Kurt Dowling of Deens Electronics has just successfully completed the cleaning of the print head nozzles in my Epson 520 Workforce all-in-one inkjet printer so that it again is able to print out properly. Kurt was both knowledgeable and honest --- and he did it for a reasonable price. I definitely recommend using him! Ludwig K. read more

We are a dealer in SoCal and we have few accounts of ours located in the San Francisco area. We were having nothing but problems with other companies we were using to provide service on our behalf. We were referred to Deens Electronics by one of our partnering dealers and have had no complaints since using them. Kurt is always willing to assist, and his can do approach is always welcomed. We will continue to use their services as needed. Thanks always, Lili Kotlar Advanced Office read more

I took my Epson All-In-One printer to Deen's to be repaired, because it needed a new ink pad and servicing of the nozzles. The service was excellent, the printer was ready for pickup in about one day, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Deen's Electronics. read more

This may be a little bit of an unconventional review. But I had a conversation with Kurt who is the office manager at Deen's electronics. I was inquiring to repair my broken brother's printer. And I appreciate it Kurt's candor that the printer that I have is best replaced with a new one instead of going through the motions of a repair. He explained to me the cost of labor and parts would exceed the cost of a new printer. I spoke to a couple others before calling Deens and none of them offered the transparency that Kurt did. read more

We came to Deen's based on the all the positive Yelp reviews and its true, Kurt is an honest guy. When I brought my printer to the store, he told me that my printer had a 50/50 chance. We decided to repair it. When it didn't work, he told me we shouldn't go any futher with the repairs because it wasn't worth it. He provided recommendations on reliable printers and how to maintain the printer to prolong it's life. Great customer service, he communicated frequently on the status of the repair progress - so nice to work with a person who is honest, patient, and willing to share knowledge! read more

With in the last week I had returned home from a long period away. When I attempted to print a color document on my Epson ET-16600, only black printed. Went through all of the required steps to clean the heads etc. The called epson who offered to sell me a new printer for over $1000 or buy a refurbished one same model for $650. The next logical step was to find an authorized Epson service location and luckily enough I called two but Deens was the only one that answered the phone. Told him my problem and he gave me a quote to clean, repair and get my printer back working for a flat feel which I liked very much. When I arrived at the shop Kurt came out took the printer in himself, it is sort of heavy for a senior. Kurt was very friendly, warm and said give him a few days to repair the printer. The next day he called me said printer was ready. When I arrived he had preprinted a test photo, ran the printer calibrations to assure me everything was in order. Needless to say that is my shop for printer repair. Thank you Kurt for providing great service Paisano with a smile. Ciao read more

Kurt is a nice guy. He's very patient and honest. When I brought my printer to the store, he helped me to estimate the cost which led to the conclusion that it's better to get a new one instead of fixing it. He also gave me some tips on how to maintain the machine to avoid similar issues in the future. Would recommend this store for sure. read more

We had a problem with our Epson printer and brought it to Kurt at Deens. He was very qualified and experienced in diagnosing the problem, and very professional in explaining the work required and likely schedule. The actual service was excellent: no surprise fees or delays - only very high quality work at a fair price. Thank you Kurt for a great job! read more

I wanted to get my printer repaired and I called up Deens Electronics. They weren't very responsive and just told me that they would charge me $95 for diagnostics and that could go towards the cost of the repair. They did not even let me describe the problem I had. I just wanted to know if the problem I had was repairable at all or worth fixing given that the cost of repairing could be more or less the same amount of a new printer. Anyways I still drove down there and took the printer. The refused to take a cursory glance and finally just asked for the model number and told me that the full cost would be around $285. They could've given me the same information over the phone and saved me a trip. They kept on saying they are very "professional" which they might be but they are not at all accommodating or courteous. I would never go back there and be treated like that. read more

Deens repaired our Epson printer/scanner quickly and at a great price. It was a pleasure finding someone who knows what they're doing and gives honest advice about a device and if it's worth fixing. THANKS DEENS!!!!!!! read more

I paid Deens $120 to diagnose the poor print quality of my Epson. A few days later I was told that all I need is a new print head, for $154.00. I was told my machine is a $600.00 unit, so I OK'd the repair. I tried it out and noticed the white paper background was grey. I was told "that's normal", A few days of very low use, the problems (streaking) returned. I also learned the background grey is not normal, and probably needs a new Platen Camera. When I called Deens and mentioned that I was unhappy, I was told that they would fix it at no charge to me. When I finally had a chance to return the machine, I was told that parts aren't available and they couldn't do anything for me. Huh? So, now I'm $254.00 out of pocket and have to buy a new 3 in 1 Copier. Deens offered me a used machine, as a settlement. I told them that I don't want a copier that may break again. The young man in the shop, graciously offer to refund my $120. diagnostic fee. I couldn't take his money, but did keep $20.00 for gas money, and they are 1.5 hour round trip for me. I really hate taking time from work for zero return. Deens is probably OK for general repairs, but they sure missed the mark on my Epson read more

I highly recommend Deen's Electronics! Kurt came to our office and performed a maintenance service on our old HP printer. He did this in a timely manner and was very professional. There were a few other vendors we contacted but they never called us back - but not Kurt! So thankful we found a reliable vendor! read more

I called around for my Epson photo printer earlier this week and was referred to deens. I was hesitant at first because the location appeared to not have a sign in front. These guys are great! We have a trusty Epson stylus 4900 printer that we've had for 10 years. It came up with an error code that we couldn't solve here. Took it over to Deen's, they analyzed it, replace the faulty part and as well, discovered another small part that was causing slight malfunctioning and got it working just fine. We've been in the publishing business for 50 years, so we recognize good quality service. Highly recommended! read more

