    Hyderabadi Dum biryani

The ambiance was classy and dimly lit with a lounge feel. The service was efficient and attentive in clearing plates and serving water. The hot and sour soup was tasty and spicy. The chicken lollipops were tasty as well. The mocktail mojito was refreshing. The Angaarey paneer was presented with a fire show but the taste was not memorable. The main course items including the Amritsari chicken tikka and the Hyderabadi Dum goat biryani seemed to be lacking some spice and flavor as well. Very pricey and automatic gratuity included but luckily for me it was a business dinner.

Great food and even better service! The interior decor is lovely and very clean. Huge shoutout to Hemal for the top-tier service; he even served the food onto our plates. The Goat Biryani was perfectly tender and the garlic naan was fresh and fluffy. The mango lassis were a bit of a miss (too thick/bland), but the main courses and the Tikka Masala were excellent. We'll be back!

I was visiting from San Diego and had heard that New Jersey offers some of the best Indian food in the country. Naturally, I was excited to try it out. We ordered the Chicken Lollipop, Lucknowi Chicken Seekh Kebab, and Vijayawada Chicken Biryani. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty terrible. The Chicken Lollipop was raw on the inside the first time. We flagged it to the server, who was courteous and replaced it promptly. However, even the second serving felt underdone and off in texture. Next came the Lucknowi Chicken Seekh Kebab, and this was hands down the highlight of the meal. Perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with amazing flavors - it was absolutely delicious. Finally, we tried the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, which was a big letdown. It was missing the distinct flavor you'd expect from a good biryani. The chicken was chewy and tasted more like leftovers mixed with rice than a freshly prepared dish. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but for the prices they're charging, the overall quality needs serious improvement. The Seekh Kebab was excellent, but everything else fell short of expectations.

Girls' night out just got better! We had so much fun at @DeccanSpice for our girlfriends' dinner date--great vibes, amazing food, and unforgettable moments! We kicked things off with a welcome drink and some fancy cocktails from their full bar. Plus, a robot served us our food, adding a fun twist to the night! Every dish we tried was a hit, and these are highly recommended: * Angaarey Paneer (fiery and full of flavor!) * Chandni Chowk Paneer Tikka * Schezwan Lotus Root * Lucknowi Chicken Seekh Kabab * Kerala Crab Cakes * Salmon Tawa * Paneer Khurchan (creamy and absolutely delicious!) * Jackfruit Biryani (full of flavors and one of the best biryanis I've had in NJ!) To top it all off, the Double Ka Meetha Flambée was a dessert to remember! Don't forget to try their weekend-exclusive Maharaja Thali--it's a royal feast! @toast_to_taste rating of DeccanSpice: Cuisine - Indian (Fine Dining) Food & Drinks - 4.5/5 Ambience - 4.5/5 Service - 4.5/5 Price - $$ Overall Rating - 1/2 Perfect for a girls' dinner date or any special occasion! So this place was recommended to me by a friend we got the - Garlic naan, Malai kofta, Paneer makhani and Rice. Food was great, servings were great and overall vibe was good the only thing I can say was the service was a little on the slower side but nothing crazy. Once you sit down they give you napkins to wipe your hands with as well as a shots worth of a juice. It tasted sorta like fruit juice, I believe it was almost a mouth cleanser. The waiter was nice and if I'm in the area again I will come back!

Food was 5/5 but the service here was questionable. They were quite excessive with checking in with our table and kept trying to take our plates away when we were clearly still eating. It wasn't even that busy so idk why we were so rushed. In terms of the food and drinks, everything was delicious. First started off with some drinks and all of us were super impressed. I absolutely loved my lychee mocktail - it was soooo tasty with a very strong lychee flavor that tasted like the actual fruit and not some artificial syrup. Got the angaarey paneer and chicken lollipops as our appetizer and they were both amazing. Loved the live fire that came with the paneer. For our meal, we ordered the daal makhani, Bombay fish masala and railway curry with some rice, garlic naan, fried papad and raita. Family styled everything among 4 people and it was the perfect amount of food. Every single dish was incredibly rich and flavorful. We also got the double ka meetha flambee and some sort of ice cream for dessert. They were good but very overpriced for the quality and portion imo.

