Not even 1 star! It was freezing cold in the restaurant. My chicken was cold, dry, hard, tough, salty and all the sides were grossly nasty. I watched as people shoveled in that horrible mess. They were ripping, pulling and biting hard into that chicken to get it off the bone. I watched as they struggled to chew that tough dry over fried chicken. The gravy is extremely salty. The fried livers were bland and tasteless. The gizzards were extremely tough and chewy with no taste. The green beans are from a can because the taste of tin is there. Tried this little place on a Sunday while visiting the quaint town of Ocean Springs. This is a very popular chicken place that looks like it was once a fast food joint. It had a drive thru but we just walked there from the main streets downtown. We beat the church crowd and found a good seat. We didn't get the all you can eat meals but the little buffet looked yummy with a nice variety of food. We didn't get the 3 piece chicken dinner and we were able to pick our pieces and I was surprised the cost wasn't more if you picked 3 larger chicken pieces but maybe they didn't charge us cause we got 2 chicken legs and 1 breast. It came with 2 sides so we got potato salad and fried okra. All of it was on point! They started getting very crowded so we didn't stay long. But for $13 for our meal I thought it was a good deal and because we shared that was only $6.50 a person. read more

So be prepared to hunt for a parking spot in this small lot. Be patient. Once inside the hustle and bustles lets you know you are about to eat some GOOD food. Pay first, then jump in line for the goodness. Looks like an older fast food place but again don't let that fool you. Servers are making that food happen, if you cannot find a seat they will help. There is so much that is delicious, I am just going to give you my highlights. The butter beans were amazing, as was the fried chicken and the rice and gravy! The chicken livers and gizzards were some of the best I've ever had in my life. So fresh and a the livers were so creamy. Gizzards melt in your mouth. The greens are another highlight. Some of the best chicken I have had - and it was on a buffet! A bit of a divey place, but the food makes it worth coming to. The price $15 per person total with drink for dinner was also nice. A pleasant surprise that in addition to fried and broiled chicken, they had fried fish that I am pretty sure was catfish. The side dishes also were all pretty darn good! Came into town from Texas for a TDY at Keesler and was looking for something that felt truly "Mississippi" to eat. As I was driving into Ocean Springs, I spotted a place with a sign that read "Chicken Buffet." I love chicken, and I love buffets, so I figured, why not? Hands down, it was the best decision I made while in Mississippi. The chicken and catfish were incredible, and they had every Southern side you could think of. So we tried to get in here for dinner one night. It was packed and we thought that was a good sign. However we did not stay. The gravy and other food was congealed and looked like it had been sitting there forever. There were people everywhere touching everything and it looked pretty dirty. The tables were sticky like they had never been cleaned. I am thinking there are better and more hygienic places to eat in the area. We really wanted to try it and wanted to love it but we were not impressed with how dirty it was. Sorry to say we won't be back. read more

It doesn't get any more Mississippi than this! Fried chicken, fried catfish, livers, greens, black eyed peas, Cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrot raisin salad, plus plenty more. The buffet is small but has everything you could need on it. It's in an old fast food joint and everything is served on styrofoam trays like it's 1986. Buffet comes to about $15pp. Kids pay 1.05 per year, which is clever! A must-visit for sure. read more

This is one of those places you must go to when you're in the area. I grew up here, and this restaurant hasn't changed a bit it almost 20 years. They have southern comfort food. The buffet is very small but you can always get extras from the register. The food is always fresh and delicious. The ambiance is old-timey and homey. I just love this place and my friends who are also from the area go here all the time. Don't forget to end your meal with their delicious peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream! read more

Pleasantly surprised, I have been here in Ocean Springs, MS for almost two years and just saw this as a fried chicken joint. It is way more and speaking of the chicken it is great, very good and well seasoned. I actually stopped for the buffet to check it out. Very nice... Several options. The turnip greens are awesome and the buttermilk cornbread, I thought my grandmama made it. The cole slaw was excellent too. The gravy for the rice and potatoes, oh my goodness, very good. The green beans were also very well seasoned. The place was rolling, people in and out and the seating was adequate and it was full too. For $13.75 it is well worth the price. The fried okra was good. They also had several other options and salad too. The bathrooms are clean and the whole place is clean. The place is well worth the visit. I will be back. The staff was excellent and friendly. Now you have to pay before you get started on picking food. They had desserts too, peach cobbler, bread pudding, etc... I didn't try any but they looked great. They have soft served ice cream also. If you are in Ocean Springs, Ms, you need stop and try this place. I am glad I had an opportunity to try this place before I move back to Northern Virginia in a few weeks, but I have enjoyed my time back home in MS, and the food for sure! read more

I'm not usually a bone-in chicken kind of guy, too much work, but geez louise, go for just the side dishes, you'll have green beans, collards, and 'matoes like you've never enjoyed. Corn, mashed, tater salad and more. Really. That hot bar is alone worth the ten bucks. Or just each the cobbler. Go crazy topping it with soft serve. Syrup. Sprinkles. You are in charge. Most of the time it's to take out to Horn Island for the day. The chicken is very good. It's good food to take out on a boat for the day. Don't get me wrong about this review, this is a great casual spot for soul food fare. It's a buffet after all. Please dispose your plate and grab a new one at the buffet. Unlimited refills on drinks. FYI, it started to die down after 8pm. This is a great spot and love it cause it takes cards not just cash only, like the other spot. They offer many different variety of food options. Not only they have fried food. They have a small salad bar, baked chicken not just fried chicken, fried gizzards, fried liver, sweet potatoes, corn bread (tough), sweat corn (little salty), collard greens, sweet rolls, French bread, Tatar sauce, bread pudding, peach cobbler, vanilla soft serve, and etc. it great food for the money; just don't have high expectations for it. FYI best way to get there. East bound on highway 90 exit right after the bridge. They have a back way off Washington Ave but kinda hard to find it. Parking is limited too. The cashier could have been a little friendly but acted upset we were there. She even gave an eye roll that made my mother-in-law upset. I was in the Ocean Springs area and decided to stop in for some of there delicious fried gizzards. My gizzard dinner came with a side and a roll. They also gave me a free drink for being a service member in uniform. I drove all the way to Mobile, Al and my food was still hot (no need for the microwave).
