What a great find... We drive into Lucedale on Saturday morning to get some essentials for the hunting camp. Happen to drive past this goldmine as they were opening and decided to stop and get lunch. Absolutely delicious . Fried pickles for an appetizer, Landmark Burger and Creole Pasta... ice cold beer! King Cake bread pudding to go for dessert! We will be back. A golden, almost bright orange (literally in an Arby's way and, figuratively, golden in a mid 90s sitcom way), chalk-white chicken breast fried grandma's way. Crunch, Juice, Crunch, Repeat. 2) The Non-Sandy Foundation. A bed of pure mashed potatoes. Dass it. 3) The Medieval Mote. Zesty, Cajuny, Creamy, Crawfishy, sauce gravy abounds. Like warm lava, it flows into, above, around, and without the lump mash P. It's passion and spiciness offends the purity of the mash in ways so sinister. 4) The Support Function. The fried jalapenos will accompany that slim bottle of Louisiana hot sauce on the table. Spicy enough "as is" but enhanced with these Table Stakes, so to speak. mmmmm. First time visiting. When we walked in the hostess never greeted us, asked how many in our party nothing just said follow me. The waitress we had was absolutely horrible. It took 10 minutes for her to take our drink order & bring it once she did she never came back. When our food was brought out we had to ask the food runner for a tea refill. The waitress did not come back until it was time to pay. The food was absolutely disgusting. Green beans are canned flavorless, sweet potato fries were cold and hard, the redfish was dry and cold , squash and zucchini flavorless and oily. For the price we expected way more. The only flavor on anything is the crawfish gravy that covers the fish and chicken with spice. Overall I would avoid this establishment at all costs. read more

We had a really good lunch at Landmark Cafe. The stars of the show were the fried shrimp basket and the chicken creole. The creole chicken was a fried chicken breast, topped with a creamy crawfish sauce and fried jalapeño slices. It was served atop some very tasty mashed potatoes. The only letdown was the fettuccine Alfredo, which was just ok. I will blame that on my daughter ordering fettuccine Alfredo at a Cajun restaurant. The service was good, and the restaurant had a really nice, casual atmosphere. I recommend Landmark Cafe if you are ever in the area. read more

I've been going to Landmark for years, even when the old owners were operating it. I have always loved it so much, the hospitality, the food, the atmosphere, the cozy interior, I love it all. Just had to do an updated review to say it's all still just as awesome! My all time favorite meals are the catfish poboy, the macho shrimp fries, the boom boom shrimp tacos, and the redfish. The best side is the sweet potato waffle fries with the caramel sauce! I was just there last week and they are doing some renovating, this was such a surprise to me because it seemed so perfect how it was. I will say, this has nothing to do with the food and it would never stop me from going, but I really don't like the new chairs they've chosen. It made my back hurt and just was not comfortable at all. They're pretty, but not nice to sit in for me. However like I said, this will not keep me away. As long as they keep the same yummy food and great quality, I'll be a customer for life! read more

My wife and I recently traveled to Lucedale, MS. and while we were there ate at Landmark Cafe for lunch. Our sever, Chloe B. was very nice and attentive, providing excellent recommendations. I asked for bang-bang crawfish tacos, which were not on the menu and they were able to accommodate me! My wife had the bang-bang shrimp tacos and both meals were excellent! We splurged on dessert and had the dessert nachos and those were delicious as well. The ambiance is quaint and we were able to sit on the balcony and enjoy a pleasant amount of sunshine, while enjoying the view of the street traffic below us. If you are traveling through Lucedale, I strongly suggest a visit to Landmark Grill!!! read more

They have tons of delicious options, my favorites are the fried green tomato BLT, the mushroom Swiss burger and the Landmark burger! First visit here. Small cute atmosphere. We were seated upstairs. Waitress was very attentive. Food was good. Had boom boom shrimp for appetizers but ate those before we got a picture. This place was awesome. We were traveling to Florida with our golden doodle and they let us bring her and sit on the 2nd floor outside porch. I had a fantastic 10oz choice sirloin cooked medium rare & 'cajun style' - perfect! She had boom boom shrimp tacos and cheese grits - that were great! I also had sauteed onions, coleslaw and cheese grits, and a Voodoo Ranger beer. That steak cost me $22! Less than HALF what it costs in Little Rock or Santa Rosa Beach. In fact - the entire meal including her glass of wine - cost less than JUST my steak at any other place I've eaten in the past two years! I wish I lived near this place! Plus the town of Lucedale is a neat small and friendly town. We enjoyed stopping by the old park to stretch the dogs legs and got some great corn, honey, watermelon and vegetables at the farmers market! Nice people! read more

We found a great new stop on my way to the beach. I found this on yelp and we gave it a try. I had the creole chicken, but subbed for grilled fillet and it was fantastic especially with the spicy fried jalapeños on top. It was very filling and delicious meal at a great price. My husband had a fried shrimp, Poboy and corn casserole. They bring both cocktail and come back sauce for the poor boy, which is nice, the corn casserole was more like corn dressing and sweet - good if you like that kind. We will make this a regular stop - so many options! Also it's a couple of miles off 98 going south and you can go straight from the restaurant to jump back on 98. I ordered the landmark burger medium but it was cooked well done... AND IT WAS STILL AWESOME. I often find fully cooked burgers to be dry and tasteless so I always order them undercooked to save myself the grief but this well done burger was done well- super juicy. Sweet potato waffle fries were, in a word, perfect and the overall portion sizes for the meal were generous. I've been out of town for about 25yrs and this has been the best meal I've ever had in Lucedale. I'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. read more

Excellent! The redfish was delicious, the fried catfish was light and flaky, the pepperjack mac was spot on and the sweet potato waffle fries with caramel sauce was the best ending to a great meal. We are traveling from Texas to Florida - and decided to venture into this cafe. Lucedale is a quaint town all decorated for Christmas. We loved this cafe from first glass. It's old - over 100 years - and we we happy to make the trip to the second floor. The wood floors and exposed brick wall set the stage. Our waitress - Alyssa - was precious.
