Drove down from Jackson and popped in here on our way back and man O man I'm so glad we did. I eneded up getting two full plate combos which comes with choice of one meat and three sides. I got the baked chicken (dark meat) and corn bread dressing, cabbage and Mac and cheese and my friend got the Turkey necks Mac and cheese corn bread dressing and rice and gravy. When I say EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! I'm telling you everything was good!!!!! My friend finished his plate as you can see left the bones dry! Service was A1 Ms. Faye come by our table and greeted us herself and was so sweet!!! Full plate combo is $16 but the portion sizes are very very generous. Restaurant was clean and had the homey feeling! 10/10 I would highly recommend. Next time I'm back in Golf Port I'll definitely be by Faye's Kitchen! read more

This place is the best home cooked soul/southern food you will ever eat! It's a small place across from the old paper mill and you can see them cook, clean, and everything in between. The staff is so friendly too! There are a few tables inside but most of the time it's a bit crowded so I get my food to go :) It seems a little pricey but they make it worth it with their portion sizes! Talk about an amazing hole in the wall place where love and passion is made into the food!!! You Guys!!! When I tell you the food here is AMAZING you better believe it!!!!! We wanted to try Southern Soul Food since we were driving through Mississippi and we were blessed that this little hole in the wall fell into our map where we were driving through. There were not to many reviews of this restaurant but me and my wife decided to give it a shot. Once we arrived to Mrs. Faye's we noticed how small it was from the outside, but noticed how people were coming in and out. We parked on the side of the road (since the small parking area was full) and walked inside. Right off the back it was packed and people were laughing and having a great time. We were quickly greeted and then saw the delicious line up of food right in front of us. It was like I was a little kid again during lunchtime and excited to pick out what I wanted to eat from the cafeteria lady! While ordering Mrs. Faye was in the back yelling out to everyone on the fresh pies she had. There was so much to take in, and I loved it! I ended up ordering the Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, Beans, Spaghetti, Smothered Chicken, Cornbread, and Punch. My Wife ordered Hamburger Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Spaghetti, Sausage, Cornbread, and Sweet Tea. And for dessert you better believe we got Mrs Faye's pies she was preaching about! Egg Pie and Coconut Pie! And yes........ we ate it all!!!!! No Regrets!!!! It was delicious and me and my wife gained at least 5 pounds each that day! Oh my goodness, the food at Faye's Kitchen is incredible! Nothing fancy, just good home cooking that can't be beat anywhere! We were here last year on vacation and stopped in again today. As soon as we knew we were going to be in Moss Point, we planned to eat at Faye's Kitchen again. We got there too late today for the chicken & dumplings, so if you want them make sure to go early in the day because they do run out. We had pork neck bones for the first time and they were wonderful! The deep fried pork chops were equally as good, and the fried chicken.....oh, the fried chicken! I'm sure it's the best in Louisiana! And Miss Faye took the time to visit with us, which made our trip even more enjoyable! Our favorite place in Moss Point by far! read more

I live in west Mobile, so Faye's Kitchen sometimes pops up on my recommended list whenever I am browsing Yelp. After finally visiting, I am so glad that it did! I must first comment on how. much. food. they give you at Faye's Kitchen. If you look at my pictures, you can tell that it was easily enough for two meals. . .and I only spent $10.70 on it! The food itself was absolutely amazing. I got the fried chicken, green beans, greens, cornbread, and chicken spaghetti. Believe it or not, my favorite was the chicken spaghetti. It was unlike anything else I've ever had at a southern restaurant - or maybe anywhere else! It was cheesy, creamy, and delicious. Anywhere else, the portion size of the chicken spaghetti alone would be worth $10. Here, it is only the side! And don't forget about dessert! I got a mini pecan pie, which was so tasty and only $1.50. The restaurant is cafeteria style, so everything is hot and ready. When I was there, a line sometimes formed, but you could make it all the way through in ~5 minutes. Lastly, the building isn't the best. It is a little old and small, and the restaurant isn't around much else. Eating inside may not be ideal for everyone, but most of the clientele get their food to go. We heard about from a friend and decided we would give it a shot. My husband said the smothered chicken was the best, it reminded of being at home and eating momma's cooking. I was very pleased and greatly surprised knowing that I worked in Pascagoula for a couple of years and had never heard of this little Jewel! The portion sizes are enormous. I ordered the smothered pork chops with rice and gravy, black eyed peas, and greens with corn bread, red velvet cake and a small helping of hog maws.
