I came to Del Posto for dinner a while ago. The service was good, the restaurant had a less common interior (bricks) which was nice, and the atmosphere was quite cozy as it wasn't that busy. In terms of food and drink, I tried the Orangina and Penne Panna. The drink came in an interesting looking bottle. The pasta was good with an ample amount of penne, shrimp, scallops, leeks, tomatoes, and sauce. The shrimp, scallops, and tomatoes complimented the pasta and sauce quite well. The leek reduced some of the creaminess, but it was slightly overwhelming towards the end. The bread was good as well. Overall, I'd give the experience 8.3/10 read more

There were 5 of us that decided to try this place for Dining Week for 7:30 PM. We had a reservation but didn't really need it. The restaurant wasn't very busy. We were seated immediately. Our server was great! She took our drink orders and then came back to take our food orders. We were comparing the prices for Dining Week to the regular menu and there was no "deal" like other restaurants. In most cases, you end up paying more by ordering the Dining Week menu. Our appetizers took an hour to come out after we ordered. We asked our server, who was very apologetic and mentioned there was only 2 chefs in the kitchen. By the time we finished our appetizers, the server told us that our entrees had just been started. So another 30 minute wait for those. The food itself was great tasting and large portions but the wait was completely unacceptable. When we complained to the server and mentioned that we'd like to speak with the owner, she called them and at first was told that our wait time was very typical and there was nothing they'd do. The owner must have changed their mind as they gave us a 25% discount for the issue. Considering this owner has other restaurants, some I've been to, I was surprised how this one was run. **Worst experience ever.** We made a reservation from out of town, arriving 2.5 hours before our concert in Edmonton. The restaurant was nearly empty, and they knew we were on a tight schedule. Yet, it took 50 minutes just to get a round of five drinks--mostly draft beers, since a vodka soda wasn't an option. We even had to point out our choices from the limited cocktail menu, only to be told 20 minutes later that some of our selections still weren't available . The server had to call someone to learn how to make an Old Fashioned, which was on the menu . We watched her scoop foam out of our beers, leaving them on the bar to get warm for another 15 minutes. We finally insisted on placing our food order. It arrived half an hour later--one pizza, one salad, one risotto, and three appetizers. The food was not terrible, which is the highest praise I can give. Another table, also with a reservation and attending the same concert, arrived an hour after us and endured the exact same awful service. Save your time, money, and sanity . Located right on 107st this Italian restaurant is close to everything. The restaurant is decently located and the decorations are nothing special. The service was extremely slow. Took about 1 hour for the server to get our orders. Then it took about 30 minutes to get our food. The service seemed very unorganized. Came here for dinner during Downtown Dining week. Reservations easily made via OpenTable. Service was pleasant. Food quality and quantity is very respectable. Bruschetta and caprese solid starts to our meal. Bolognese and pescatore pasta dishes tasty and executed well. Margherita Pizza was also solidly executed and a great option for my kiddo. The only disappointment were the dessert options tied to the set menu. Tiramisu was one of my least favourite tried (I'm usually a huge fan) as it wasn't creamy enough and relied too heavily on lady fingers plus taste was off balance. Zeppoles (mini donuts) were oddly tough and chewy and not in a pleasant way. Neither dessert was finished. So skip those desserts and save room for appetizers and mains. read more

Great fresh tomatoes and soft bocconcino (sp) cheese on the caprese salad. Excellent lunch special and a lunch sized pasta. All were great. Service was good as well though the music made hearing and speaking hard. read more

