Not sure why anyone comes here anymore. The location is good but ambiance, service, and food is suffering. If you're reading this and from out of town- I'd suggest just about anything else down the Ave otherwise you'll be sitting here with regret. I've been here several times throughout the years and can honestly say it's not what it used to be. My last dish was so noticeably bad that someone sitting at a table next to me leaned over and asked what happened to the dish. Truly comical as we laughed it off as he talked about the issues with his too. Bottom line is - this place isn't going anywhere because of the location and tourist population but there is a lot of great local restaurants in walking distance or even on the water that would make for a much better experience than this glorified chain restaurant. read more

Oh I have been wanting to check out this place for quite some time, especially after a Yelp Elite event at CHE across the water. The scenery on a Sunday morning is absolutely gorgeous. Getting a table outside on the deck and watching the boats and yachts pass by and/or dock is definitely entertaining and gives you that good vibe of living where most people vacation. The service was really good from start to finish however when looking at the menu the air was let out of the balloon. A huge gasp. Most of the items on the menu was the typical breakfast / sandwich / platter and nothing really struck us like "oh we need to try that". We took so long to decide what we wanted and not because of the great things that were on the menu but scratched out heads so much we could not find anything enticing. We were a party of eight so logistically it too late to go somewhere else. So, the salmon-shrimp burger was the top choice as the only creative option but again, this was a burger. Served with your choice of fries. When a fried chicken sandwich is the second best thing on the menu you know you're in trouble. Beer options were dismal, so I opted for a Floridian while my wife opted to order a bloody mary from the "do it yourself" bar. Given her experience it was nothing special. Nothing creative to add to your own bloody mary, nothing impressive enough to take a selfie with. The typical olives and hot spices. Just flat. There's also no bottomless option either. What's brunch without bottomless? So you can tell the direction of the review. The view is what makes this place pop and keeps the clientele. Sadly, there's nothing on the menu that makes it special, drink or food. A place like this needs inspiration and creativity. Just wasn't impressed, sorry. read more

Keeping in mind we came during brunch time on Sunday. The food was great with no complaints there! I deducted 2 stars because although the outdoor seating and breeze is beautiful it is ruined by how loud the music is. The live music is so loud you can't talk with your guests. You can barely hear yourself think. We were willing to pay for the music to be lowered. Sadly we will likely not be coming back for this reason. I think if the volume of the speakers was lowered and the music was more background music the atmosphere would be more enjoyable. read more

I'll have to temper tonight's review by stating that I was there 2 nights ago and had very good service and a great meal. The 2 ladies who were working the bar and serving food were amazing. Tonight I walked in and sat a stool at the not busy at all bar. One bartender walked past twice and then returned to talking to his fellow employees as the other sat at the register texting in his phone. No acknowledgment at all so I left after 10 minutes. No management was in evidence and if this is what they consider acceptable practices, I'm surprised that they are so successful. Nice place on the water. Kids menu came with three crayons wrapped up inside. Ordered the pasta with butter and thy didn't have spaghetti as an option for noodles. They offer the curly type of noodles (forgot their name). I really prefer spaghetti noodles though. They were able to give me fettuccini noodles, and that's a close second to spaghetti so I was happy with that. read more

Was recently in Delray for the weekend and someone recommended this place. I will pass on the recommendation because it was a great spot! On the water so nice calm views. We went for happy hour, drinks were very reasonable priced and we tried the truffle fries and chicken fajita tacos. For discounted priced food, the portions were huge! Was enough to fill us up. While visiting my boyfriend (a week ago) we wanted to do a date night where we could enjoy an outside setting with good food. This place was wonderful from the moment we walked in the hosts were very friendly and for a late Thursday night dinner they got us seated very quickly. Our waiter was so friendly and she was very helpful with the menu and suggesting all the right things. I had been craving fish tacos and i told her surprise me with her favorite ones (brave of me to trust someone else) but she did not disappoint! They were amazing! Both my boyfriend and i got them, and we loved it! We also had these shrimps for starters with this sweet chili sauce and oh my was it delicious. Recently visited for brunch during a long weekend stay in Delray. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip, and definitely my favorite meal of the trip. We had a 5 person, round table with amazing views of the water. The ambiance was perfect. Our server, Selena, was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable about the whole menu, but never hesitated to double check with Chef. She went over and beyond on everything. My friends and I will talk about Selena for years to come! Recently visited here on a girls trip. The waterviews and food was great, but really it was the staff that made this experience for us. Our server Selena was AMAZING! We had several food allergies in the group and she took the time to ask the chef about accommodating these and it really put everyones mind at ease. Every request or thing we asked of her she went above and beyond. The oddest request we had for Selena was where the bathroom wallpaper came from (They are remodeling and the wallpaper is gorgeous!), and she actually put me in touch with the GM Lauren who is going to sell us some! Lauren was also amazing to chat with and went above and beyond. Selena and Lauren completely made our Delray experience and we will be talking about them for years to come!!! What an amazing gem in downtown Delray right in the intercostal. The complimentary valet alone made it worth it. We were there for lunch and ended up staying until 5. The owner or manager greeted us and was very funny. We were there originally for another restaurant but wanted to check them out and ended up staying. Parking- complimentary valet Atmosphere- Laid back with an outdoor deck good for large or small parties. There is an outdoor bar also. The high tops have happy hour all day. The inside also tons of seating - lots of booths Service- Staff was very attentive and all the waitresses check on each others tables. They even had bowls for the fur babies. Even thought we were there for over 5 hours we never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Food- Amazing!!! Menu was typical items with the chefs own flair. Larger portions then I expected but every bite was delicious. Drinks- delicious!! We sat at the high tops for happy hour and there was no skimping on the alcohol. Dessert- Keylime pie was homemade and delicious! I can't wait to comeback!! read more

