Tequila shots - Two champagne flutes filled with a clear, bubbly beverage are positioned on a wooden table. Each glass is garnished with a lime wedge on the rim. The background shows a restaurant interior with large windows, blurred patrons, and ambient lighting, indicating a casual dining environment.

First off the food fye. Damn near every taco slaps I'm not kidding. The spicy guac? A hit. Save some for your tacos if you can. Every drink also damn near slaps. I had the Fresa marg, banger. Service is quick almost always, even when they're busy. Vibe is dope too. Outside seating and inside seating are both nice.

Hibiscus margarita and mixed berry margarita - The image shows a wooden dining table with baskets of tortilla chips, bowls of guacamole and salsa, and two berry cocktails garnished with fruit. One cocktail has a strawberry and kiwi, while the other has a lemon wedge. There are also empty glasses and plates, with people seated around the table, suggesting a casual dining setting.

Yummmmy drinks! I tried the Hibiscus margarita as well as the Mango one. My drinking companion got the Mixed berry margarita. All of them were so delicious. We weren't really hungry so got some guacamole and salsa. Both were decent. The service was great, she periodically would come by and check up on us but we didn't feel pressured to get anything or leave quickly.

Was with a friend looking for a nice place for mexican food/drinks, and we decided to try this place. We totally loved it! The outdoor seating is very nice and everything was delicious. We both got tacos, and I got a tamarindo marg and my friend got a mango one. I did like the mango one the best but both were great. Would definitely go again!

A beverage served in a short, clear glass with a salted rim. The drink is pinkish-red and contains ice cubes. A sprig of rosemary is placed as a garnish on top of the drink. The glass is on a wooden table, with a blurred background suggesting an indoor setting.

Lovvvvvvve the vibe here; it's casual and, spacious; great for ladies night out. Cocktails are tasty and fresh (but I do remember them being stronger in the past!) The girls and I inquired about stronger cocktails and our waitress obliged lol; gave us some great recommendations throughout the night for food and drinks. Surprisingly a few of us went with the burger and we were not disappointed! Cooked to perfection; flavorful and juicy! I'll be back! It's a staple for taco Tuesday!

The image shows an outdoor dining area at a restaurant with several tables and chairs occupied by patrons. String lights are hung overhead, illuminating the space as evening falls. The background includes a building with a billboard and a tented section for additional seating. People are engaged in conversations, and some staff members are visible serving or attending to guests.

Yum! I came here after a work event with some colleagues and we were seated right away despite not having a reservation, which is always a pleasant surprise! The patio is large and super spacious, so it made a great option for a place to come with a big group. The drinks are everything of a margarita lovers dream. There are SO many margarita options, and even some traditional Mexican beverage options too like sangria, horchata, jalisco old fashion. I went with the jalapeño margarita and I loved it, but buckle up; she's spicy! It comes with half a jalapeño atop it, if you want to make it even spicer. We shared some chips, salsa and guac to start and loved all three. The guac was so fresh! I ordered the carne asada and pollo adobado tacos. Both were flavorful, but the carne asada was my favorite! The tacos are decently sized, but I would probably get one more. Overall great time here and I would absolutely come back to hang on the patio and try some more drinks!

Blackberry rosemary margarita! Yum!! - Two blackberry rosemary margaritas with ice and a blackberry garnish are served in short glass tumblers on white napkins. The drinks are on a black metal outdoor table, with chairs and a wooden fence visible in the background. One margarita is in the foreground, and the other is slightly blurred in the background. The setting appears to be an outdoor patio at a restaurant or bar.

I love this place. We enjoyed the beautiful weather! I love the spicy burger. It comes with a jicama & cucumber kabob. Delicious!! I had the blackberry & rosemary margarita. Great flavors.

Fish taco, pork taco, steak taco - Three tacos with different fillings are arranged on a white oval plate. Each taco is topped with chopped vegetables, herbs, and sauces. Two lime wedges are placed on the plate for seasoning. The image appears to be taken in a restaurant setting, with a dark background and a textured surface nearby.

We came to this restaurant with some coworkers after an event. When we walked in the hostess showed us to our table, where we were given waters immediately as it as a bit warm outside. They had a spacious patio, with lights as well as a tented area if the weather didn't cooperate. The group started with chips and salad, along with guacamole. Both the salsas were a bit spicy for me but the table loved it! The guacamole was AMAZING, and definitely hit the spot! I had the pineapple sangria, and 3 tacos the fish, pork and steak! The pineapple sangria was DELICIOUS! I definitely wanted to try the Passion Fruit and Mango one too. The fish taco was my favorite, it was light and full of flavor and the pork and steak taco both had a good kick to it! Can't wait to come back and try some of the other drinks and menu items!

A basket filled with crispy, salted tortilla chips is placed on a table, accompanied by a small white bowl of green salsa with a spoon inside. The table appears to be outdoors, with a glass of water, a pair of red sunglasses, and other items visible in the background.

Needed some substance to soak up all that liquor that my liver consumed at the Yelp event at Lacuna Lofts. Yelped some restaurants nearby and found Del Toro within walking distance so decided on going there. It was beautiful out so I was so happy that they had a patio! Super spatious and no wait on a Tuesday night. Our server came right away after we were seated and was super friendly. Sorry I forgot your name! Ordered the mandarin drink (forgot if it was a margarita?) but I do know that it is one of the summer flavors they offer, alongside tamarind and other flavors. It was delicious! It had Tajin on the rim and it was a perfect combo! My plus one and I decided on getting the tacos so we ordered carne asada, the shrimp, and al pastor tacos. The carne asada was one of the most flavorful taco that I have ever tasted. It was marinated to perfection and If you decided on no salsa, it still would have been amazing! The al pastor I could have done without, and the shrimp was pretty good. Overall, great place and I would come back again to try other things on their menu.