We went to this restaurant recently and had an interesting experience. The drinks were very expensive (about $18 per drink even for mocktails), and the food itself was decent, but it was more so the service that I'm knocking down a star. There was a table of (maybe, not sure) influencers next to us, and the manager kept going over there to talk to them and hang out with them, giving them top notch service. They were ordering the big showcase items and definitely were loud and making lots of content. No hate there, but not another table received even a speck of attention from the management/staff. The manager I don't think came over once to us or any other table, would just look at our plates and move to the table next to us. Our food also took some time coming out, and we had not ordered many dishes. Overall, I was more so disappointed in the service rather than the food. I've heard a lot of great things about the restaurant so I think we just came on an off night (because of the table next to us), which is extremely disappointing, but I wouldn't mind coming back and modifying my review if the next experience is better. I think for the price of the food, management really needs to focus more on their service. Not just the content creators matter- any paying guest should be treated equally. Pros: lotus Manchurian is delicious, mocktails tasty, the little robot server is cool Con's: staff does not pay attention as most work is relying upon the robot, pretty expensive for certain items

Stumbled upon this fine dining establishment in Edison with the family. The host that greeted at the door was not friendly at all. The ambiance is beautiful, dim lighting with simple but elegant logo art and bar. The lychee cosmo was exceptional, the food was highly overpriced, typical tasty indian food. Nothing over special. The live fire prawns was an experience but nothing over the top. The staff kept bombarding about removing glasses, they all kept asking the same questions and rushing you through. The robot delivery device was cute.

Not a good experience... We were in the area for some gold shopping and decided to try this. Entered, the receptionist attended to us and directed us to the Lounge area while the table was getting ready. It took a few minutes, but we got the table in under 10 minutes. Not sure, but all the tables were not occupied, and still somehow restaurant looks like it crowded. Ok, I might sound cheap, but the first thing I noticed is it's overpricing items on the menu: considering the locality, I am eating, it's too much. For a beer, they were charging $9-13/bottle. We ordered (below) and waited around close to 40 minutes. *** Amritsari Chicken tikka: it was cooked in tandoor but why it was chewy? Except for the presentation, nothing was good here. *** Old Delhi Butter chicken: the only item which I found good. 4/5. But no Delhi taste, please! *** Rogan Josh: not sure why the restaurant named it Rogan josh. You are nowhere near to Rogan josh (name ità " Rogan Josh but not Kashmiri Rogan josh"). Pieces are supposed to be soft (not very soft), and pieces should be leaving their bones, but your pieces are hard to bite. Don't use the same pieces in all the mutton/goat dishes. I would not have written in detail about the dish, but you are upscaled dine-in, so you need to know what you are serving. In fact, learn from Brar videos. He recently posted a video about it. *** Garlic Naan: it was basically a Maida roti in tandoor. Did not feel like I was eating naan. -$8/naan. *** Beers. Spent over 45 on 3 beers. Too expensive. And what about the water? Been to like 100s of INDIAN restaurants in the North Jersey area and never I paid for the water (it's not NYC upscaled restaurants, mind it) The only options for water you can get- Still, sparkling, and none. We paid $9 per bottle. Yeah yeah - Robot brings your food, very fancy. Pls take care of the service, reduce the waiting time to bring the food to the table, and improve the quality of dishes - I don't fancy robot waiters. Coming to gratuity: I did not find it written on Menu that gratuity is included in the final check. Not cool. And we were a party of 4 only, I thought if it was more than 4, then the gratuity gets added to the bill. we paid $200+ for 4 people. Food- 2.5/5 Service- 2/5 Price- 1.5/5 Ambiance- 4/5 Overall- 2.5/5 Except for the ambiance -I did not find anything else appealing and though I hearty support Indian restaurants (my 70% reviews belong to restaurants and half of them are Indian). I am not seeing myself coming here.