I have eaten here twice and both occassions were wildly different experiences....First time didnt wait long was getting late so I think we got the last table (was inside however it was facing a pole and on the side street with lots of traffic and noise from the air conditioning unit. BUT....We were seated right away, & would cope with this but ambiance was a def thumbs down. THEN, the food arrived and I had some sort of gourmet burger that had some slaw and other accompaniments and EVERYTHING went beautifully together. my friend was also pleased with his meal that night. FOOD WAS GREAT !!! 2nd visit, waited with a GF for 15 minutes (nbd) at lunchtime. Unfortunately, this time , the STRONG SMELL OF CINNAMON they had going in the entry was OVERPOWERING (and we both like that smell but TOO MUCH!!!) In fact, the smell infused into our clothing and we REAKED of it FOR HOURS AFTERWARD. So BIG THUMBS DOWN THERE . Then, we sat outside. Was a touch windy but we were cool with that however, this time the food took forever to arrive and was um...disgusting, i had a chicken dish and my friend had a salad with shrimp and none of it was good. Utterly embarrassing and quite disappointed.... I have heard of Deck 84 many times but in hindsight it was normally friends (mostly girls) going there as a stop among other places for drinks... yes, they ate some of the time but it was always the drinks that they bragged about. But knowing the great location (Atlantic Avenue directly on the Intracoastal Waterway) we decided to meet some friends the other day for lunch. The inside is nice but a bit stuffy and has way too many busy bees (employees) running back and forth. One things for certain, they are never short-staffed. We waited for an outside table... definitely more my scene; laid back, great landscaping separating the restaurant decks and the docks, over looking passing boats and jet-skiers, live music (played at the right volume), plenty of fans for warm days, plenty of shade... a very keys feel without going to the keys. We got our table and great view from every seat; couldn't be happier. Our waiter promptly took our first round order and shortly returned with our drinks and an order of guacamole and chips. The girls had mimosas (at a surprisingly 8 bucks per flute, too high) and the guys stuck with soda.... soda is easy... I get it the drink, I finish the drink, waiter "SHOULD" refill the drink but if he waits forever the ice melts and it looks like I have a new drink but it's water. I did ask for a refill but he forgot. Not the end of the world and I shouldn't be drinking soda anyway. The girls decided to share a caesar salad and a "pear and brie" flatbread pizza. Caesar salad was pretty good and the flatbread was interesting enough that both girls wanted to take an attempt at making it at home (simple and tastes good). Now us guys weren't as pleased as the girls... We both ordered burgers.... they claim 10 ounce but I swear they are bigger but WHO CARES.... they were TERRIBLE. THE BURGER HAS TWO PROBLEMS: 1. Bland, Bland, Bland I don't think they mixed any seasoning or additives to the meat before making patties and most likely never sprinkled any seasoning onto the patty before or during cooking. Granted their deck sauce offers some bold flavor but I like a good tasting burger that doesn't sauce... otherwise I'd order a deck sauce on white bread sandwich. 2. CHEAP MEAT Burgers are not supposed to "POUR" grease, juice, moisture or anything out of them when you pick them up; dare take a bite and see more liquid pour out. The bread became mush after a couple bites. That's a clear sign of "CHEAP" meat... at least mix that fatty meat with some lean sirloin to off-set the flavor and prevent some of that flood. In all honestly, I held my burger over an extra plate (as not to avoid a puddle when I put my burger back on my entree plate)... I wish I took a photo of that plate. I may have given a 3 star rating but in my heart I wanted to drop down with a 2 star rating, but truth be known the ambiance and other food overshadow the WORST BURGER IN DELRAY read more

