I proudly entered the establiment with my newly acquired buckskin leather piece. I wanted her to…read morecut it for me as I didn't have proper scissors . Witch asked if I was native and why I couldn't cut it myself. I guess she thought I was an Indian and could chew it myself.she said it was too difficult and would charge me $50. I grabbed my piece and left the store never to return.

Being the daughter of a tailor, it has been hard to find a GOOD tailor in this city, let alone one…read morethat has good customer service (that will "re-do" a piece that was not done to the expectation of the customer). I am happy happy to say that after, 10 years, I have finally found one that is VERY good and for what I have needed to have done (I lost a significant amount of weight that necessitated that I take a lot of clothes that would cost SO MUCH more if I replaced them) a good value as well. I went in the first time with two skirts to be taken in to "make sure" it would be the best place for me. This is something I have done with other places I have gone--take in ONE thing for an "easy" alteration to make sure between the quality of the alteration and the customer service as a whole. Compared to other places I have gone to, I feel that this spot is good for both. As well, they are very up front and honest as to how much an alteration will cost in light of the work that it will entail. In fact, you can ask them point blank "is it worth the money for what it costs to alter it"? They will tell you how much it would cost and then leave it up to you. In my case, I have a reasonable amount of work clothes, "going out clothes" that if I tried to "re buy them I couldn't afford them now, if at all find them anymore since some of them were purchased in the US and some are also designer. For example, I currently have 5 pairs of slacks that have to be taken in and in so doing, the inseam has to be also taken in and then lengthened. Some of the pants are lined some are not. The cost is going to be a bit over $200.00 . However, if I do the math on the pants separately, to re buy them, I am looking at roughly around $600.00 worth of slacks. I realize that such a consideration isn't for everyone. However, if you are looking for a good tailor who will listen to what you say and will allow you to ask questions, the tailor at Parklane Tailors is the gentleman for you to help you with your alterations :-) Another caveat, like most tailors, he only takes cash and Interac....so that is the other thing to know. My only regret is that he is at WEM so when I go, it is a "destination point".....however, like all tailors, his spot is in one of the "quieter" wings (across from the Dollarama the wing that has the side entrance to GalaxyLand--these are my landmarks to make sure I remember :-) where he is).