Del Toro Margarita And Veggie Tacos - A white plate holds two veggie tacos topped with diced vegetables such as avocado, tomato, and possibly peppers, with a small cup of green sauce in the center. A margarita with lime and ice is placed on a napkin on the dark, reflective table surface. The setting appears to be in a dimly lit restaurant or bar.

A good place for some Mexican-American tequila and food. Del Toro has affordable options if you don't mind not eating as much. It has some pretty strong drinks, mostly like margaritas and lots of quality tequila. Fairly fast service even when it's busy. The food should be spicier but otherwise it's all okay. Good alternative for those wary of food too authentic. It's's easy to find authentic Mexican in Pilsen. There's some who may not want to get that. Maybe they're just too familiar with Taco Bell. Thankfully this is much better than shitty ass fast food. It also has stiff drinks . Last time here we each got a Del Toro Margarita. It's $12 for a pretty small one, about the only complaint. This is made with fresh sour lime, Orange Curaçao, and 3G Blanco tequila. It has lots of salt on the rim. That's not necessary with this already having the authentic salty taste. Skip the rim of salt. The food may be milder but you get stuff like street tacos. Get your choice of protein, or not. We had the Veggie Tacos. It's $4.75 each. These have cilantro, mushrooms, red peppers, squash, and tomatoes. Certainly on weekends it's busy. If you only come with a couple people often there's room at the bar and you won't have to wait long to drink and eat. Tacos are popular but they also have burgers and tortas.

Strawberry margarita - A strawberry margarita is presented in a short, clear glass with a salted rim and a slice of strawberry on the edge. The drink has a reddish-orange hue and is served with ice. The glass is placed on a white napkin on a wooden table, with other drinks and people visible in the background, indicating a social dining setting.

The prettiest margarita I ever did see! Perfect balance of strawbery to tequila! I didn't have the food but friends said it was alright. I think they needed to turn up the AC as it was a bit warm inside and they were out of a couple of things. I would return here for cocktails and outside seating as inside felt a little stuffy.

On this night we visited one of my faves, Del Toro in Pilsen. This place is so modern and cozy. It has a great outdoor area when the weather is nice. But they bang out some awesome Mexican street food! Their manue is limited to traditional dishes like tacos, burritos sopes and some great appetizers like ceviche and carne Apache. What's so different about this place that makes me travel across the city for a burrito? For... street food? Well. It's like walking on a regular street if down Michigan Ave! The place is nice and service is great, but the food and ambiance make this an upscale food experience. . BUT... the food is not the only highlight of the place. They have concocted some of the BEST TASTING drinks known to man. Margaritas? They have 14 flavors. Beers? Yep, 21 to choose from. Whiskey? 9 to choose from. Tequilas? 23 white, reposado and añejo plus 31 extra aged / reserved... and tons of high quality mixed drinks. . Phew. That was a lot. Try the burrito, it's awesome. Try a margarita. Or a tequila, or whiskey. One thing is for sure. You'll like it here.

Ask the Community - Del Toro

    Is the patio dog friendly?

Is the outdoor patio open right now? And if so do I need to make a reservation for one? Thanks!

First come first serve so expect to wait more than hour especially weekends

    Is there parking space available?

Metered street parking, but it can be tough to find particularly on weekends.

    Is it kid friendly?

Hi Diane, Del Toro is kids friendly but ONLY before 8:45pm everyday. After that time we are strictly 21+ with a valid ID.

Does this restaurant have space for a table of about 15? Or is it mostly for smaller groups? I was I retested in having my birthday dinner here. Thank you!

I'd take the party somewhere else. The place is too small for a groups of 15.

Do they have a dj or can people dance there?

Unfortunately we do not have a DJ or live music and no dancing.

Open til 3am, what time does the kitchen close?

    There's a tip posted. "Kitchen closes at 11pm Mon-Thurs, 12am Fri & Sat."

Can any of your drinks be made Virgin - non-alcoholic?

Why of course they can. Any restaurant will leave out the alcohol if you ask them to.

    Are kids allowed here?

Hello Panfila, yes kids are welcomed to dine in before 9 pm(restaurant opens at 5pm) after that time it is 21+. Hope this helps

It was no wonder when we arrived that there was a line out the door. We waited around 45 minutes, and the bouncer was a really nice fellow who kept track of the numbers and people at the door. Upon entering, we were immersed in a dimly lit retro-style lounge. It was quite loud inside and packed as we walked to our seats. The server was great at taking our orders and offering suggestions. I opted for the French 75, which featured sparkling wine and mixed gin, brandies, and citrus. The drink was delicious, but STRONG. I don't know what they put in the cocktails in America, but I am always finished after one drink. Needless to say, we were all struggling to finish our own drinks. My favourite touch was the coasters, I ended up keeping all of them so that I can reuse them at my galentines event next year. The 'bisous' with the kiss on the other side is a perfect touch! I think the drinks are fairly priced for USD. I would love to return someday to try other drinks and bar bites, and also try their sister bar, Sparrow.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

The absinthe mist, despite being just that, has a way of doing that. I want to give some credit to the service.