We decided to give this place a shot after seeing their menu listed on the Downtown Dining Week page. And we weren't disappointed! This place used to be a Vietnamese restaurant, but switched over to Italian in June 2020. Quite a challenging time to open up a new restaurant in downtown Edmonton during a pandemic! But, you should really give it a shot because the food and experience overall was pretty fantastic! We made a reservation for 6pm and glad we did as it filled up quickly. Our server was very friendly and knew the menu well. We placed our food order around 6:15. I opted for the $35 menu from the Downtown Dining week and chose the Arrancini balls, the Penne Con Pollo e Pancetta as the pasta and the Tiramisu for dessert. My spouse went with Piccante pizza for his entree. Our server brought out some warmed buns and it took quite awhile for the arrancini balls to come out. We weren't bothered by the delayed serving time, but some people could be. This is the only "glitch" of the evening and the one disappointment, but it was fixed by our server. The arrancini balls came out luke warm and the sauce that came with it was cold. I don't think it was an issue of it sitting under a warming plate too long, because the cheese in the middle of the ball was still in chopped form, it hadn't been melted at all. The flavor was very good and this little issue wouldn't stop us from ordering it again. We did tell our server and she asked if we wanted a new order, a fresh order to take home, or a different appetizer. We chose the Bruschetta in replacement and it was very good. A touch too much garlic (and I love garlic), but overall we enjoyed them quite a bit. It did take awhile for our entrees to come out (over an hour), but both dishes were fantastic! My pasta was hot, the sauce was creamy and flavorful, big chunks of chicken and I really enjoyed it! My spouses pizza was very large, and the meat was delicious as well. It had a bit of a spice to it which was great. And last but not least was the tiramisu. It came in a martini cup and while I haven't had a lot of tiramisu desserts, so I can't claim knowledge on how traditional it was, we enjoyed it quite a bit. It was creamy, had a nice coffee flavor to it and was perfect to split between the two of us. Even with the minor issue of the arrancini balls, we really enjoyed our meals and would definitely go back. Their prices for their food is all very reasonable and the portions are huge! There were only 2 servers on a Friday night, and I don't think they were expecting to be that busy. They were at Covid capacity, so an extra server or bus person would have been helpful to both of them. We did have wine, beer and water as beverages and would have ordered more if we had been asked. It took around an hour for our water to be refilled, we ate most of our entrees without any beverages as we had already finished our wine, beer and water. Our dining experience was about 2 hours from start to finish. Our server was very friendly and we're not going to let a couple of minor things stop us from coming back. Came here with a few friends, we all ordered a drink, appy, dinner and dessert. First, the service was slow. Super slow. The waitress never asked if we wanted a second drink, which we did, or took our empty glasses. Dinner was ok. Not great but ok. Large portion. Dessert was horrible. 2 of us Ordered the tiramisu and it was quite possibly the worst I've ever had. Was just a mushy dry mess. Definitely not soaked in espresso, just horrible. If it's busy, stay away. We went during Downtown Dining week and it was chaotic, to say the least. Their website doesn't confirm reservations and they were turning people away even though tables sat empty for over an hour. Food is slow and they need someone running the orders to the tables. We sat in a random table close to the bar and kitchen so I saw orders sitting on the pass through for up to 10 minutes. Unfortunately, our bruschetta was soggy as a result. Food was okay, but not enough to come back. Especially when I can get the same garlic bread in the freezer section and salad mix at the grocery store. The servers seem good but the poor management is where this restaurant suffers. Short staff on a busy weekend (downtown dining week) along with a new bartender who didn't know how to make drinks is a bad combination. Too bad the manager didn't care enough to help pick up the slack. I'm honestly surprised this place has been open as long as it has. read more

We started out with high hopes - seeing the other reviews and photos on the website I thought we might have a great meal. I was so wrong, and the meal was an utter disappointment. First I will say the price of the menu is good. Unfortunately that is where the good stops. I had the pescatore, my wife had the gnocchi, and my son had a pizza. The tomato sauce for my dish was way too thick and old, like it had been sitting in a hot well dying a slow death. I don't know when the seafood in the pescatore was cooked but it wasn't freshly done. The shrimp on top were cooked on a grill and unfortunately I could taste everything else that was cooked on the grill from that night. The gnocchi when it arrived was spilling over onto the rim of the bowl and the gnocchi could have been purchased from a grocery store near by. For the pizza the dough was nice but it truly lacked flavour. On a Friday night I would expect the A team to be on but sadly I don't think that was the case. read more

We've been here twice in the past two weeks. This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Edmonton and beyond. The service was amazing. The waiter was very personable and friendly. The ambiance is classic Italy. And the food. Oh the food! It was perfecto. So delicious. So flavourful. Every bite was pure heaven. The portions are big. We were shocked by how much food we got. I had the Penne Con Pollo e Pancetta Chicken and my husband had the Tagliatelle Florentine. And we shared a bruschetta. Wow!! We will be back many many more times. Made a reservation for five to celebrate my friends birthday over dinner. It was our first time coming to a Del posto. It was not busy as there might've been one or two other parties there in the restaurant. We were entirely disappointed with the food, even though our server was very nice. It was our server making our drinks and it was evident she was not experienced in making drinks or cocktails as she did not know what a Shirley Temple consisted of. However, she was very nice and attentive. The fries one of us ordered were way too salty. They were saltier than McDonald's fries. The margarita pizza did not have enough sauce on it and was dry, the gnocchi pasta I ordered, was dry and makes me wonder whether it's frozen then thawed out and cooked. It did not taste like fresh pasta. The Panini was very soggy, the Bolognese pasta was some thing you could easily make at home and did not meet the $25 cost of the dish. The bottles of wine there are overly priced. Overall, we were not impressed with the food and beverages and will not be coming back. A hidden gem! We recently moved into the neighbourhood and walked past Del Posto numerous times when it was still closed. It had such an appealing look through the windows, with the wood tables and white tablecloths that we were looking forward to the day it actually opened. Today we finally got to try it . We had lunch there and weren't disappointed. Besides the wonderful atmosphere, the food at Del Posto was authentic, tasty and generous. From the martinis to start, which were made to perfection, to the mussels and Caprese salad, everything exceeded our expectations. The owner of the restaurant was friendly and accommodating and made sure we were well looked after. This is definitely a place that we will return to. read more
