This is a must stop while in DCL! It's small inside but behind the building is the most beautiful view of the lake with seating! I really enjoyed the peanut butter Oreo ice cream. I'm pretty sure you can dock your boat and walk up, too! Bonus: all of their flavors are gluten free unless it's something like cookies and cream, birthday cake, etc. There is a chance of cross contamination but they are very knowledgeable about gluten allergy/Celiac read more

Great location on the lake. Extremely popular even on low occupancy weekends. Line snaked out the door! The waffle cones are the best part. The ice cream is very good, with lots of flavors to choose from. We loved all the college pennants covering the walls inside and sitting outside on the back deck over the lake to enjoy our ice cream. read more

It is some of the best ice cream I have had any where around here. The only problem is the server. She acted she wasn't happy about being there and helping customers while the boy behind her stood there licking a spoon. I had a scoop of chocolate chip and a scoop of Heath both were great. read more

YUM. This ice cream is worth the line that seems to be constantly snaked around the building when the weather is nice! My family visited after kayaking in the lake for a few hours (rented the boats from the building next door!) and the ice cream was such a treat afterwards. I tried the Peanut Butter Fudge and Butter Crunch in a waffle cone. The cones are made in house and they smell AMAZING as you stand outside and wait! I loved the flavors and texture of the ice cream, they were fantastic. I've become somewhat of an ice cream snob and I think this is some of the best I've had in recent memory. It's seemingly a staple in the Deep Creek community for a reason! Worth a visit and worth the wait!!! read more

Wow wow wow! The waffle cones are fresh. I came here 7 days straight. The waffles cones are amazing. The staff is amazing. Ice cream is phenomenal! So fricken good. The wait can be long, but I mean it's the best ice cream so you can't logically expect to not wait for it. I'd wait 5 hours for a scoop of this! MUST GO!! read more

Good ice cream and great service. Came here with a group of 13 and the staff didn't even blink. Took our orders got us our ice cream and root beer floats and what not... Prices were not terrible. People were very friendly. The line out the door and around the building is well deserved. read more

The ice cream at lakeside creamery is amazing! Super creamy and flavorful! The cost of the ice cream is based on weight. It is conveniently located to access from both boat or car. There is a dock nearby but a lot of stairs to get there. The customer service here could be better. Not friendly at all and impatient if you do not know what you want immediately. Their menu is very expansive and a lot to look over. read more

The location by the lake is great, as is parking availability. The staff was friendly and patient as we tried to decide what we wanted. They have all the basics covered. The ice cream was excellent. It wasn't anything elaborate or trendy, just two freezers of a nice variety of basic flavors. Their vanilla was rich and flavorful, for example. They also have the novelty of charging by the pound, which I thought was great from a consumer standpoint. It's hard to argue with a scale, and the price seemed fair. I'll go back next time we're in the area. read more

First time visiting Lakeside creamery and it was very delightful after a long sunny day in Deep Creek. There was a long line outside when we arrived but it went very fast and probably only had to wait 10 or so minutes. The staff was very pleasant and efficient went taking our orders. I got the chocolate peanut butter (2 scoops) and it was terrific. Good size, waffle cone was delicious. Very cute spot and will be back soon. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND Extremely overrated they label everything as real, natural and homemade and it is not at all. Do not have all the items that they promote and don't realize they don't have until after they order. don't lie about the products you have. read more

This is an old school ice cream parlor. The creamery is aptly named as the flavors are all rich with milk fat and decadent. The youngest had Chocolate butter fudge which tasted more like crazy rich chocolate milk. The oldest had orange ice cream which she loved. It I would pass on. Brutal one flavor better done in a sherbet. I had a Coke float with vanilla ice cream and it was the perfect throwback dish. We stopped here within 15 min of arriving and it was the perfect start of our vacation. read more

After a long hike, we stopped at Lakeside Creamery on our way to lunch. They have a wide selection of original and creative flavors. I decided to go with the fudge swirl and raspberry chocolate truffle. After paying, you can walk outside to a seating area with a view of deep creek lake. There's even dock behind the shop so if you are craving ice cream on the water! The one little hiccup was when trying flavors, my friend was handed a sample with a bug on the sample.... But no worries, the staff apologized, and offered to sample another flavor. Other then that we were happy with the service. read more

Obviously the best ice cream in town and possibly the east coast. Do not visit Deep Creek Lake and not stop here. You will be terribly missing out of yummy ice cream, a variety of options and excellent customer service. We visit this spot every year for more than a decade. At our last visit, Josh took the best care of our large family of 18 and made me, a 7 month pregnant lady, feel very welcomed and he didn't give me a hard time for not knowing what flavor I wanted and sampling several flavors before figuring out the perfect combination! They even have an ice cream truck at the end of Swallow Falls. A perfect reward for the kids (and the adults of course) after a good hike in the beautiful woods. read more