Excellent, friendly, quick and professional service by Hussain, who repaired my aging Epson 3800 printer at a very reasonable price. Until I watched Hussain make a few test prints after making the repairs, I didn't realize just how much the print quality had degraded over time. It's now printing as though it was new. He also walked me through his suggested maintenance practices, and told me to call any time should I have questions or need further advice. While in his office, I heard a couple of phone conversations where he did help others with advice and recommendations. read more

We had an excellent experience with Deens recently when our Epson Eco-Tank all-in-one began losing its print quality. Syed was respectful, patient and communicative with us at all points in the process. Their flat rate diagnostic and repair model was clearly explained to us and it worked out great. He started working on our machine the same day we dropped it off. The situation called for him to directly engage with Epson for a resolution which was done in a timely fashion and was completely successful. Deens Electronics is an Epson-recommended service center where they clearly work hard to satisfy their customers. If we happen to need service again we won't hesitate to call on Deens. We highly recommend them. read more

I called Epson with a technical issue regarding my table Workforce WF 100 printer serviced. After speaking with 2 of Epson's technical support people, without addressing my issue, I was referred to Deens by Epson, with a recommendation to have my printer serviced. Well - Kurt, the onsite Sales Coordinator, was amazing. He asked for me to send him an email with photos of my printer. Once he got the photos, he walked me through on how to make the printer operate. Mind you, this was tech support all free of cost in times like now, when everyone is hurting for money. I had a good experience with Deens Electronics. I should start by saying that it was next to impossible to find anyone that could either repair or even willing to repair old printers. I guess parts are hard to come by and there is no desire for such a small profit margin. Besides, new printers are cheap, but the cost of ink is through the roof. I had an old HP all-in-one printer (at least 18 years old) and they were able to repair it for $50. They were unable to find the part, however I was able to search the internet and find the required part, so I supplied the part and they supplied the labor. Why would anyone repair an old printer? ...because it uses half the ink the new ones do and it still works great. It will also work when the color ink cartridge runs out of ink, unlike the new printers. 4-Stars because I had to supply the part. I guess they don't want to waste the time looking for the part. read more

Great guys. Cleaned my printer. When the problem appeared to resurface, very kindly and patiently walked me through to the actual problem - which turned out to be something that had nothing to do with the printer. Which would be great enough, right there - but they then fixed another problem that appeared free of charge, and showed me how to fix that and another problem entirely by myself. Totally and happily recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was in the middle of a project and suddenly the print quality on my high-end Epson printer went down to pretty much zero. I had a deadline to meet, and I was in a bit of a panic. After trying all of the maintenance and troubleshooting possibilities that I could do myself, I went looking for an authorized repair service, and I found Deens Electronics. I gave them a call, and was able to bring the printer in yesterday afternoon. This morning Hussein from Deens called to tell me it was up and running perfectly. I picked the printer up, plugged it in and completely my project on time. And the print quality? Well, it's like a new printer; colors are crisp, sharp and stunningly perfect. I'm impressed with the turnaround speed and the quality of the repair on my printer. And the price was quite reasonable. I'm very pleased with the results. read more

A couple of days ago had an "unclear-able" printhead clog in one of my Epson printers. Moved into the Fremont area only a few months ago from Southern California and didn't have a local printer repair contact. On a whim (and a little research) I called and took my printer into Deens Electronics. Hussain was able to get the printer working again and had it back to me in a couple of days, charging me only the original diagnostic fee. Those are the basics and they don't begin to cover the details of my experience with Deens. Simply: What a rare gift to discover a genuinely caring, friendly, knowledgable, highly-trained, quick, and finely-tuned shop! Hussain also spent extra time showing me some basic maintenance procedures I can do to keep another one of my other printer out of the shop. Hussain is a gem and Shawn provides the setting. I've got a monster workgroup printer at home that I bought as an employee of the manufacturer back in 2003 so it's getting a bit on in years...but still a fantastic quality printer. But, it started jamming on a regular (but intermittent) basis - frustrating. It is an off brand so not too many techs service it. Adding insult to injury, most printer places don't want to help consumers - they want business contracts to provide services for massive quantities of equipment over multi year terms... The intermittent paper jams made it basically unusable. I looked at a lot of Yelp reviews and called a few but found that they either weren't interested in a one printer problem or charged more than the printer was worth. Deens was a bit far for me (30 miles or so) but I liked their reasonable flat-fee labor approach and they seemed to be the most consumer friendly by far. I called them up and talked to Hussein. Hussein was awesome! He said that they didn't repair my brand and probably couldn't get parts for it but he offered to walk me through some things to try on the phone (seriously!). I'd been working on this dang thing for about 2 months (google searches, etc.) and I knew this printer inside and out by this time but he still came up with a few new things to try and offered up the most likely issues that he would have expected were causing the problem. I greatly appreciated his efforts to help over the phone but unfortunately none of them worked. I asked if I could bring it by even though they didn't support my brand - he said, "Sure, bring it in!" To make a long story a little bit shorter, both Hussein and Gary took a look at it while I was in there and after observing it print they identified the issue within a few minutes. No parts were even needed, it was a functional part that was sticking in the wrong position on occasion and just needed a thorough cleaning. I hadn't been able to figure out the problem because the cause of the jam was very far from where the paper was actually jamming in the printer - I was looking (and replacing parts) in the wrong end of the paper path. And, of course, I didn't have their expertise of seeing probably thousands of these things over the years. Don't hesitate to call Deens if you have a printer issue. My only regret in this whole situation is not calling them sooner. read more
