quarters, however all of the barbecue is wonderful!! I've recommended Rob's to many of my friends and they have all been very impressed. Staff is very efficient and organized. Looking forward to my next meal at Rob's! read more

Visiting from Georgia I bbq every weekend and I am pretty good. Rob's bbq in the side is really good juicy tender ribs chicken was awesome sausage great and Great side read more

Just had the ribs and sausage plate. Wow! Wonderful BBQ and the potato salad was awesome. Loved it!

I've been coming here for years. The ribs are wonderful as is the baked potato salad and baked beans. Make a point to call ahead if you can. Most of the time it's no big deal but every once in a while you have to wait for the food because they're sold out of an item. The regular & Cajun sausage are also good. This place is better than the Shed. The BBQ sauce is on a side table, make sure you try both. I like to use the mild with a squirt or two of the hot. The smell as you walk past the smoker into the restaurant is sometimes intoxicating. I always eat too much and leave happy. read more

I was recommended by a friend to come here. It took me a bit to find since it was hidden in a corner behind a tanning salon behind the plaza. And with no advertisement to say, "We're located here," caused me to do a bunch of u-turns. Approaching the entrance, it looks like another backdoor to one of the stores in the plaza but the gill/smoker in the front makes it looks like something else. Most of the signs in the window and door were faded so you can barely make out the words. At least the hours of operation are legible. Walking in, the main dining area is spacious but since there are no TVs, the only thing worth enjoying is the semi big mural of something I believe to be old Pascagoula. The food was okay, I got my food around 5pm. I ordered the #4 (Leg Quarter, 2 Ribs and Sausage) and the meat tasted dry and have been sitting out for awhile so it did not appeal nor tasted good to me. I had to drown my meat the bbq sauce at the condiments table in which it didn't really help much. The only thing that I can say was delicious was the beans. If I was to return, I will ONLY get the beans. I'm not bashing this restaurant and I'm sure it was "THE PLACE" to go for bbq back then but from what I experienced, I guess I can say they lost their touch or got complacent over time read more

This is FANTASTIC southern BBQ. The facility needs a facelift and work. Don't come here for the service or friendly attitude but the BBQ makes up for the direct attitude. read more

What a treat! Ribs are meaty, juicy and flavorful. Portions are reasonable and the price is right! I travel all over for work and try to seek out the best that any place has to offer. This one should make the "must try" list for anyone coming to the area! We will be back!! read more

Rob's Bbq On the Side - Barbeque Near Me - Pascagoula, Mississippi

Very good and at a wonderful price - I ordered two ribs, 1/4 chicken, sausage and two sides for $11! You can't beat that, not for this deliciousness. Unassuming and a little hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for, but I can assure you - a LOT of people in Pascagoula know what they're looking for based on the traffic I saw coming through when I was there. I enjoyed everything, but I think the sausage and the beans were the best items I had. I am not much of a rib fan, but they were tasty and the meat slid off the bone in one piece. Overall - impressed, and I shall return. read more

Edible. Heavily spiced takes away from meat flavor. Well cooked. However, the meat was cold. I would not recommend a return visit. Baked beans were very good though. read more

Great BBQ! Nice owners. Visiting from Memphis and we can be very snobby at times. But Rob's BBQ is solid and the ribs were fantastic. Pork sandwiches were very saucy and the beans were some of the best I've had. read more

I'm not a BBQ expert but anyways, I visited the Shed earlier in the week to see what their BBQ was about and what I've seen on travel and Food Network, needless to say it was alright and not memorable. I wanted to see what Southern Mississippi BBQ was all about and somebody mentioned this place called Robs on the side and I decided to give it a try. As I was walking in I saw a shack next to restaurant , inside that shack was a smoker where the most flavorful ribs came out. I was so shocked on how delicious it was, I had the bake beans and potato salad for a side with an extra thick cut of white bread. As for the ribs, no sauce required, the light smoke and savory flavor was all it needed. The BBQ sauce on the side was thin and a little tangy, kind of reminded me of a Carolina style sauce but a little thicker and sweeter. As for the sides, the baked beans were delicious, it was sweet and tangy and had good amounts of smoked sausage links in it. The potato salad called "baked potato salad" due to the smooth taste of sour cream in the salad, I think I might of tasted a hint if bacon in that salad but it was awesome. If you're. Looking for ambiance and scenery this isn't the place. If you're looking for great food, this is where you need to go. Can't wait to come back! read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! This place was awesome! It looked kinda sketchy when we first drove up to it, even when I asked for Mac and cheese and the lady said they don't serve any. I was like, "what?!" Nonetheless we ordered the family rib meal with two large sides and rolls instead of bread. And the ribs were great! I ate mine with the BBQ beans, which was one of our sides. And the baked potato salad was surprisingly good too. All the flavors of the BBQ, beans, and salad complemented one another well. Banana pudding and strawberry cream cheese delight was good too. Owner was nice enough to give us some chicken free and it was tender and juicy! And flavorful! Overall good solid place! read more

Great BBQ! That kid from the Shack or whatever it is called, could learn a thing or ten about BBQ from these guys. They don't need tv shows or competitions to hype up their BBQ. It is simply great no fuss Que that does not dissapoint! If those Shackheads knew what real BBQ was, they would stop hanging out at that junkyard and come over here for the real thing! read more

Really enjoy this barbque...and the baked potato salad. Pretty reasonable prices too! Have been quite a few times!

