Dry Creek Deli is an absolute hidden gem in Centennial!…read more My coworkers and I stopped in today, and we all loved it. The deli has such a charming, welcoming vibe and feels like one of those special local spots that quietly does everything right. They know exactly what they're good at and focus on doing it exceptionally well rather than trying to be something they're not. The sourdough bread was a huge highlight for us, and the tuna sandwich was honestly one of the best I've had in a very long time--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The staff were incredibly kind, and a fun detail that made us smile was the person making our sandwiches wearing an olive-themed shirt that perfectly matched the deli's personality and aesthetic. Some of the best places are the ones you'd drive by without realizing what you're missing, and Dry Creek Deli is definitely one of them. If you're looking for a delicious sandwich, friendly service, and a cozy local spot, I can't recommend it enough. A true Centennial gem!

Upon entering, I was greeted so warmly by the cashier and she patiently explained all the toppings on each potato. I finally decided on the CB Ranch Potato to go. My order came out quickly and just as I remember, it was delicious and also hefty so I only ate half and have leftovers for tomorrow.

We had to speak up to a worker to tell them to clean the tables. We waited for 5 minutes for someone to come out and clean the tables. Additionally, the ice cream machine was down. In my person opinion, I could go to any other sandwich deli shop, but instead, I chose Jason's Deli due to the free ice cream. The ice cream machine was down and they did nothing to fix it, nor let customers know it was down. I was impressed however, when they compensated the ice cream with free cookies. Overall, the table and ice cream hospitality was poor, but in a way, they made up for it with the food and cookie compensation.

Service made it even better. If you like it fresh, you'll love Heidi's Brooklyn Deli. Bread and bagels freshly made. Cannolis (yep, had to have one after my breakfast) was the best I have ever had... and in Boston, we have "world famous" cannolis in the North End... that don't even come close to the deliciousness you will find at Heidi's. Needless to say, we will be in the area for 3 days and will return tomorrow for more. We would also go on Sunday but they are closed. By the way, thanks for the free loaf of freshly made bread. It came very handy during our hike of Garden Of The Gods trails. Yep.. one day later, we returned. Left with 4 cannolis this morning. And the Chicken Salad sandwich was so good!!

When we first arrived, they made us wait for a full 10 minutes before even taking our order. While waiting, I was watching the employees make the sandwiches, and staring at the orders like they were written in a different language. It was taking them a full 10 minutes to complete one sandwich order at a time and the line was getting frustrated. All the poor guy wanted in front of us was mayo and mustard on his sandwich and they had to remake it twice! Once we ordered, I asked for avocado on my sandwich and she informed me that it would be a three dollar up charge so I agreed. My husband ordered a sandwich that was $18, and when he received it not only was there hardly any meat on it, but the meat that was on it was mostly fat and he proceeded to pull a very long female hair out of the middle of his sandwich. Then when I opened my sandwich, there wasn't any avocado on it at all. Yet she had still charged me. When I showed the hair to the employee, she asked me if I wanted her to remake the sandwich and I refused because I had already waited for a full 30 minutes. I had to request a refund on my sandwich (which she tried to nickel and dime me on, and wasn't about to give me the $3 back for the avocado) and my husband left hungry. Super bummed because I love Heidi's and hadn't had it in awhile so I was really looking forward to it.

I was also very happy to see how busy they were the last several times as well. It is also a great place to quietly work during breakfast while other places can be so loud!

Don't get me wrong, the ingredients were fresh enough, service was friendly, and the place was clean & neat. BUT the Dolomite (their "Italian" hero), which is the simple, yet complex sandwich that ALL sandwich shops should be judged on, was just fine, and I ended up only eating half of it. Specifically, the inappropriately sesame-seeded bread was too airy & fluffy. The cold cuts were sliced too thickly, and densely piled together into a brick-like slab of meats. It all added up to a sandwich, although carefully made, didn't really satisfy my soul the way a good sandwich should. Unfortunately, I've had the same experience at their shop in Fort Collins, so maybe this style of very pretty, but vapid sandwiches are just not my jam.
