Stoped her for drinks last night and said at the bar, the vibe was very chill. The service was amazing. The bartender asked me what I like and made me a Consuela, which was a citrus mix. Margarita and my friend had the smoky pineapple. Excellent will definitely be back for the food.

    Great drinks; great food.

I got the Canada asada tacos and Pina Picosa. Here on a business trip found this location and was very satisfied, it has a great service and atmosphere!!

First off the food fye. Damn near every taco slaps I'm not kidding. The spicy guac? A hit. Save some for your tacos if you can. Every drink also damn near slaps. I had the Fresa marg, banger. Service is quick almost always, even when they're busy. Vibe is dope too. Outside seating and inside seating are both nice.

Yummmmy drinks! I tried the Hibiscus margarita as well as the Mango one. My drinking companion got the Mixed berry margarita. All of them were so delicious. We weren't really hungry so got some guacamole and salsa. Both were decent. The service was great, she periodically would come by and check up on us but we didn't feel pressured to get anything or leave quickly.

Was with a friend looking for a nice place for mexican food/drinks, and we decided to try this place. We totally loved it! The outdoor seating is very nice and everything was delicious. We both got tacos, and I got a tamarindo marg and my friend got a mango one. I did like the mango one the best but both were great. Would definitely go again!

Lovvvvvvve the vibe here; it's casual and, spacious; great for ladies night out. Cocktails are tasty and fresh (but I do remember them being stronger in the past!) The girls and I inquired about stronger cocktails and our waitress obliged lol; gave us some great recommendations throughout the night for food and drinks. Surprisingly a few of us went with the burger and we were not disappointed! Cooked to perfection; flavorful and juicy! I'll be back! It's a staple for taco Tuesday!

Yum! I came here after a work event with some colleagues and we were seated right away despite not having a reservation, which is always a pleasant surprise! The patio is large and super spacious, so it made a great option for a place to come with a big group. The drinks are everything of a margarita lovers dream. There are SO many margarita options, and even some traditional Mexican beverage options too like sangria, horchata, jalisco old fashion. I went with the jalapeño margarita and I loved it, but buckle up; she's spicy! It comes with half a jalapeño atop it, if you want to make it even spicer. We shared some chips, salsa and guac to start and loved all three. The guac was so fresh! I ordered the carne asada and pollo adobado tacos. Both were flavorful, but the carne asada was my favorite! The tacos are decently sized, but I would probably get one more. Overall great time here and I would absolutely come back to hang on the patio and try some more drinks!

I love this place. We enjoyed the beautiful weather! I love the spicy burger. It comes with a jicama & cucumber kabob. Delicious!! I had the blackberry & rosemary margarita. Great flavors.

We came to this restaurant with some coworkers after an event. When we walked in the hostess showed us to our table, where we were given waters immediately as it as a bit warm outside. They had a spacious patio, with lights as well as a tented area if the weather didn't cooperate. The group started with chips and salad, along with guacamole. Both the salsas were a bit spicy for me but the table loved it! The guacamole was AMAZING, and definitely hit the spot! I had the pineapple sangria, and 3 tacos the fish, pork and steak! The pineapple sangria was DELICIOUS! I definitely wanted to try the Passion Fruit and Mango one too. The fish taco was my favorite, it was light and full of flavor and the pork and steak taco both had a good kick to it! Can't wait to come back and try some of the other drinks and menu items!

Needed some substance to soak up all that liquor that my liver consumed at the Yelp event at Lacuna Lofts. Yelped some restaurants nearby and found Del Toro within walking distance so decided on going there. It was beautiful out so I was so happy that they had a patio! Super spatious and no wait on a Tuesday night. Our server came right away after we were seated and was super friendly. Sorry I forgot your name! Ordered the mandarin drink (forgot if it was a margarita?) but I do know that it is one of the summer flavors they offer, alongside tamarind and other flavors. It was delicious! It had Tajin on the rim and it was a perfect combo! My plus one and I decided on getting the tacos so we ordered carne asada, the shrimp, and al pastor tacos. The carne asada was one of the most flavorful taco that I have ever tasted. It was marinated to perfection and If you decided on no salsa, it still would have been amazing! The al pastor I could have done without, and the shrimp was pretty good. Overall, great place and I would come back again to try other things on their menu.

Del Toro Margarita And Veggie Tacos

A good place for some Mexican-American tequila and food. Del Toro has affordable options if you don't mind not eating as much. It has some pretty strong drinks, mostly like margaritas and lots of quality tequila. Fairly fast service even when it's busy. The food should be spicier but otherwise it's all okay. Good alternative for those wary of food too authentic. It's's easy to find authentic Mexican in Pilsen. There's some who may not want to get that. Maybe they're just too familiar with Taco Bell. Thankfully this is much better than shitty ass fast food. It also has stiff drinks . Last time here we each got a Del Toro Margarita. It's $12 for a pretty small one, about the only complaint. This is made with fresh sour lime, Orange Curaçao, and 3G Blanco tequila. It has lots of salt on the rim. That's not necessary with this already having the authentic salty taste. Skip the rim of salt. The food may be milder but you get stuff like street tacos. Get your choice of protein, or not. We had the Veggie Tacos. It's $4.75 each. These have cilantro, mushrooms, red peppers, squash, and tomatoes. Certainly on weekends it's busy. If you only come with a couple people often there's room at the bar and you won't have to wait long to drink and eat. Tacos are popular but they also have burgers and tortas.

Ask the Community - Del Toro

    Is the patio dog friendly?

Is the outdoor patio open right now? And if so do I need to make a reservation for one? Thanks!

First come first serve so expect to wait more than hour especially weekends

    Is there parking space available?

Metered street parking, but it can be tough to find particularly on weekends.

    Is it kid friendly?

Hi Diane, Del Toro is kids friendly but ONLY before 8:45pm everyday. After that time we are strictly 21+ with a valid ID.

Does this restaurant have space for a table of about 15? Or is it mostly for smaller groups? I was I retested in having my birthday dinner here. Thank you!

I'd take the party somewhere else. The place is too small for a groups of 15.

Do they have a dj or can people dance there?

Unfortunately we do not have a DJ or live music and no dancing.

Open til 3am, what time does the kitchen close?

    There's a tip posted. "Kitchen closes at 11pm Mon-Thurs, 12am Fri & Sat."

Can any of your drinks be made Virgin - non-alcoholic?

Why of course they can. Any restaurant will leave out the alcohol if you ask them to.

    Are kids allowed here?

Hello Panfila, yes kids are welcomed to dine in before 9 pm(restaurant opens at 5pm) after that time it is 21+. Hope this helps

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

People were standing right behind me to order drinks; I didn't feel overly crowded by any means but some who aren't used to that kind of bar/clubby vibe might feel that way. The music was a little loud to be heard over all the folks there, but I wasn't talking to anyone so it didn't bother me (was just sitting and reading a book). The bartender was really nice and attentive despite the fact that the place was so packed. I had a drink called the "Gentle Fish" which the bartender rec'd as a sweeter/more floral drink. Admittedly it was a little strong, but the flavor was nice! It was different from most other drinks I've had, and I enjoyed it. Was strong enough I definitely did not need another though. Of note, this place is downstairs under "The Hoxton" hotel, there's no entrance directly to the bar from the sidewalk/street (you have to enter the hotel lobby, then follow the signs toward the back and go down the elevator and/or stairs). There is a person who checks your ID when you enter and seats you if seats are available. The bathrooms were very clean. The only thing that was frustrating was that they were trying to kick us out towards the end of the night to close out early and we were having a great time and didn't want to leave. But highly recommend!