I really enjoyed the food at Deccan Spice and the ambiance was very cool. All the flavors were just right and so tasty. To top it all off, the food comes to your table on a robot - how cool is that?! I've never seen anything like it. Even the Paneer Khurchan being lit on fire was cool to watch. The servers serve the food directly to your plate, which is so nice. Everything we ordered: Paneer Khurchan, Hara Bhara Kabab, Cauliflower 65, Punjabi Chole, Kaju Curry, Aloo Kohlapuri were delicious!

Reviews for this place comes with few caveats. Vegeterian dishes seemed to be better when compared to Non-Vegeterian, especially red meat. It might feel overpriced but they are trying to emulate upscale Restaurants/ Lounges, so it's to be expected. Good choice if you are looking for somewhat elevated but still within acceptable price range options for Indian Cuisine. Service was a little bit slow, but the Staff made up for that with their attitude. Most of the items we ordered tasted really good but not a big fan of their Biryani. Lamb Chops flavor was fine but meat was bit chewy. They have some interesting Menu options (Food & Drinks), and the presentation looked fun. Would definitely recommend but skip it if you don't care much about ambiance, and would rather have good food at a fair price.

From what I've heard, it usually gets packed during peak sports seasons--but we happened to hit a lull (post-football, pre-baseball, and no major games on), so we basically had the place to ourselves. That actually worked in our favor--the quieter atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy conversation without the usual sports bar chaos. Drinks were a highlight. I went with the sangria, which was refreshing and well-balanced. Instead of ordering full entrees, we decided to share a bunch of appetizers. Everything that came out looked great, and everyone in the group seemed really happy with the flavors. As someone with a gluten allergy, though, I was pretty limited in what I could order. The ribs ended up being one of my only real options--but thankfully, they were tender, flavorful, and definitely the standout for me. Still, I do wish there were more gluten-free choices, especially since we were there to celebrate and share food. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was that we felt a bit rushed toward the end of the meal. We didn't even get the chance to order a birthday dessert, which was disappointing given the occasion, but seeing since it was only our group there I'm sure they were ready to close and go home. Service overall was attentive and friendly while we were dining, so no complaints there otherwise. It was winter when we visited, but I can see this being a great spot in warmer months--the outdoor seating looks like it would really add to the experience. Parking was easy on a Sunday night, and they do have a lot, but make sure to read the signs carefully since some spots are reserved for the theater next door. Overall it has a great vibe, solid drinks, and food that people clearly enjoy--I just wish there were more gluten-free options so I didn't leave still a little hungry.

I didnt like the truffle mac but the brussel sprouts were delicious!! We were def full but our wonder waitress insisted on a celebratory ice cream with a sparkling candle. It was very nice! Before we left the owner came up to ask how everything was. He was a cool guy and told us a bit about the restaurant and his future expansion happening! I love that he said he use to come to the bank with his parents as a kid and now he owns a restaurant in the space....full circle moment. We truly enjoyed our time here! Thank u for making our Anniversary dinner so special. We will for sure be returning. I have to try the snapper next time!!!

So we came with low expectations, but left with a satisfied experience. I love thin crust pizza, and Angelina's nailed it with their dough making. All the bread was delicious. The gelatos were so fresh and creamy. What gives them a 5 star for us: all the drinks were excellent (love their Negronis) and the dishes were well seasoned. It was a crowded night but we got a table with no reservations after a 10 min wait on a Saturday night. High ceilings and open layout, the place felt spacious and outdoorsy.

Initially, wood fired pizza was my draw here and the server mentioned that 12" sizes are available despite not listed on the menu. Thankfully, another server saw me waiting and waiting to place my order. Only 2 servers and the place was surprisingly busy so service was lacking in addition to the disappointing execution of my meal. I played it safe, I thought, and ordered the mixed veggie salad with salmon. The salad was a pathetic array of about 6 Boston lettuce leaves and then an inordinate amount of sloppily sliced red onions, way too many capers, and drowned in a tasteless vinegarette all served on a huge platter. Maybe a nice place to grab a happy hour drink ...but too much competition for food in the area to dine here.
