Very good meal I. Had the chef special nice and clean place will be going back great service

the best Italian food we have had in ages and very reasonable prices. highly recommended.

Wonderful food and polite quality service. I ordered the garden salad with house Italian. It was about half green lettuce and the other half mixed vegetables such as onions, carrots, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. The bread is as warm and soft and was delicious dipped in olive oil with garlic and basil. The chicken Parmesan was really tasty and I loved their spaghetti mixed with a tomato, garlic and onion sauce. My wife had a vegetable pizza that was chocked full of spinach, tomato and onion plus her lunch special came with a small Caesar salad. read more

Portion size has significantly decreased since last ate here; almost half as much food. Still tasty though

Wouldn't go back, weird atmosphere and the food wasn't that great. Staff seem friendly but it didn't make up for the bad food which I later got sick from read more

My family loves to go to Modo Mio! The portions are generous and the warm rolls to dip in the garlic olive oil are always fresh and disappear quickly at our table. Service is friendly and the pasta dishes are always hot. I usually get the penne sausage with baked cheese on top as recommended by the owner/operator/server. There is usually enough to take home for another meal. Prices are very reasonable too! read more

The floor was sticky. It was honestly the first thing I noticed. Uncomfortably sticky - at the back of the restaurant where our table was anyway. My brother and his kids love this place. They talk about it all the time. So when I was finally able to make it out there with them, I was excited to see what all the hype was about. The service was friendly... but that's about all I can say really. A couple of people at the table got the Spaghetti and Meatballs, and that looked good, though I didn't try it. My mom had the shrimp scampi. I don't eat shrimp, but I tried a bite of the pasta with the sauce. For a pasta dish, this was really light and fresh tasting. I enjoyed my one bite, but she said after about a 1/4 of the dish, the lemon was really overpowering. She did take her leftovers home, but ended up throwing them away when she realised it had given her really bad gas (sorry for sharing that, mom!) I had the fettuccine Carbonara. I should have known better, since the menu said it came with an alfredo sauce, as well as the traditional egg. But the picture of it in the menu looked amazing. And the first bite was. After that, it was just entirely too rich. I ate about a quarter of it. I got it boxed up but did not end up eating it. We shared a Tiramisu at the table after our meals. It was incredibly bland. Barely any flavour at all. read more

There was fruit flies in the dining room, the pasta tasted average and the service was atrocious

Love the food, hate the service. Have been here a few times and every time the service is really lacking. You Can barely get a refill and the ladies we have had are not very friendly at all. Twice we were seated and did not get bread until the main was at the table, where other got bread almost immediately. However the food is delicious the prices are fair and the serving sizes are large. Really enjoyed the pasta dishes. I am addicted to the lemon wine sauce and could eat that on anything anywhere. My husband loves the chicken fettuccine and loves the Alfredo sauces and the meat sauces. We got the Calamari and was a little disappointed in the seasoning. They had almost no flavor although were cooked nicely and were not rubbery. Would have again although would need extra lemon salt and pepper. I decided to bypass the service and order take out one day and was shocked at how rude the lady on the phone was to me. The first lady was extremely rude impatient right from the get go. Right away I asked what the special were for the day and she grunted, put the phone on the counter and just left me listening to air until another lady came on the phone to start the conversation all over again. This lady was slightly better however made it clear that I was wasting her time and that they were very busy and my business was unimportant. I have to give this place Two star based on the service. Hopefully they will be able to find servers who understand tips are not mandatory and you catch more flies with honey than with a punch in the face. read more

Modo Mio - Pasta Primavera - So yummy, you can even add chicken! - Italian Near Me - Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

This place was great. Prob not going to find a better place unless you go into YEG. Tons of tasty looking menu items.

Best Spaghetti sauce I've ever had! But the restaurant decor leave a lot to be desired. Don't let it stop you from trying it thou.

Nice place. I had the 29.99 deal, (pick a starter, entrée, and desert). The greek salad was very fresh and tasty. After that was the entrée, seafood risotto- which came out piping hot and looked like it belonged on the cover of Food Magazine. Very tasty! The desert was good, but I'll probably go with something other than the keylime pie next time. I'm glad I stopped there, and will again soon. If in the Fort Sask' area, I'd recommend the place. read more

Nice little Italian restaurant with authentic food in the middle of nowhere. Great service and great food!

