My wife and I were lamenting the other day about how there was no authentic pie shop in/or near Escondido. We started to recount some of the kind of pies we used to enjoy. Then out of the blue, we were watching a show and a coconut cream pie was on the screen glistening and winking at us to bolster our appetite for some delicious slice of decadence. Well, as my mouth was salivating from that encounter, I set my sights on finding a coconut cream pie for us to enjoy. And lo and behold, what do I see as I was driving home from Palomar Hospital? Debbie's Restaurant & Pie Shoppe!!! So, I immediately made a quick turn into the parking lot with my sights on seeing a coconut cream pie in person. Alas, the parking lot was nearly empty (it was about 2:55 pm) and the restaurant was looking empty. By the way, great decorations on the outside and inside the restaurant are colorful and inviting! Well, restaurant was empty. But, not the refrigerator!!! There so many different kind of pies. Wow! I asked a very nice lady if there were any coconut cream pies available. She looked in the refrigerator and there was one coconut cream pie left. This brought a big smile to my face!!! Yes!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Brought the special treasure home and was so excited to try a slice. The crust was buttery and the coconut cream filling was perfectly sweet with the coconut bits and the whipped cream with toasted coconut bits on top was amazing!!! Definitely going back to try the restaurant regular meals, with room for a slice of pie of course!!!

Stopped in for a quick Saturday lunch with a girlfriend. Nice little menu of breakfast and lunch diner staples. We both got the 1/2 sandwich and a slice of pie special. I got the egg salad which was a little light on egg, but tasty, plus the corn chowder. Service was prompt and polite but not intrusive. Very cute little hole in the wall with many pie options. I'll try the strawberry rhubarb next time!

We've visited Debbie's Restaurant & Pie Shoppe for breakfast on multiple locations, and it's always wonderful! This time, I mixed it up and ordered lunch. Their bleu cheese dressing is TO DIEEEE FOR! Every item I've tried has been delicious. Always looking forward to trying something new. :) Service is excellent, with that classic home style breakfast spot vibe.

It looks fantastic whole, but I saved a slice

I ordered a banana cream pie for Thanksgiving and man was it fantastic We ate almost all of it already, and this pie is to die for with real whipped cream, lots of fresh bananas, intense flavor with thinly sliced almonds on top ~heavenly It's a very busy local shop with fantastic coffee and breakfast items on the other side, yet my service was quick and quite pleasant upon pick-up. We have a new pie shop

We went on a sunday morning around 9am and it wasnt packed at all. However as the morning continued, it did get more busy. Our food was delicious and the service was pretty quick. I orderd abc omelette with hash browns and chose cinnamon roll as my toast. My mom ordered from the senior breakfast and a hot chocolate. I cant rememeber our other meal but it was great to end it with an Apple Crunch pie with ice cream. I would come back and Im excited to try all the pies.

Went here to find a new pie place and omg these are freaking incredible!! Very hole in the wall place, feels like being at grandma's home! Very sweet servers. Can't wait to come back and try more off the menu! Happy to have found our new holiday pie place! They're all delicious but that dutch apple is AMAZING!!

Everything was delicious. We had a combo of breakfast & lunch for a family of 6. We had the spinach omelet, Reuben, hash eggs Benedict, French toast combo.

Hometown restaurant with an inviting vibe. No frills or crazy lines. No need for red bottom shoes and expensive handbags. Bring your appetite and get the kids dressed for breakfast! Just come in and get ready to eat some delicious food. A slice of pie will run you $7. Tier display case has several pies to purchase as well. I tried the egg salad sandwich and it was good. Waitresses were assisting each other which is always refreshing and makes the mission easier. Restaurant was clean and place was packed. It's quaint and has ample parking. In the strip mall so no stairs or elevators to catch. Support local and give it a try.

I'm in Escondido occasionally from L.A. for business. (the business of tournament Disc Golf) Creature of habit that I am, I stay at the same trusted AirBnb and often eat at my favorite restaurants - but I was looking for a new breakfast joint. Debbie's Pie Shoppe popped up on a search and, when I saw that they were a full-fledged bakery - in business for 27 years! - I knew what I had to do... bring this home for wifey: THE PECAN CHOCOLATE CHIP PIE What?! I had no idea this was a thing! This concoction of toasted pecans, luscious chocolate, that pecan, slightly mapley, rich and creamy-goo that happens when things are properly caramelized and lovingly prepared...holy cow, it was so outrageously good, it was in fact beyond description. You've GOT to try this. Bring one home to Ye Olde Home now. Thanketh Me Later. P.S. - Thank you to the bright-eyed, smiling and lovely woman that was working attentively at 0700 that Sunday morning...you're the best!