Went during happy hour - never offered to sit in "happy hour seats" - when we asked if we could partake in the happy hour drink specials we were told no. Great food and drinks enjoyed waterside. Waitstaff was amazing. Drinks never went below half full, every detail of the order was correct. Seating outside here is great. Tables are spaced nicely apart and it's a good way to enjoy everything. There isn't a bad seat in the house either though. Watching boats go by is a pleasant way to pass an afternoon with the ahi tuna poke bowl. Smoked fish dip is a must if you're looking for a strong start with the appetizers. I've seen plenty of friend's check-in and a lot of food and drink pictures; all the drinks and food look so good that it's been making me want to try this place out for lunch for awhile. One of the things that attracted me was the outside patio. The atmosphere on the patio seemed to be relaxed and laid back. I finally came here with some friends for Dark And Stormy drinks and dinner (but more for the Dark and Stormy's). I have a hard time finding drinks I like and luckily Greshka P turned me onto the Dark and Stormy but once I find a drink I like I am very picky on how good a place can make them. I can say that Deck 84 made it perfect, not too strong and tasted great. It was raining the night we came so we decided to stay inside even though the outside deck is covered we just wanted to stay away from the rain. The inside is also laid back and casual. I ordered the blackened fish tacos. You can also get them grilled or crispy but so glad I chose blackened. They were tasty and the portion was plenty. Loved that they use fresh cabbage and the spicy kicky from the jalapeños was a plus. I would definitely recommend them. I can't wait to return for more Dark and Stormy's and enjoy some brunch on the outside deck next time. read more

Granted it's been a while since I've been there, with all the other places I can go in Delray. The one thing Deck 84 has is a tremendous view of the Intercoastal, which is great. The service was solid every time I've gone. The food is OK. I usually went for brunches, and definitely dug their Bloody Mary bar - that was cool. I can't believe I had not written a review for Deck yet... I come here with friends for drinks. Their outside seating is perfect for this... Laid back, casual, right by the water, full bar, friendly bartenders and staff, happy hour specials, TVs, plus they make the best "Dark & Stormy" (I've tested) in Atlantic Avenue. Just with this I think I should have persuaded you to try Deck, but, if you need more, I will continue. I usually have the already mentioned "Dark & Stormy", they make it perfectly. You can see the division between the Ginger Beer and the Dark Rum on a cool tall glass, with a lime on the side and straw just waiting for you to drink it (I want one right now). I have also tried their Mango Habanero Frozen Tequila. I'm not a fan of frozen drinks but this one has a kick to it, making it worth having it. They also have inside seating, with another full bar. Regardless of where you sit service has always been good, I've had a great time, and, (the few times I've eaten there) they have good food. Their salads are big, I had the Chopped Salad and was fresh and filling. I've also had the beef sliders. Can't really say much about them, I mean it's the basic sliders with the usual condiments but good flavor and not dry, which is important. Now, recently I had their shrimp tacos and this has been my favorite dish so far. It's 3 soft tacos, with your choice of either crispy, blackened, or grilled shrimp. I went with grilled. All 3 tacos were generously filled with shrimp, shaved cabbage, jalapeños, and cream. On the side they have a lime vinaigrette and house made salsa, and guacamole to add to your tacos. These tacos were delicious, I did not have to add any of the sides to them, the jalapeños can get a little too hot at some bites but it goes so well with the dish, it's worth leaving them in. I love avocados, so I had the guacamole with the tortilla bowl it came in and it was perfect. So why not 5 stars, the only reason it's that it can get a little pricey with some of the food but, other than that, this place is a favorite of ours. read more

Ok wow. We had higher expectations from this restaurant after having seen this place packed outside on the other Saturday afternoon. We decided to try this out for dinner on a Friday night around 9:30pm. The place was almost dead. We were seated indoors for that reason. Decided to go with the special of the Friday Fish Fry with a glass of Sam Adams and a grilled chicken sandwich. Our server was nice and prompt. The food was brought out after maybe 15 minutes. My chicken sandwich was on a very hot plate which was strange because my fries were in a tin container AND my pickle was on the hot plate.... I hate warm pickles. The chicken sandwich was good, but a bit too bland. My husband was let down with his fish fry special which consisted of weird tasting fish that I swear must have been prepared with baking soda. We did not eat the fish after that. The hush puppies were mediocre and the coleslaw was also warm. But the breaded shrimp was the best part of our meals that night. We really thought with their semi pricy prices and the intracoastal location that Deck 84 would be better than this lukewarm experience. We likely will not return, but maybe for beers instead. By the way, if you're looking for fish and chips.... Go to Blue Anchor a couple doors down- they know what they're doing! read more

Whenever I come to florida we usually to go to deck 84 for lunch. Located near the Delray beach. Thwy have a deck 84 loyalty club, make sure you join! They only have valet service during week it's free but during the weekend it's $4. It's worth it. We like to sit outside the deck, which overlooks the water, very pretty and watch the boats pass by. They have a great menu, from chicken, burgers, fish etc. I like the grilled chicken sandwich. If you come over r the weekend they have a bloody Mary bar! Great experience. read more
