I purchased my wedding gown off the rack from Bridal Debut in Jan 2023, and I was initially in complete awe of it. I loved my dress and I was aware that it would require alterations to make the perfect fit. I trusted Bridal Debut to handle this aspect of my wedding preparations so here are the problems I've encountered. 1 Unwelcoming seamstress- The experience with the seamstress left much to be desired. she appeared cold, off-putting and completely unenthusiastic about altering my dress. Her attitude did not contribute to a positive experience. 2.) Inadequate alterations- Despite the significant cost of 650 for the alterations the results were far from satisfactory. Dress did not sit properly, the straps hung off my shoulders, and the fabric was super tight on one side that it was scratching my inner armpit causing red irritation. And my breast pads were above where my breasts should be. 3.) Lack of accountability- When I reached out to Bridal Debut to express my concerns once bringing my dress home and to finally show my mother and sister in law, I was met with a lack of understanding and accountability for the issues that had arisen. the owner, Heather, seemed unhelpful and unwilling to address the problems.It unfourtante when business prioritize profits over the meaningful experiences of their customers, especially when it is such a important moment for any Bride. The essence of a bridal boutique lies not only in the products and service it provides but it also in the experience it offers bride to be's. 4.) Additional Costs- It is super disheartening to hear that in order to fix the dress, I would be required to incur further expenses! After having already paid a SUBSTANTIAL amount for alterations and dress, being asked to pay more for proper fit is unacceptable. It's unfortunate when business prioritize profits over the meaningful experiences of their customers, especially when it is such an important moment for any Bride. I'm now faced with and incredibility distressing situation just 2 weeks before my wedding. To be informed that I must pay more money to rectify the mistakes made by Bridal Debut, when I already entrusted the boutique with 2,000.00 is both financially and emotionally distressing. my mothers efforts to find a more afforadable solution( like a refund) were met with a resounding " No" So this situation has now forced me into purchasing another wedding gown from another boutique, incurring additional expenses of 1400.00 The financial burden and emotional toll has taken are immeasurable. So thank you Bridal Debut, I don't want an apology at this point. I want my money.

I had purchased both dresses online and she was able to alter them both beautifully to fit me perfectly. Svitlana is excellent at what she does and she is very willing to give her honest opinion in a calm and respectful manner. She made me feel very much at ease. I would highly recommend her for any dress alterations but what she specializes in is custom wedding/grad gowns. Looking around her shop I was astonished at the beautiful dresses she has made and designed from scratch. She really is great at what she does!

About a decade ago, I came to this business (different location before) upon a friend's recommendation for wedding gown alterations...since the first in-mall tailor I went to was inexperienced & had attempted to hem my gown anyway, doing a poor job & costing me $150, recommending that I go elsewhere to tailor the bustier on it. Let me tell you, at the first appointment, the seamstress at this business immediately knew what was done wrong, and where the work on the dress should've been done to hem properly judging by the weight of the fabric & the intricate beading design. She also knew how to salvage the gown & adjust it accordingly, I trusted her enough to also alter another evening gown I had planned to wear on my wedding. Amazingly her work was so precise, that I only required that appointment & the subsequent fitting for the gowns to look exactly as desired and fitting like it was made for you. Fast forward till today & service is still the same, but now with a larger dressing space & seating room... they'll soon be moving to the west end soon! Price depends on the amount of work needed, but for what you end up with, it's worth it...so save or budget for it! I always recommend brides who ask me where to get their alterations to go to Debbie's & all have been pleased with the end results. They don't even need to advertise; their work speaks volumes & so do the referrals from their happy customers.