I was told they were as good as the Shed in OS. Full Rack of Dry Ribs. Boring!!!! The BBQ sauce needs to be addressed. Too much Vinegar not enough spices & honey. They are years away from The Shed BBQ in Ocean Springs. Good Luck perfecting the Sauce. read more

A week does not go by that I don't stop in Robb's for lunch during the work week. As I am typing this I have a pulled brisket sandwich, mustard potato salad, and bakes bean in front of me :) Their meat is perfectly smoked every time! The sauce is definitely vinegar based but also sweet. If you feel like having two meats, but think it would be too much you can do what I do and order a side of baked beans since the beans also include pieces of their smoked sausage - so good! Robb's is definitely one of Pascagoula's best hidden gems. read more

Went there for lunch today and got close to the building and smelled rotten meat or old blood. It got worse when I stepped through the door. My coworker just dumped her baked beans because she bit into a piece sausage that tasted like the odor that we smelled. They are off the list. Didn't mean to hit the one star. read more

This place knows how BBQ is done. I can honestly say I've never once used sauce on ANY of their meats. The smoke flavor and tenderness is just about perfect every time. There's a reason why the sauce comes on the side (unlike The Shed.) This place highlights their meat, and it is fantastic. I live in Ocean Springs, and will drive to Pascagoula in a heartbeat if I want some good BBQ read more

This was great! It's a small place (almost missed it, cause it's "on the side" of the building). I got there close to closing time, so they were out of ribs and chicken, which I was sure I wanted. I almost left because they only had pulled pork and pulled beef. I got a whiff, so I stayed. Delicious pulled pork! The mustard potato salad was good too. Give them a call if you are going to be late, and they'll save you something! Also note...they are only open Wed.-Sat 11-2 and 4-7. Definitely worth going a bit out of the way. (Don't expect fancy!!) read more

Had the full slade of rib with baked beans and baked potato salad! The baked beans where GREAT!!!! LOVED THEM. The ribs where okay. I've had better. BBQ Sauce was pretty good. Definitely recommend the place. so what they are a little quick with you LOL read more

In my opinion this is the best BBQ on the.coast moderately priced and well worth the visit.

Most folks rave on the ribs and it's legitimate raving. But they have the best and most tender BBQ chicken I have ever put in my mouth. I ALWAYS devour a half chicken with double beans. BUT the baked salad provides a very unique side and will leave you wanting more. Robs is a friendly, family-owned place with humble people who just want to serve great food and make people happy. read more

I've eaten here many times and have sampled everything on the menu. The BBQ is excellent fresh hot and delicious every time. I have had BBQ all over the the states it doesn't get any better than Rob's. Get there early or order ahead because if you want something specific it maybe gone this BBQ is in high demand ! As they say it's finger licking good and normal to see at Rob's grown people licking their fingers! read more

I wasn't really a fan of BBQ until I tried Rob's. Other places, like The Shed, just don't have the taste and flavor of Rob's. The ribs are perfect, and I could live off the pork sandwiches. The beans are cooked just right with delicious smoked sausage added. Rob's is now a weekly stop! read more

Best BBQ ribs I've ever had. They're perfect. They're not slopped with any sauce. And they don't need any. (But they have a variety of sauces to put on them if you like.) This non-descipt place is better than The Shed, and certainly better than Phil's in SD. read more

Absolutely the best BBQ in Pascagoula! I always eat 1/2 chicken and a few ribs, doesn't get better for lunch!

I'm originally from Pascagoula, MS-I now reside in Boise, ID. The only thing I sincerely miss from the hot, humid, hurricane riddled Gulf Coast is Rob's BBQ On The Side. I promise you, even if you're from Memphis or Kansas City, Rob's is Untouchable. Rob is there first thing in the morning, smoking the succulent pork and beef himself. But the real kicker is his homemade sauce. It's unbelievable. The best I've ever had. And the owners are wonderful. They practically watched my four children grow up. Rob's son is usually there, and he's always rushing around, keeping the place clean. The owner refuses to move to a bigger venue-he's fine right there On The Side. But the place is always packed, usually a line out the door. But don't you dare let that scare you away-you NEED to try this. I lived on the Gulf Coast for 34 years, and only discovered it maybe 12 years before I moved. Wish I would've gone in there sooner. I plan to get my mother-in-law to ship some of that wonderful pulled pork overnight ASAP. This place even has the "World Famous" Shed in Ocean Springs, MS beat... just try it. read more
