Went for a check up and to get a document filled out so I could get my license. I ended up having to go back the same day cause the dmv was being the dmv and the doctor was so helpful and really saved me by doing a new paper and making sure the dmv would know I am completely okay to have a license. Although the office was an hour and a half away from me, I would definitely make the trip out here again if I ever had to.

When they…read morecalled me to ask about my insurance the person I spoke to was rude and said I wasn't in my husbands policy. I called my husband after I assured her I was. He verified and I was on there . I called her back and she was like yeah well maybe he just added you. I was really annoyed when she said it because I'm sure she just wasn't doing something right. So I just let it go and still went to my appointment. When I got there everyone was nice and I went right in. When I left I asked for the pd and the lady seemed annoyed because of course they want you to buy glasses there. When she wrote the pd down she wrote it extremely small and the 6 looked like a 1. Once I get home I start to shop around for my glasses when I notice there was no number for my left eye cyl and I knew something was wrong because that's my bad eye. I call them and question them about it and they contacted the doctor and sure enough they gave me the wrong prescription. They said sorry and sent me the correct one. So unacceptable. What If I hadn't checked my old prescription and noticed something was wrong and ordered a bad set of glasses. I would not recommend and will not be going back again. Nor will my kids or husband and I will tell my family as well. I should of known better few years ago they messed up my brothers glasses and put the prescription on the opposite eye. Just wanted to put this out there so everyone is aware and double checks their prescription.

I needed to reschedule my appointment so I called 1 week in advance. The staff acted like they had no idea how to do this. They explained that the doctor is not seeing patients after a certain date so I asked if the dr was leaving the practice. If that was the case then I needed to schedule with another doctor there. They kept transferring me back and forth between offices and put me on hold for a total of 35 minutes between transfers. The staff needs to be trained not only on procedures but on telephone etiquette and customer service. Update: found another doctor with a different practice, staff appears to be well educated on customer service. I called back to Houston Eye Associates and on hold for 5 minutes just to request my medical records be transferred to other dr, and to no surprise they did not know the procedure. Fast-forward to today, I have been going to Dr. Nguyen for the past 3-4 years! He is super friendly, authentic, and easy to talk to. I feel comfortable discussing my vision and any concerns with him. Dr. Nguyen and his staff are super efficient. During my last visit, I was in and out within 30 minutes for my full annual eye exam. They run all of the proper tests and check my vision thoroughly to look for any changes from previous years.
