They charged me $50 + and the tailor did not take any measurements for altering the one pair of jeans, he pulled them back from the waist. They didn't fit me at all. I was very satisfied with the service and always said I wanted my pants to be touching the floor without shoes on....every time! I don't know her name but i went in enough that she recognized me. I had taken in a pair of black linen pants and went through the whole scenario of trying them on, have them touch the floor without shoes and then I just picked them up a few days later. I didn't try them on right away because I've never had a problem. I took them with me on a trip a couple of weeks later. When I put them on, they were a solid inch and a half too short. I can't wear them. I took them back in to see if maybe she could let the hem down but it didn't look like enough fabric was left. She said 3/4 of an inch was all she could do But I would have to pay, Again!! I got pressed about having a receipt. I had taken another pair of pants with me that day that needed to be hemmed. I thought maybe she would even offer to do those for free for compensation, but the only solution was for me to pay for her to fix what she did wrong in the first place. Needless to say, I didn't leave my other pair of pants and found a new Tailor.

I don't know what some of these peoples problems are with this place (other than veiled racism) but…read moretaking a wedding dress in to be fitted 7 months out is idiotic, regardless of how secure you are in your sizing. Anyway, I've never had a problem here whatsoever. They aren't all warm and fuzzy, but I'm paying for competence, not smiles, and competent they assuredly are. They got out decade old blood stains out of a ball hockey jersey and have an average turnaround of 2-3 days, even during the holidays and wedding season. I can't recommend them enough. When we move, we will most certainly still be taking our clothes in here for dry cleaning and alterations.

I brought them my strapless wedding dress to hem, add a bustle and sleeves. They blamed me…read morerepeatedly for wanting sleeves and came up with the ugliest design for these t-shirt sleeves for a wedding dress. The bustle looked really odd and ugly. I finally paid and took it to Mariellen of Alstair's design in St. Albert. Mariellen was very helpful and able to make the bustle look beautiful and put on new sleeves. she was stunned that I paid for the work that was done. Capital Tailors did what was asked. Their shop was 27 degrees and I was dripping sweat in the dress. At points I just wanted to cry. They also had one visit where they told me not to gain any more weight. It was a very difficult experience because I didn't even want to put on my dress anymore. it was very well priced for a poor job.

I have been a loyal customer since 2008. For men's clothes Allan was very knowledgeable,…read moreprofessional, and honest about the work to be done and one's choices. Prices were reasonable and craftsmanship and service was great. They have made a new business arrangement and have "sold" I think to new owners but Allan and Judy look like they still work in the back. Anyway about a week ago, my wife called on the date she was told her items would be ready (no rush at all she gave 3 weeks as she was travelling anyway) They confirmed that she should come in to pick up. When she arrived, no work had been done and they asked her to come back later. I went in myself today. They were measuring things unevenly and told them tricks to do it right (that Allan taught me). When I asked if they would guarantee the date THEY gave me, they agreed that it would be done despite the issue with my wife's order. Just as I was about leave the parking lot they came running to my out to my car saying they were unsure if they could meet their own timeliness. They returned my clothes and recommended I go elsewhere. Which I did. Over 15 yrs and they are willing to lose a loyal customer. Sad to see an excellent locally owned business that has lost talent and customer service.
