Complimentary muffins with a side of homemade whipped butter
Katrina J.

The Café is located inside Valley View Casino to the right of their popular Valley View Buffet. It is open 7 days a week but only from 7:30am-2:00pm. My boyfriend and I have eatin breakfast here in the past, but we rarely visit the casino before 2pm. Yesterday (Friday), I decided to take my mom on a little drive and thought "why not brunch at the casino!?". We arrived at 10:15am, and there were many parking spots available in their parking structure - from the second floor on up. We walked through the casino all the way to the back right (near the hotel), and there was a party of two already checking in at the host station. Check-in was a fast process, they asked for my name and if I was staying at the property. We were ushered into the restaurant and told to wait to the side for a hostess to seat us. I saw it was busy, but not completely full. They still had quite a few open tables available, and we were seated quickly after about 5min. of waiting. The lady who had seated us was wonderful, and very nice. She took our drink order (2 coffees) and brought over 2 cups as well as a saucer full of hazelnut creamer packs. Our waitress visited our table shortly after introducing herself. Her name was Celine, and she was a ray of light! Very sweet and attentive. She quickly poured our coffee and brought 2 muffins to the table. These are complimentary muffins, and let me tell you... they are DELICIOUS. They have a walk up bakery right next to the café, and every single thing i've purchased from them has been top notch. The muffins also come with homemade whipped butter which compliment the flavors perfectly. Celine gave us a few minutes to look at the menu and came back to take our orders. My mom and I both ordered the triple decker turkey club sandwich. One with parmesan fries and the other with fried onion petals. Now, after this, my mom had an OOPSIE and spilled her water cup all over the table. Of course she was embarrassed and panic just engulfed us...Without asking, a worker by the name of Javier appeared at our side to help. Of course it was embarrassing...but he was so kind about it and made my mom feel better. He got more napkins and then held out his serving tray telling us to just push the ice onto that and he will take care of it. He literally stepped into action...where I feel others would just walked by at other places until you ask or make eye contact with panic. Javier, thank you so much, you are a sweetheart and theyre lucky to have you. After that whole excitement, our food quickly came out. It looked delicious...and I have had onion rings but never fried onion petals! I LOVED THESE!! They are so much better than traditional onion rings. The turkey club was loved by both of us, and the parmesan fries were great. Celine checked in on us regularly and refilled our coffees along with that. It definitely was a great brunch that we had, and we were lucky to have had the service from Celine and Javier on our visit. I will DEFINITELY be back! and recommend you take a nice drive one day to try it out.

They close at 2pm so don't delay. There will be a line/wait on busy days but they either give you a buzzer or take your phone number to text when your table is ready. Giving you time to feed the one armed bandits before you feed yourself. Good variety of entrées, we like some of their Asian offerings. Desserts are good too as they are connected with the bakery. Definitely worth a try. Enjoy!

I love this place for brunch. I ordered the steak and eggs with hashbrowns and a side of white rice. Our waiter Tyler was really nice and kind and always checked on us to see if we needed anything additional. Cant wait to come back here again.

Prime Rib

Craved for the best bread you can't find anywhere and drove all the way here. This time we had the clam chowder. So creamy and you can taste the clam's freshness. The chicken Caesar salad was perfect. Best of all, is the prime rib. Perfectly cooked to my liking. The meat is fresh, tender and moist. Over all, The Cafe is your casual fine dining. High quality food and service from the entire staff. I've been here several times and I always forget to take pictures. Every time food is served to our table, can't wait but start devouring. Long drive and it's all worth it.

Appreciation -"recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something". In this case, commendable old fashion values of "Quality & Service" Harder and harder to find these days. It's all the VV restaurants. & hotel ( Heaven's terrific at the front desk) in Valley View both food & service! We generally like to stay at Valley View Hotel because of just that "Quality & tip top service" What we take for granted is the wonderful breakfast that comes with your stay. Today, we didn't stay but love "The Cafe" for their unbelievable menu, I had Steak & eggs for breakfast but it comes with choices, I love their fruit, whoever picks their fruit it's absolutely delicious!! and like I said quality & tip top service even when it's so crowded or they're short handed, you can see that every team member is working hard. We've stayed at a Marriott where you pay for a simple room and comes with what they call breakfast, think on that for a moment , then appreciate the wonderful food and people creating such a warm environment and to top it off, absolutely wonderful food! From the moment you step foot in the cafe, Diana , Mariko Cordell Tyler Marty and so many more are like a well organized team, kudos to all of them ! Take a look at the extensive menu and enjoy

Steak sandwich

My husband and I ate here while we were staying at Harrah's. It's hard to get me away from Earl's, but I was in the mood for a change. I got the steak sandwich, which was good - very rich and somewhat greasy, but flavor was awesome! It also came with Parmesan tots, which were perfectly crunchy. My husband got the pot roast, which was super hearty. Staff was super friendly and they have a robot server to help bring out the food. Their menu has a ton of options if you're looking for anything from burgers to chicken tenders to pasta, and they're open late, so it's perfect for any craving you may have!

