Found this place on our first trip back to DCL in a few decades - went looking for a good cup of coffee and wound up going back every morning! The coffee and specialty drinks here are excellent - I'd go back just for the coffee - but the breakfast sandwiches and pastries were an added bonus. Great little shop - we'll be back on our next visit! read more

Donuts made to order topped how you like them: What's not to like? And they come out still hot and steamy. Grab a fork and eat them on the deck out back overlooking Deep Creek Lake. read more

While staying in the area I read good reviews on this location. I was the only one in there at first until more people starting to come in. A couple of girls working in here, very friendly and quick at their job. The make the doughnuts fresh and add the toppings on them as ordered. Which is great because they're warm and don't get stale. One dozen doughnuts are $17.99 which is reasonable for the freshness. You get a check list and pick how many and which doughnuts you would like. And even if you want different you can request. Mix and match flavors however you'd like. I'm sure during the busy season they get swamped. Also being attached to the kettle corn store. You can't go wrong with fresh doughnuts. read more

I saw this place on TikTok and we drove an extra 45 mins out of the way to stop there. The first thing you notice is "hot donuts" sign in window, on building, on menu board and so on. You can smell the hot oil. When you order, you can't see the machine or the topping bar. What we saw first, at 11:45am on a Thursday was the female owner and her two daughters, we presume, because they were calling her mother and talking about the schedule. We were not greeted. We ordered 2 donuts, paid $5.xx and then the girl walked away. They didn't advise where to pickup or if she'd be back or what. So we walked around the wall and saw it was a glass wall, and you can see the machine. We thought the dough would be dropped fresh, and we would watch production. No, she grabbed what happen to be 2 donuts sitting in the hopper. I was thinking, aren't they supposed to be hot? I said maybe they are.. let's wait and see. So they iced them and topped them, put into a single box and handed us them at the end. We walked out on the balcony, opened the box and they were not hot. They were not "HOT" as advertised. I understand if I'm getting a dozen and I'm obviously taking them somewhere, but when two people walk in and order just two, is it safe to assume they are going to eat them now? If we ordered 3 would they have only made 1 more? Or all 3? I don't understand. We took a few bites and realized they aren't special, they weren't hot and the works and/or owners do not care. Period. There is no second chance and I will make sure to tell everyone about it. 1 bad experience will snowball and that's not what you want. But when your staple product revolves around hot donuts, you serve hot donuts. I won't be back and if anyone asks, I'll tell. Other than that it's not worth bringing up. read more

Drive over an hour out of my to try these hot donuts. Very disappointed donuts were cold not hot made to order. Would not recommend to anyone got better donuts from a gas station. read more

It was okay. The donuts were kind of stale and "sandy" meaning they had a sand and dry consistency. They also hired a person so my order was messed up quite badly. Not to worry though I'm happy I did not get the right amount of food so that I didn't feel as bad throwing out the rest of the food. read more

We're in deep creek with our friends and saw Deep Creek Donuts near where we were renting our boat, so we checked it out this morning and omg it was amazing. We didn't realize it until we ordered, but every donut is made fresh right in front of you. They have the conveyer belt and fryer where you can watch the donuts get fried and flipped, and then they individually frost and top each donuts. So many good combinations, our favorites were the maple bacon, the twisted toffee, and the Eminem, but you can always choose your own toppings! Truly the best donuts we've ever had, 15/10 reccomend read more

10 out of 10 if I could rate it that high on here. We were in Deep Creek for a friend's camping trip and in the cabin we had a little binder of places to go and things that we could do. As soon as I saw there was a small donut shop I knew that I wanted to go. I love me a donut and I love to try new things while on vacation so why not. Now the first time we went/ got the donuts was because one of our friends went because my kids were acting up and I needed to take care of them. So he went. As soon as he came back with that smile upon his face I knew we were going to go again. He sat down the donut box and said I have some of my own that I'm going to put in my own cabin. He got himself his own mini box of donuts for himself! So you knew that they were good. I like that they make them right in front of you so they're totally fresh. The donuts do not sit out at all. You can do make your own or you can pick from the list that they have. I will say that that someone in our party did have a nut allergy and this is not a nut allergy friendly place. There could be cross contamination and when I ask them about that they totally were up front and warned me. I appreciate it. I would say go here everyday that you can. I know we did. And the salted caramel one is the best. read more

Friday is buy one get one! Woot woot! The young lady behind the counter was sweet and helpful ans happy to answer any questions we had. My family had some of everything it seemed like and true to form the s'more doughnut was the standout kid! I am a doughnut gal at heart I do love the special ones! Like this place has. Great service my family and I were traveling and we do not eat in our vehicle and we are staying late if we could inside. She said no however she was happy to open up the back door and we eat on the back porch and it was super pretty I definitely cannot wait to visit this place during the summer. read more

So many choices and amazing flavors. We bought a 1/2 dozen to take on a boat ride but wish we had gotten more!