Absolutely delicious. The server, was the best server we have ever had at any restaurant. I can't even explain how absolutely delicious and fresh the food is here! Sooooo worth it! And filling! I wish I didn't live 5 hours away I would come here on a regular basis. read more

My favourite place to go In the fort for pasta. Super nice people there, small quiet setting, and delicious pasta. Reasonably priced too, with tons of extra pasta for left over lunch. Always my number 1 choice to go to for Friday night date night with my hubby ! read more

In the Fort for work, and a business associate (who also comes here frequently, and just so happens to be "from Italy" Italian) recommended that I check this place out. Glad I did! If you're staying at the Hampton, definitely give this place a try (and if you're elsewhere, also consider giving it a try). A coworker and I split the really good, generous portion of calamari. It was lightly and well seasoned, and lightly fried - not that "everything in the spice cabinet" that you get in other spots. I'm a bit ashamed to note this, but I was also a big fan of the bread basket that came with dinner. I had the "Chef's Favourite Pasta," a huge portion of tortellini with shrimp in a lemony caper alfredo sauce. It's not for the sodium-averse, and it's not health food (hea-a-a-vy), but it did hit the spot on a -15 degree evening. My coworker had a special, the Seafood Risotto. Another gigantic and heavy portion, but apparently really good. She's a tiny thing, and she pretty much cleaned that plate. The service was really warm and friendly, and while the restaurant isn't exactly fancy, it was still very comfortable and cute. Locals also really like it, apparently - the lot was full and so were the tables (which, coincidentally did not impede service). I'll definitely be back when I find myself in Fort Saskatchewan. read more

First time eating in at the restaurant and it is amazing service! The waiter was super pleasant and happy to be here, not to mention the food was amazing, fresh and great potion sizes. Will definitely come back. read more

Tried Modo Mio for the first time the other day and was blown away. Flavour was fantastic. best bruschetta I have ever had. Chef's favourite was a fantastic choice, creamy sauce over tortellini. We also ordered Sliced Italian Sausage and it was extremely flavourful and a tad spicy. Would recommend 10/10 read more

Modo Mio is probably one of the many underrated in Fort Saskatchewan. Modo Mio is an affordable restaurant that makes AMAZING food. The people who work there are really kind and are well liked by my family and I. The atmosphere of this restaurant is usually calm and very quiet, the lights are not too bright either which makes it friendly for Autistic individuals and others that have troubles in crowded and noisy areas, which I really admire as there are not too many places like that. I find that Modo Mio is a good family friendly restaurant without being disgusting as I find it to be very clean. read more

Haven't had a bad meal yet !!!! So yummy ! Great portion sizes leaving me with lunch for two days !! If you haven't been yet give it s try ! They know there pasta ! read more

Caesar salad was nothing more than a bag salad with bottled dressing. Dont order it. Pasta was decent but nothing special.

This restaurant is excellent! Gluten free pasta! Staff are pleasant. The service has not slid since they opened which is what usually happens in the Fort. I've been twice and will continue to go. It is closer than Chianti's. read more

Food was amazing. The service was a bit slow but was extra friendly. The decor of the restaurant doesn't do the food justice. It has a dated, low budget appearance but the food and friendly service more than makes up for any other short comings. Prices were very reasonable. All in all, with a couple of minor tweaks this place is a five star diamond in the rough. We will definitely be back. read more

Had a 65th Birthday Party for my husband there last night and everything was wonderful! All our guests raved about all the delicious food! The staff just outstanding...and made our evening a real success! Couldn't have found a better venue for our party! read more

food is good, service sucks/ employees are rude. For that reason I just order take out if I'm really craving it.

The restaurant was a surprise. The menu covered most varieties of Italian cuisine. Prices were very reasonable. The shrimp pasta dish had a unique homemade sauce that was very good. There was plenty of shrimp and pasta. The steak portion of the steak and lobster dish was gently spiced and properly cooked. The potatoes and vegetables were well seasoned and grilled. The lobster was uniquely seasoned and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and prompt. We will return. read more

Enjoyed the opportunity to lunch at Modo Mio today as we were in Fort Saskatchewan for medical appointments (live in Sherwood Park). Sad to learn they've stopped serving my favourite eggplant dish but happy that it has been requested and it is being reconsidered for inclusion on the menu. They served a lovely, thick minestrone today which was seasoned perfectly but not piping hot. As always, portion sizes were huge and a terrific value and the service prompt and friendly. It was a nice treat to ourselves and I have plenty of leftovers to satisfy me for at least 2 more meals! read more

I love this place. My husband and I went for the first time in January, (hubby doesn't like pasta so it took me months to convince him to try it) we both loved it. It's definitely our go to place in the Fort. Friendly staff, good portions for the price and our food has always come out hot!! read more

Food is normally good but sometimes it's hit and miss depends who is cooking that day!!!! I wouldn't try steak tho it's like chewing on a piece of cardboard. Lobster tail is tasty and pasta is the best just stay away from steak or anything else that isn't pasta!!! read more