Chicken Caesar salad

We had Sunday lunch here and it was such a treat. Service was great and the food fresh and tasty as well as generous portions. I had the chicken Caesar salad and hubby had the kung pao shrimp. The complementary bread basket and whipped butter were also great. We had a nice view of the mountains from our table. We give this restaurant an overall five star rating and will definitely be back.

Avocado Toast
Laurie D.

I've eaten at the Café at Harrah's Southern California countless times, but this is my first review. A girlfriend and I spent the night at the hotel and decided to have breakfast at the Café. We both ordered the Avocado Toast. It was an everything bagel topped with whipped cream cheese, sliced avocado, baby heirloom tomatoes and drizzled with balsamic glaze. It was served with two poached eggs, four sausages (several choices), and a cup of fruit. The Avocado Toast was absolutely delicious! The portion size was large. We could've easily shared one breakfast. The only issue was that the service was horrible! I asked for a coffee refill and waited a long time. The server barely checked on us, and I had to ask the lady cleaning tables to ask our server for the check and takeout containers. I definitely would've given more stars had the service been decent.

Complimentary muffin

I've had breakfast here with my family several times before; usually the morning after spending the night at the hotel. I heard the cafe recently reopened after remodeling, but it looked the same to me. If you're lucky to be seated near the windows, you'll be treated to the views of the Palomar mountains. Came here yesterday with my mom. We stood in line for about 20 minutes before finally getting to the host stand, was informed it would be about a 30 minute wait for black card holders & would receive a text when the table was ready. Got a text about 10 minutes later, and we were seated a few minutes after checking back in. My mom and I both opted for the steak & eggs breakfast, which came with choice of bread and either tater tots o'Brien or hash browns. The steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered, tender and seasoned well. Our server was quick and efficient, and kept my coffee warm & topped off.

Food is decent specially the breakfast recommended the service is good the only problem stay away from this server her name is jasmine she has her preference customers if she don't like you she won't even ask you if you need anything or if you ok ambience is good family welcoming

Wonton Soup
Dee Dee T.

I came for breakfast but ended up ordering lunch. I ordered the Chicken Piccata. This is the best Chicken Piccata I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly tender and the sauce was creamy with the perfect amount of wine and butter. This dish came with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and white carrots. It came with choice of soup or salad. The Wonton Soup was adequate. I think I will try the Chicken Tortilla soup next time. The entire dish was very pleasing. The portion was enough for me to take half of it home for lunch. The service is friendly and accomodating. The dinning room has beautiful views of the near by mountains.

Prime rib hash.. not bad with egg whites but heavy
Ramil M.

Decent place since my wife is Diamond. Service was good and ambience was fair. For my choice, tried the hash since Prime Rib roast was taken off the menu, prices got a bit higher but just as long as you swipe for your comps. It was heavy, prime rib was kind of tough but still okay to try out.

Not going to lie, I almost didn't make a reservation because I have beef with ownership (lol!) but…read moreI could not pass up the opportunity to try a steakhouse run by a Filipina executive chef. And I'm glad I didn't. The food and cocktail program here are excellent and I'd come back over and over if I lived anywhere within 2 hours of this place. Walking in, the anime theme hits but doesn't hit too hard. There's also a kind of art deco, romantic theme happening at the same time. The woman's bathroom is sleek, dark and romantic but my husband said the men's was anime themed. Interesting dichotomy happening here. Service is incredible. The host was super welcoming and made us feel really comfortable. The server assistant came over immediately with water. Our server was so hospitable and answered all of our questions, even the silly ones. We felt so welcome and cared for by everyone. The server assistants bringing the food explained the dishes in detail and asked if we needed anything before departing our table. The manager touched our table twice, a really nice touch. And the food? Get out of here. I wanted to try the whole menu but unfortunately cannot fit that much food into me and there were only two of us. I have to shout out to the beef belly and the kare kare. Just so freaking excellent. I mean every thing was, but those two dishes... *chef's kiss* The rice creme brulee was also fire and I appreciate our server for making sure we tried it. The cocktail program here is stellar as well. I loved every drink and even the one I thought was going to be too sweet (Midnight in Manila) was perfectly balanced and just the right amount. Absolutely amazing experience, deserving of stars and I could not recommend it more.