Went here to grab donuts before heading out on the water. Love the concept of a create your own donut and the topping and glaze selections were quite impressive! Out issue was just that the donuts themselves tasted pretty greasy and overly sweet. Some people may like this, but its just not our favorite style of donut. We're much more soft and fluffy donut people. I will say the speed of the staff and making the donuts was quite impressive though and they were super friendly, so nothing against them! read more

Really loved the place. We got two donuts for less than $2 because it was a Friday special. The donuts were hot, fresh, delicious, and slightly bigger than the ones at Glazed & Confused. Friendly and fast service. Highly recommended! read more

Let's start with the cons: 1) They are NOT open everyday as their hours say on here, Google, and their website say -- only open Friday to Sunday from 7AM-2PM. 2) Out of the two visits, they were out of some ingredients both times (like maple, peanut butter, and bacon), but it doesn't matter what you put on these donuts. They're incredible, as I will elaborate on. So, I was in town with some friends staying at a cabin, and I happened to stumble upon there a donut spot!! If you know me, you know I love my donuts. And when I went on the place's website, it reminded me so much of a place I've missed for years -- Fractured Prune, a highly customizable donut spot I remember clearly from college and briefly from Crofton after I graduated. My friends and I planned to go there Tuesday morning before work, just to realize they were closed! They were supposed to be open, but since they weren't, we said we would come back Friday. Fast forwarding, I went and I was the only customer in there. And, just like Fractured Prune, I had a slip that I could fill out with provided pens (separated in sanitized and used per COVID policies :-)!). So, I made my picks, and took many Boomerangs of the donut-making process. The staff must've thought I was insane LOL. While waiting, I noticed a big patio on the back that faced the lake. I wish that I could've hung out a while! My dozen donuts contained quite the variety, including 'Ice Cream Sundae' (vanilla glaze, sprinkles), 'Flintstone' (vanilla glaze, fruity pebbles), s'mores, banana chocolate chip, and more! I waited until I got back to the cabin to take a bite. The base donut is.... INCREDIBLE. They were nice and moist, and the fresh sweet ingredients that you can add just made it so much better. I made sure to pick up another three donuts on my way home, just to try some flavors I missed the last round. It's too bad that this place isn't closer to home. Three hours for donuts is a tad bit greedy, wouldn't you say? :-) read more

Our family gets donuts from here every year and it's always a big hit. This was the first time I've actually gone inside and I was not disappointed. The prices were very reasonable - only $1.79 each or $14.99 for a dozen. We were able to watch the donuts being made on the conveyer belt and watch the employee specially make each of ours. My favorite is the fruity pebbles donut, but they have a lot of great options! read more

Ordered donuts here on a Sunday morning. Very busy and it took quite awhile to get our half dozen. Workers are methodical, and accurate, but it was just slow. Donuts were tasty, not greasy, but were a little small in size and too flakey that they fall apart easily. Great to sit on their deck enjoying the donuts with a lake view. read more

Donuts were fresh made with creative topping combos however donuts needed to cool before toppings were added as they melted and ran off the donuts . Taste was overall great. Coffee was excellent , but when hubby asked for cream for his coffee he was directed to use a communal bottle of milk in the cooler next to the cash register. also their order process was for customers to fill out an order form using a cup of communal pens . The common milk and pens were not the most sanitary way of doing business . read more

When we walked up to the counter we discovered that Deep Creek Donuts owned the disappointing little food truck down the street called Glazed & Confuzed. Because it was going to be the same awful coffee and tiny cake donuts as the food truck; we turned around, walked out the door and went down the street to Traders coffee house and got two good cups of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. In defense of Deep Creek Donuts, they get 3 stars instead of 2 because my spouse said the two tiny cake donuts that he had at the food truck were good. It's the same business. So they get the same review. read more

On the last morning of our trip we dropped by for some hot donuts. The location was supposed to be open starting at 7 a.m. daily. Which, for the average human consumer means that donuts will be available for purchase at the opening time, or 7:00. However, all three of the teenage/young adult employees rolled in around quarter to 8:00, and donuts are made to order. Since the employees were so late, and donuts are fried, the oil took about 25 minutes after the fact to heat up. So, the time from ordering 18 donuts and paying over $22, to actually receiving two sticky, topping-coated boxes was about 45 minutes. The wait would have been completely acceptable for warm, fresh donuts customers expect, if not for the size of the donuts, receiving someone else's order first, coming home to find we were missing one donut from the order, and getting coated in the grime from the outside of the box. If I owned this business, I would have a supervisor managing employees, make sure they were showing up before the opening time instead of almost an hour after, and probably consider adjusting to more reasonable cost of donuts. read more

The donuts are made fresh upon order. Picked up a few and they were delicious! Quick, too.

The sign said hot donuts but they were not even warm and didn't taste fresh. Huge disappointment. I asked the girl why the donuts are cold. She said they are fresh but cooled off. Doesn't even make sense to advertise hot donuts and cook them hours ahead of time. Honestly, I've had better donuts at Dunkin Donuts. read more

Recommendation: Go for maple bacon or salted caramel. Made fresh to order. Stopped in on Sunday shortly after 7AM to get donuts for the family. They're made fresh to order. That means you're not looking at a ton of trays with donuts that may have been sitting out there for who knows how long. The menu has a list of flavors, if you will, that identifies the kind of glaze you want, and a list of toppings. You can get 1 donut, 1/2 dozen, or a dozen. After you order, you get to wait while they fix'em up. I think they have a little porch out back if you want to eat in. Highly recommend if you like a traditional donut! read more
