The food is phenomenal without being too spicy if you ask for a milder version. The menu has tons of vegetarian and vegan options but my personal favorites are the mango chicken, madras chicken and the biryani. The mango lassi and gulab jamun are classics but the menu is varied enough so that the adventurous foodie can explore many new items. I don't eat dairy and the chef was careful to make me things that had no cream or butter in them. The prices are very reasonable for the location and this is truly a family owned small business that does Indian food just right!

If you are in the area, or even if your not, and you want quality Indian that is off blue back square - this is your place. The only downside for us was the curry. We asked for it mild, and it lacked flavor. I assume too tame down the heat they extracted some spices. Which was disappointing. But the chicken and momo was delicious. So highly recommend order - as is.

Unexpectedly nice, mostly good bites…read more Came here because the missus was craving momo. This was off the beaten path of blue back square so it was easier to navigate. There was parking in front but that plaza was fairly busy so the doors were all taken. Inside is decorated well if not slightly dated. There was one server was preparing portions of papad. He gestured us to sit at any open table. He was very attentive after he finished his task, but the initial interaction was very casual. We opted for the momo, a chicken madras, some poori for dipping, pashwari naan for dessert, and a chicken kebab for extra protein. Food came out quick, sat down and dug in. The momo, chicken kebab, and poori were great. Fresh, prepped well and flavorful. The momo were a highlight, made in house and although loose in the filling were seasoned and tasty. The chicken kebabs had little crisp bits of char which worked with the perfectly cooked chicken. And the Marsala sauce on the side was punchy and creamy. Even the pashwari naan was filled with a wonderful fig and cardamom filling but also toasted in salted butter to give it that salty crisp bite. The only bad bite was the curry. Overcooked chicken, no spice and one note. It was a massive disappointment from the rest of the meal. Price was reasonable, cheaper than the high end Indian places but not a bargain. Meal came out to $65, and the only thing not worth the money was the curry. I feel that they purposefully held back on spices because of our appearance, but there wasn't even salt. Never the less, the food here is of a very high caliber. The service is great, and the interior is decorated well. It's worth a try, and maybe a trek if you want momo.

Just Don't Go--Save Your Money…read more I've given Asia Derbar a fair chance, both with the previous owners and now with the new management. The last owners were rude and grumpy, but at least the food had flavor--though I got sick a few times and even ended up in the ER once. Under the new management, things have only gotten worse. Prices have gone up, portions have shrunk, and the overall experience is disappointing. I ordered food for a friend's party, and they delivered a quarter-filled tray of Qorma while charging me the full price for a "full" tray. The Biryani was a full tray, but it doesn't make up for being overcharged and under-served. Honestly, I've lost hope in Desi restaurants. Sorry, but this place is just not for me. I have a big family, and none of us will be coming back--this wasn't even my party, but it left a lasting impression. Save your money and stick to something reliable like Subway.

I'll say first that it took about 20 minutes from placing the order to getting the food. We were two people at 2 pm on a Saturday with no other customers. My gut feeling said that they were making it all fresh to order. At least I hoped that was the reason. Well when they brought it to the table and I took my first bite, I knew. They absolutely made it fresh and made it slap. Fantastic flavor to everything. I had the chicken Kathi roll and the wife had the paneer roll. Both were full of flavor. But when my Mumbai born wife exclaimed "MMMM" when she tried her panipuri, I really knew. She says panipuri is tough to get right in America. Well apparently this place did.

Good Indian fare, nice owners, still needs work on the interior…read more Came here for a dinner trek. There was a noodle shop right next door that was okay, and we wanted to give this new place a try as well. The inside is sparse and still rough with construction. The space use to be a açaí bowl location, and they still had some of the signs and decor from that location here. There's also some ripped up flooring and exposed piping in the middle of the floor. Don't plan on dining in unless you can handle some rough corners. The chef/owner was nice but shy, the wife was much more extroverted and very kind. The chef took the order, the wife took care of the interactions and check ins. Missus really enjoyed interfacing with the lady, she enjoys supporting the local businesses that go in with passion. We got the chicken 65, samosa chaat, and chicken khorma. Food came out steadily, and we dug in. The samosa chaat was good. Spiced lightly, but good flavor. The samosa was slightly cold in the middle, but the flavors were there. The chicken 65 was also lightly seasoned but the chicken crisp and tender. Needed a dipping sauce to impart some extra spice. The portion was large and well done. The chicken khorma was great. Tender chicken thigh with a nutty creamy sauce with a little spice. The highlight of our meal. We also got naan, garlic and peshwari. The garlic was good, very garlic forward but the naan seemed to be very thin. There was a lot of rips and holes through the 4 pieces we got. We also got the peahwari naan, which was little light on the filling but has the right flavors. Pricing was reasonable, especially given the quality vs the portion. It's not a dine-in location as of yet, but the food is perfect for to-go. It's good Indian done well, needs to work on the spice level of their dishes but it's ideal for those who don't like heat. The area surrounding the Berlin, CT Home Depot plaza is developing an unusual culinary niche. There…read moreare not one, but two, sets of businesses with both a World Cuisine food market, and a separate but related restaurant in the same plaza. First there was the Tindahan City Filipino Market and its separate restaurant in the plaza they share with a Domino's. Now, in the plaza with the Super Cuts, there is an "India Foods Market" (which has been around for a while), and a separate "India Foods Restaurant" (which seems to be a few weeks old). India Foods Restaurant seems to focus on street foods such as Dosas, Chaats, Puris and Samosas. I did not notice any meat dishes, or certain entrees that have become familiar in many Indian restaurants in America. No tikka masala, korma or saag, etc. You order at the Counter. There is a small dining section. I elected to dine in. The dining room was more functional than nice. I asked for a recommendation, and the person who helped me recommended the Chole Bhatura. I didn't know what that was, but I went with it. About 10 minutes later, they brought two disposable plates. One had a large compartment of saucy chick peas, a small section of red onion and lime, and a couple chili peppers for additional heat as desired. The second plate had two large Bhatura. If you've had Puri (made with white flour), you'll know what I mean when I say Bhatura (which is made with fermented flour) looks similar to Puri. If you're not familiar with Puri, think of Bhatura as similar to puffed up, fresh out of the oven pita. However, Bhatura is cooked in oil and is lighter. They were good and looked cool. The chickpeas had good texture. The sauce was pretty good. Kind of a golden brown, with earthy mildly spicy seasoning. The red onions, chilis and lime allowed for a bit of customization. I tore the Bhatura, and used the pieces to soak up the sauce, or to make a chickpea and onion taco. A fun way to eat. I enjoyed the Chole Bhatura. I will likely return to explore more of the menu when I need a quick bite. Four Stars