I'm not going to say I was not curious about this place. We drove by here Labor Day and saw an insanely long line, so we decided to pass and visit the next day when they opened because, who doesn't love ice cream and want to support a small, local business? Minus (the biggest) 1-Star (possible) for Flavor - As you can see from the menu, there's nothing crazy, just vanilla and chocolate and some more vanilla and chocolate in mixed variation. No non-dairy offerings (one of my tots has a dairy intolerance). I get that they make their own ice cream, but even the basics or subpar basic. Minus 1-Star for the Customer Service - The only young lady that looked as though she were working did not seem happy to have such a large crowd when the store opened. At one point midway ordering, my 4-year old decided to change her mind on the flavor she wanted and I asked (as nicely as I could) if we could change the flavor; the employee tore the paper she was writing on and proceeded to angrily start all over hand-writing our order. It took her longer to write our order than scoop it. *This place doesn't go by scoop, but rather charges by weight- weird because I asked for tiny scoops for my girls and it was about the same size as everyone else's. read more

Mmmm... ice cream. I think it's more difficult to make bad ice cream than to make good ice cream, but exceptionally good ice cream is an art form. Lakeside Creamery, therefore, is made up of artists who know their craft well. Their frozen offerings are amazing, and they have a wonderful variety of flavors. My only regret: no sorbets when we went. I'm a huge sorbet fan, but that's just my personal taste. We're at a CREAMERY, though, right? This is ice cream town, not sorbet-ville! So, when in Rome... Being that Fall was just about underway, I figured I'd get the most 'basic' two-scoop combo I could think of. Coffee and Pumpkin Pie. By Starbucks, if that didn't taste like a perfect pumpkin spice latté, I don't want to know what else would. Perfection in a cone! Speaking of cones, the only other complain I had was that the cone was a bit on the stale side. Still very edible and enjoyable, just not really crunchy. It didn't matter, though; it worked perfectly as a means of holding the good stuff until I could polish it off. Next time I'm up by the lake, if this joint is open, I'm stopping by again. Not only does it have some of the best ice cream around, it has a gorgeous view of the lake. I can't think of a better setting for noshing on pure goodness. read more

The lines are daunting so we waited until a weekday. Boated in, warning - they are in main channel and the traffic can beat up your boat. The ordering is alittle akward with different info at different windows. Worth the trip, really creamy ice cream with nice selection of flavors. read more

I love ice cream--almost like pizza, there is usually no bad ice cream. This ice cream did not live up to the hype. Caveat that we did go on a busy Sunday evening, but it was absolute chaos inside. When we got in line, we were right at the door so it's not like it was super long, but it took at least 30 minutes to get our order. The workers had no idea how to manage the line and right as we got up to the counter, it was like most of them disappeared and only 2 were left in the front to take and make orders. We tried a root beer float--it ended up to be mostly foam and halfway filled. Kids got sugar cones, and I got a waffle cone. The ice cream seemed pretty standard--good but not amazing. The waffle cone was the highlight. Next time we might just go and grab a pint to take back instead of wait in the endless line. They do have picnic tables out back with a beautiful view of the lake, but not worth the wait IMO! read more

On a weekend in Deep Creek, a few friends and I ventured out to experience local life. In our travels, we spotted this little gem off the road... and who can say no to ice cream? Time has passed, so I don't recall what any of us ordered specifically. Very good homemade ice cream but long wait times. Would recommend if not in a rush. Also great views of the lake behind the business.

I was in Deep Creek with 11 other girls during a bachelorette weekend, and we stopped by here on a Saturday night around 10 PM, after wrapping up a late dinner nearby and before heading out to the bar. The place was pretty busy, not surprising given it was a summer weekend and the area seemed hopping with other bachelor/bachelorette parties at the time. The line was long, but the employees were efficient at getting through it as quickly as possible. There were a lot of really delicious-looking flavors, and I went with the chocolate butter fudge on the recommendation of a friend, who was local. I got a pretty generous scoop for a flat $2 after tax (I believe they charge based on weight). The ice cream was heavenly, and so creamy that it was actually a bit hard to dig out. It looked like there was a good amount of free parking outside, but since it was so busy I was glad we were able to walk over (we were coming from the restaurant Ace's Run and it was only a short walk). The shop wasn't really clean at the time we were there (again, busy weekend), and I wouldn't say it necessarily has any atmosphere if you're having your ice cream to stay. There's a small amount of seating inside, as well as a bathroom. Really yummy ice cream; definitely stop by if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth! read more

Always enjoy a visit to Lakeside Creamery. We have not been there for probably about 5 years, but stopped in last night because it was our first ice cream shop stop during COVID. We were surprised it was fairly crowded since it's after Labor Day and a week night. They have 4 windows open, two were in use last night. Lines were maybe 6 people deep and we did wait about 15 minutes to get served, but it was a nice night so it was fine. They have little awnings up right outside each window and spray painted logos on the pavement for where to stand for social distancing. Patrons and staff were wearing masks and following social distancing from what I observed. I had a Cookie Monster sundae which is 3 scoops cookies & cream, hot fudge, Oreo cookies and whipped cream with a cherry. My husband had a waffle cone of vanilla. Their ice cream is always tasty and of course you have a nice view of the lake. Boats can dock below and people can come up from the water. They have a lot of flavors and types of sundaes and banana splits. Menu is on a digital screen on outside of the store. No one is allowed inside the store due to COVID. read more

Lakeside creamery is a decent ice-cream shop located right in deep creek along the water. They have a TON of choices to choose. I got the cake batter in a cake cone with rainbow sprinkles which is usually my go to at any ice cream shop. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. There is a place to dock if you're on a boat and want to stop for a treat. It's a long steep walk up the stairs though, so be careful. When we went, the line was really long on a Friday afternoon but it moved quickly and the staff seems to know what they are doing to move things along.
