Delicious Brazilian food in Cape May! Who knew!?
We were in Cape May with friends who live on Cape May Point and wanted to watch the World Cup match (Brazil v. Norway) and eat Brazilian food. While Brazil lost, DeckSide Boteco won big time. It is such delicious and plentiful food and not just meat (!) Service was great, location is super cute, and they definitely need better signage since the Boteco is open at night in the same space as a pancake place in the morning.
We wanted to try a lot of things so we ordered more than we could finish (and had no idea how large and generous their portions are! We also didn't know they were cash only...ATM onsite). Also no alcohol but many delicious non-alcoholic options. Mur meal for four cost us $300 with a lot of leftovers.
- Seasonal salad - 5*/5 I'm sorry I can't remember all that went into our salad but it involved mixed lettuces, fresh peaches, strawberries, and a super yummy vinaigrette in an enormous bowl which was more than enough for four of us
- Picahna Prato = 4/5, only downgraded because I do not prefer the fattier meat involved with this cut of steak, came with farofa, chimichurri, vinaigrette, sliced bread, and yucca fries
- Feijoada - 5*5, super delicious pork & black bean stew with rice, kale, farofa & Brazilian vinaigrette. A whole meal in itself for two people or more!
- Grilled chicken skewers - 5*/5, super tender, flavorful chunks of chicken grilled to perfection.
- Grilled beef skewers - 5*/5, tender filet tips, I preferred these to the Picahna prato
- Grilled rainbow veggie skewers - 5/5, generous portions of red, yellow, green peppers, onions, mushrooms
- Housemade white sangria - 5*/5, this non-alcoholic version of white sangria was so delicious! I wish I knew how they made it as this is hands down the best non-alcoholic drink I've ever had
I highly recommend DeckSide Boteco, my mouth is watering just writing about it! read more
