Even though so many people remember the traffic light in the middle of the street, the center now works much better than the previous status. The entire center has been fully repaved and completely renovated with parking, sidewalks, lighting, traffic lights and so much more. Lots of the storefronts currently have reconstruction and others have already been completed. A few new restaurants and stores are slated to open soon (Horse Thieves Tavern, Blue Ribbon BBQ) in the Square which is a very much needed attribute that Dedham was lacking. Currently, the only restaurants in Dedham are chain restaurants all on Providence Highway. With that said, Dedham Square is an up and coming zone, unlike Norwood Center as it comparably has declined immensely. Dedham is growing and growing and the goals and wants of residents and the way that this Square is appreciated, acknowledged and kept up shows how the residents of Dedham do in fact care about their town community, which is always something I as a nearby resident like to see. Always great seeing areas with high amounts of local businesses and restaurants. In general, the improvements to the landscape and improvements of many more tenants have both made Dedham Square a more desirable and hopeful area. I would suggest visiting to look around, you may be pleasantly surprised with the options of restaurants, retail, coffee shops, and local services you are able to find. 4 stars.

There just hasn't been a review of the Curtis Hall Community Center in quite a while, and I thought it would be helpful to update. I'm training for a triathlon and needed an affordable place to swim 1-2 times a week. I I've gone swimming here a couple of times and I'm very happy with the swimming facilities. The locker room is.. a locker room. It seems well maintained and clean, which is all I can really ask for. The showers do turn off approximately every 30 seconds or so, but it's not a huge problem. The pool is 25 yards, and there are three lanes. I've only been in the early morning, but the most people I've seen at the pool at one time is 9 (3 per lane) and that worked out just fine. The gentleman who works at the front desk in the morning is friendly, and very helpful. He allowed me to try out the pool a couple of times before joining, which was really nice. The cost to join is $30 a year and there is a $2 per use cost for the pool. However, you can buy a card that gives you 7 uses for $10 -- well worth it if you ask me. I have no problem paying to help to support a community center. I will take a look at the rest of the facility one day when I'm not in a rush to get to work.

If you are a young adult in Boston seeking Christ-centered community, this is the place to be. King's Hill is full of people truly doing life together all throughout the week. Sunday mornings are theologically deep and Gospel-focused. They are also serious about discipleship and helping their members grow in their faith, and truly seek to serve the city of Boston. King's is an amazing church to be a part of. In Boston, which can be a lonely and busy city, I found instant friends at King's and was immediately made to feel at home. When it became clear that I live too far away to become a member (tragically), King's encouraged me towards a partnering church closer to home. Their graciousness speaks volumes to the type of church they are.

Then you sit down alone in a row of empty chairs and no one sits next to you? And once the service is over you walk out wondering if anyone even noticed you were there? Well, I have. A few times. It's difficult finding a church and I've been on the hunt for one for a while. I went to King's Hill today, making this Sunday, a special one. When I got to the doors and admitted I was new, a lovely young woman said "let me walk with you!" and escorted me in. Once there, multiple people came to talk to me--and it wasn't forced, it wasn't fake. The worship music has two stunning female singers. Most importantly, the message was so good! Connected directly to the word, to us the congregation, and to our daily lives. It wasn't hard to follow, but it was full of scripture at the same time. The pastor runs an honest and passionate ship of believers. Imma get myself onboard. For logistics: service takes place on the first floor of the Hilton hotel. Parking is next door in a garage. The church will give you a ticket to validate your parking (you won't have to pay). They set out bibles for you to take home. No tea or coffee, but a whole lot of conversation.
