The food and service is amazing, along with the ambiance of shopping in a friendly atmosphere either before or after eating. We have been eating the same thing here every week without fail at least once a week, sometimes twice, for years. We have seen prices go up over that time, but recently they completely priced us out. Our bill for 2 fish dinners (1 fried, 1 grilled) was about $45 CASH. The week before it was about $38 with a new cc surcharge. So with that in mind, we paid cash the next week. Unbeknownst to us they had raised the menu prices this next week. That's a huge jump from one week to the next. Plus we always tip very well bc we know not everyone is tipping these girls well. It will get worse for them with this increase. So we were on track to spend $220 a month to support our local catfish house. No, thanks. We have made good friends there, they all know us and put our order in right away when they see us walk to the table. It's a terrible shame, but greed will ruin your business. As a former restaurant entrepreneur, I know what the current wholesale prices are and yes things have gone up, but these prices are outrageous. We now go to the Mexican where my favorite dish is $7.50 and so generous that we have to take boxes home with next meal leftovers. In this time of chaos in our country, the last thing we need is greed to consume our local comfort food eateries. We won't be back until the prices drop to be more reasonable, but we aren't holding our breath either. read more

There's not much to see in George County, MS. Unless, of course, you like rolling hills, beautiful, ancient oak trees and winding two-lane back roads (I'm looking at you, my fellow motorcycle riders). The people there aren't much to speak of, either. Unless, of course, you like being around genuinely good people, in a close-knit, God-fearing community of some of the nicest, most hospitable folks in the South. If you haven't picked up on it yet, I truly enjoyed my latest visit to George County, Lucedale and of course, Rocky Creek Catfish. Some coworkers and I walked in and, after a short wait, were seated in a private dining room where the sweetest little gal started bringing in the nom-noms. Hush puppies and, get this- queso cheese for dipping. Then, coleslaw (of which, I'm not a fan, but I can attest that it was as good as my grandma's and that is a helluva compliment). Next up- French fries and finally, the plates of fried catfish started coming in. Crispy, fresh and delicious- we ate more than I care to admit here, but suffice to say- I left outta there stuffed and satisfied for my trek back home. Our cups never got empty and we never had a moment where we didn't have catfish on our table. We had great service, great food (at a reasonable price), in a nice, clean restaurant located among the oaks of a great little community. What more could you ask for? read more

Occasionally drive over from Alabama to go here. I love the atmosphere. Country cabin like vibe. Employees are very nice. Food is good and prices are about average for a catfish house. Wish they had a slightly broader variety of options on the menu because sometimes I don't want catfish but that is what they are known for so I understand. read more

Worth the drive! I ordered the all-you-can-eat catfish and it along with all the reorders were fresh to order. All the sides (hush puppies, coleslaw, fries etc) paired perfectly with the fish and the sauces and seasonings were amazing. Service was extremely attentive and kept our plates full up till we could eat no more. I was pretty impressed. The ambience was very nice with what seemed to be a year-round Christmas theme and who could complain about that? After eating I did not feel heavy or gross like is possible at all-you-can-eat locations where everything is saturated in unhealthy oils; not the case here! I left completely full and satisfied. Rocky Creek Catfish Cottage is a place you should take all of your visiting family and friends! We had the catfish filets, but you can also have the whole catfish, and they were cooked to perfection! The batter was excellent, crunchy and it let the flavor of the catfish flow thru. The hush puppies were just as good and served with a creamy cheese dip. Who knew this would be such a great combo taste? The slaw was also delicious! We had to try their homemade lemon pie for dessert and it was super good! If you've never been you haven't had the best food this side of the Mason Dixon. The layout is also super southern and very comforting.

Delicious food and great service. Only complaint is the fish only comes "all you can eat". Us older folks might eat one whole fish while the 21 year old next to us eats 4 or 5. I don't mind paying for what I eat but I really don't want to pay for the guy at the next table. A plate with 2 fish or 4 filets with the option of taking home the leftovers would be perfect for us. I guess the older folks' opinion is not very important to most places. I really like Rocky Creek but won't likely go back until they offer a smaller senior portion on their fish. read more
