This place is great! When we walked in there was no hostess to put our name on the waitlist but there were people waiting around. We came by and they were two large parties ahead of us on the waitlist as well as around five parties of 2. They told us the wait till be around 30 minutes. I grabbed a menu to show my husband while we were waiting so our wait didn't seem that long. They finally seated the two of us at a large booth. The waitress was very friendly. There was a nice huge chalkboard with three today's specials. I started off ordering the hot PB Man drink which can come blended, iced, or hot. My husband ordered a strawberry smoothie. The fruit smoothies are made with frozen fruit except for the strawberry smoothie which is made with fresh strawberries since it's strawberry season. The PB Man tasted nothing like peanut butter. It just tasted like a mocha but it was still good. The strawberry smoothie tasted a bit watery, but it was fresh and no added sugars. Just a light strawberry flavor. For the food, we ordered a bacon avocado egg Benedict and a chicken fried steak. The chicken fried streak was not overly huge but a good portion and it was so tender and good! The eggs were made perfectly. The hash browns were moist but the top later was perfectly crispy. Even the English muffins were perfectly buttered. Service was great! We are very satisfied. The women's bathroom had two stalls. One was huge but didn't have toilet paper on the roll. But there was a roll on the handicapped handle bar. I'm not sure if this is a good thing for handicapped people. In case the roll falls on the ground it will be hard for them to pick it up. The other stall was super dark. read more

We have a couple meals a month here and it's always top notch. The food comes to the table hot and tasty. We've never had a problem with the food or the great servers. Speaking of service Debbie was our server the last couple of times here and she is fantastic! She never forgets us no matter how busy the place is and always has a smile and a warm greeting! Pretty friendly staff here. I recommend getting the French toast. It had a great texture, and I really liked the bread used. It was soft and chewy and cooked well with eggs. The problem is the food comes out at different temperatures he might have hashbrowns and cold eggs or hot bacon and cold hashbrowns and warm eggs. Rarely does it all come out the same temperature. What a disappointment! My husband and I have eaten here when passing through Redding over the past several years and it was always fantastic. No longer. We did not eat any breakfast and drove for hours from Oregon, saving our appetites and looking forward to another great veggie omelette, some crispy hash browns and based on our previous experiences, a completely delicious brunch. Instead, we got mushy vegetables in a crappy omelette, tasteless and watery hash browns, and a generally yucky meal. OK, the pancakes were good, but how hard is that? And thank heavens for the Equator coffee. But what happened here? New owners perhaps, who are too cheap to buy fresh ingredients? A new chef who is lazy and doesn't care? Whatever happened, the food is now an embarrassment and not worth the effort we made to get here. How sad. read more

We were in Redding for a weekend and based on other Yelp reviews, we came here for brunch. There was about a 25 minute wait, which was fine because they have a coffee shop attached to the restaurant. We got a drink and sat in there and played checkers until the table was available. The customer service was great. Hostess and server were both very nice. However, the food was really lacking. I ordered a BLT Benedict (I modified their BAS Benedict) with has browns. Husband ordered corned beef hash with home fries and poached eggs. Kids got scrambled cheese eggs and mouse pancake. Other than the pancake, which was delicious, the food was all very tasteless and bland. I was eating my bennie and really thought that my tastebuds must be off, because there was absolutely no flavor. It was really strange. I kept adding salt and pepper, but still...nothing. I said something to my husband that I must be getting a cold, because there was just no taste to anything. He said that his was also pretty bland. The meat was cooked fine, but there were no spices or really any flavor. We both commented that even the salt and pepper had no taste. Scrambled eggs were the same, but my daughters' pancake was really good. It was a little crispy around the edges and cooked perfectly in the middle. The kids also got a bowl of fresh fruit that looked great. But there was a lot of melon and that overpowered the flavors of the other fruit. This was also a fairly expensive meal. For 2 adults and 2 kids (with only one milk), the meal was almost $60 with tip. That is way too much to pay for a bland meal. read more

I've eaten here with friends a few times now. It's a little expensive for the quality of the food you get. I do enjoy their fancy coffee/tea drinks - I try a new one every time I'm in there. I haven't had a bad fancy drink yet. As for the food, it's been hit or miss. I do not like their biscuits and gravy - I really dislike their gravy's flavoring. They're known for their Eggs Benedict menu. I don't like Eggs Benedict, so that isn't a ringing endorsement for me. I am a pretty big fan of their BLT sandwich though, as their bacon is just the right thickness and greasiness. Their fries are okay.