Such a cute local spot. Very home environment. It was a little hot inside but they have some ceiling fans. I got a hot coffee & it was average but good. The blueberry muffin was really dry that's why they give butter on the side. I really enjoyed my breakfast burrito. It was super super hot!! But that's a good thing bc u can tell they made it fresh. I was able to get a side of salsa with it. The cherry pie is super tart & coconut pie was okay. Our server was really nice & surprisingly the food came out super fast right after we ordered. I really want to try the Dutch apple pie or pumpkin pie next time I come back!

There is also an outdoor area and oh my! It was like a botanical garden here and they also have a fountain where they have fish swimming in it. A worker here was about to feed the fish when we showed up and asked some kids dining outside with their parents if they wanted to help feed the fish. How awesome! We were a party of 10 and got sat at an outside table. It was just a lovely afternoon to experience this venue. I ordered a habanero margarita and asked that the tequila be substituted with mezcal and that was doable. This drink was OK and next time, I might just get a beer. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering a salad. I got the Greek Tavern Salad, which doesn't come with meat, so you have to pay extra to add chicken. The chicken was very dry and flavorless and in a big chunk on top of the salad. The tomatoes and green peppers were also in really big pieces, so I really wish I'd been given a better knife to cut everything up. I also wish the salad had a better Mediterranean-style dressing and more feta. I ended up leaving most of it behind. The other thing that really bothered me was that they started deep cleaning the restaurant around 9pm, even though they're open until 10pm. They were fully mopping and stacking chairs around us, which made us feel like we were being rushed out. I actually asked when they closed, and they said 10pm--it was barely 9pm at that point! Who wants to smell cleaning chemicals and have furniture being stacked around them while they're still eating? The decor is cute and the restaurant has a lot of character, but unfortunately the food and the way the evening ended probably means I won't be back.

This was my first and last visit to this location…read more We came for trivia night and were shocked by how rude and hostile the female bartender was. I initially brushed it off as a fluke, but as the night went on it was clear it wasn't just me. Multiple people in our group and others experienced the same behavior throughout the night when ordering food and beer despite being polite and friendly to her. The final straw was when our friend was walking to his car with his 2 kids and she goes out of her way to yell, "Bye, princess!" At this point enough is enough and we asked to speak to the manager. As we are explaining to him the crazy aggressive interactions we had she began yelling at us from behind the bar and even raised her hands as if she wanted to fight. Now things are getting heated and we asked for our bill before it escalates any further. The manager passively apologized for her and comped one of our tabs but didn't leave us confident anything would actually change. I thanked him for his gesture but explained it's not about the money, it's the crazy treatment to customers just trying to enjoy their night. After reading other yelp reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated issue. It's unfortunate because we love Pizza Port, but we won't be back to this location. The food was decent and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, but one employee completely ruined the experience.

My friends and I have been making the rounds to different Sunset Trivia locations throughout North…read moreCounty, and this week we decided to give Pizza Port San Marcos a try. If you're coming for Thursday night trivia, I'd definitely recommend arriving before 5:00 p.m. We got there just after 5 for the 6:00 trivia start and were lucky to snag one of the last larger tables. Also, if you're planning to eat, order early, the food truck gets backed up on busy trivia nights. It took about an hour for my pizza to come out. Unfortunately, the biggest downside of the evening was the service from one bartender (receipt said Leah). Multiple members of our group had interactions that felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. One friend asked which beer was the fruitiest, and instead of answering or saying she'd be right back, the bartender responded, "I'm helping others right now," and walked away. Our trivia team ended up winning the free pitcher midway through the night, but since only two of the five of us were drinking beer, we politely asked if there was another option or if we could save it for a future visit. Initially we were told our name would be written down for next time. Later, when another friend asked about it, he was met with the comment, "Maybe your team doesn't need a pitcher." My friend spoke to another employee about that interaction who apologized for the experience, and generously offered us a six-pack instead, which was appreciated. The interaction unfortunately escalated after that, with the bartender following my friend outside yelling an inappropriate comment to my friend as he was walking his young children to the car. When members of our group tried to calmly explain the situation to a manager, the bartender became visibly confrontational, making motions as if she was going to approach the group angrily, and repeatedly threatened to call the police. All of that was inappropriate and overall confusing. It was an uncomfortable ending to what should have been a fun trivia night. The venue itself is decently sized for events but does run pretty warm and humid, with limited airflow. It's disappointing because the pizza was good, trivia was fun, and the rest of the staff we interacted with were pleasant. However, one employee's attitude overshadowed the entire experience. Based on this visit, we'll be sticking with the other trivia locations we regularly enjoy.