We were a bit nervous signing up for Asian street food for bougie prices, but were pleasantly surprised! I think as a millennial that grew up on authentic Asian food, it's always hard to eat "modern" Asian food because historically that meant it had been americanized. Chef Tara Monsod does a great job putting her own signature on so many different classics from Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and more. I was thoroughly impressed by the sea bass cha ca. This is such a homey dish for me growing up and doing it with sea bass was perfect as I always thought the original catfish was too dry. The tumeric flavors were all there. It felt really familiar and yet new at the same time. We also had the Australian NY strip, which was cooked to perfection, sliced for sharing. All the dishes are family style. The human lamb chops were just the right amount of spice and flavor. I also indulged in the melon milk tea, which was in the sweet side but definitely could taste the melon! Our hostess was very helpful, friendly and the pace of dinner was perfect. The restaurant itself has impressive high ceilings, backlit art on the walls, and smart decor. It's definitely a beautiful space. Overall a great experience and delicious dinner. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite things about this place is how easy it is. You order on the kiosk, grab a seat, and your food usually comes out within like 10-15 minutes. The inside has a lot of seating and even games like Jenga which makes it feel like a fun spot to hang out for lunch. I didn't interact much with service since I used the kiosk, but the worker upfront was really friendly and even brought my takeout to my table. This time I tried the Dynamite Crawfish Bowl and the Dynamite Fries. The bowl comes with crawfish, rice, dynamite sauce, eel sauce, seaweed, sesame seeds, and pickled radish on top. The fries normally come with sweet potato fries but I swapped mine for regular fries because I just wasn't feeling sweet potato that day. The fries were honestly kind of underwhelming. It was basically fries with dynamite sauce and only a few pieces of garlic confit, which was the part I was most excited for. They weren't bad, just really underwhelming. I honestly think the sweet potato fries probably would've worked better with the flavors. The crawfish bowl though was really good. The crawfish had this slight smoky flavor to it like it was lightly torched and they give you a lot in each bite. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly and the pickled radish on top helped cut through all the richness from the sauces. Everything worked really well together flavor wise. My only complaint is that halfway through the bowl the flavors started blending together a little too much and it gets boring, but overall it was still super satisfying and filling. Definitely still one of my favorite quick lunch spots in Carmel Mountain and somewhere I'd bring friends because the menu has so many good options. Their dessert menu also sounds insane so I already know I'll be back.

As noted by its name, this place served a fusion of Chinese and Korean cuisines. Their Encinitas location took over what used to be a roadside diner along N Coast Hwy 101. The seating capacity was less than 40 people which included a few high-top counter spots. At my last visit, I came for a late dinner before their closing time. A large menu was posted on the wall behind the service counter that listed about two dozen food offerings. The items seemed to be comfort food like pot stickers, spring rolls, fried rice, and chicken wings but flavored with unique combinations of seasonings and spices. I started my meal with the Marinated Beef Tri-Tip Skewers which came as a set of three and a Chinese mustard for dipping. The meat was very tender and well-seasoned. I also ordered the Cumin Lamb Stir Fry which the cashier said was medium spicy. After tasting a couple of bites of the noodles from the serving bowl, I agreed that the heat level was moderate, even for my palate. I thought the portion size should have been more for the price. That was my main criticism for both items, otherwise the food was solid for an Asian fusion eatery.

Wow! I really loved my food here!…read more I had just come across the street from the candle making place & needed to kill some time, but this was a wonderful surprise! I ordered the fallen monk (pulled pork) stone pot & made sure to make it spicy. I opted for noodles in mine & my bf got the beef over rice. We both added eggs. We tried each others & loved them both quite a lot. We ordered Oolong hot tea with honey & it was such a beautiful pairing for the food. Their tea + honey were both a nicer flavor than usual. Our waitress was pretty cool. She had a chill, sweet vibe about her & really helped us make great decisions. We got seated at dinner time on a Saturday, but somehow managed to beat the "rush." I then always order the monk bowl with ribeye. The blend of crispy rice on the bottom of the pot, mixed with vegetables, the protein of choice and the egg on top creates a masterpiece. Add the two sauces that come to the table and it's a dream come true. The hubby added chicken this time but said he much prefers the steak, salmon, or shrimp.