They only take appointments but it's very easy to book one. I managed to get my alterations done in plenty of time by the wedding with no rush, and it only took two appointments. The first appointment was for trying on the dress and getting the initial measurements for the alterations, the second appointment was for trying on the dress after the alterations and seeing if everything was good. Sometimes they will book a third appointment if further alterations need to be done. Looking back, it may not have hurt for me to book the third appointment, as the bust was a little off during my wedding day, but no big deal. Overall the alterations turned out well, my dress was handled professionally and the ladies there make you feel like a princess. In terms of costs, I think it's relatively comparable to similar places. In the end it cost me just over $400 for hem alterations (shortening the train), bust alterations and shortening the straps. The cost will depend on how much work you need done on your dress. I think my alterations were about average, not a lot but could have been less. They also have a great selection of bridal accessories incl. jewelry, hairpieces, veils, etc. Thank you, Debbie's!

This was really special for me because my mom and sisters ended up picking the dress I chose. Our appointment started exactly on time, and my consultant was patient and friendly, and let me try on a ton of dresses. They even squeezed us in for a follow-up appointment a couple of days later so I could re-try some and that's when I made my decision. I loved having our own private dressing room with a couch, and also having the showroom all to ourselves... that may have been good luck, or they may time their appointments so that only one appointment is browsing at a time... regardless, I appreciated this. The only reason I am not giving Novelle 5 stars is because of how the belt on my dress arrived from the designer. The beads were sewn on very poorly, some were falling off, some were crooked, one was chipped, and it looked extremely cheap and messy compared to the beautiful display dress I had tried on. This is something I feel like they should have noticed when it arrived and they checked it over. They did pay for it to be fixed, however, what I didn't like was how the consultant handled it. She tried to downplay it and convince me that the beading looked wrong because the belt wasn't tacked to the dress properly, and I had to push for her to admit that it was the actual beading of the belt that was done poorly and needed to be fixed. Considering what I paid for my dress, it should have shown up looking perfect, and it caused quite a bit of stress, as I live in another city and the tailor had to rush to fix the belt in time. Overall though, a minor hiccup in the entire process, and I would recommend Novelle to anyone looking for a wedding dress and great service and selection.

Judy tells you the cost of each repair up front, which I appreciate...it sucks being surprised when picking up your clothes, and it costs more than you originally expected. I usually give her one week to complete my "order", and the quality and price are worth the wait. I also appreciate the convenience of private parking near 99 street, behind the house. And it's only blocks away from Wild Earth Cafe, Culina and Route 99. My favourite tailor on the city.

I finally paid and took it to Mariellen of Alstair's design in St. Albert. Mariellen was very helpful and able to make the bustle look beautiful and put on new sleeves. she was stunned that I paid for the work that was done. Capital Tailors did what was asked. Their shop was 27 degrees and I was dripping sweat in the dress. At points I just wanted to cry. They also had one visit where they told me not to gain any more weight. It was a very difficult experience because I didn't even want to put on my dress anymore. it was very well priced for a poor job.

We took a chance on Sara's and I'm so glad we did. It was the second store we went to. We walked in on May 19th, with Grad coming up on June 7th. The saleslady acknowledged that it was a tight timeline, but wasn't worried. She explained the layout of the store and let us look around for a few minutes. She was incredibly helpful with pulling dresses and getting them done up. We found THE dress quite easily. It was only the second or third one that was tried on, but there was no interest in anything else after that. They had the correct size/colour combo in their warehouse and said it would be in in a week. So, back we went on May 24th to try on the dress again. The seamstress was standing by to make note of what we wanted done, and made a few suggestions. I was worried but she assured me that the dress would be ready by June 5th and it would be perfect. She was right. It was absolutely stunning. It fit perfect and the alterations were amazing. The dress was $525 and the alterations were $189, but hey... you only graduate once! I would definitely recommend this store to others. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Side note... on one of our visits to the store, there was a lady there trying on dresses for her wedding. She was probably in her 40s or 50s and mentioned that this was her 3rd wedding. The staff gushed over her like they would any young bride and helped her find the dress of her dreams. It was so heartwarming to watch.

I am truly pleased that it ought to arrive in plenty of time for the special occasion for which I have ordered this dress. While this place only has limited space, they use every inch of it for dresses and the three dressing rooms. I liked how there were a couple of chairs for people to sit along with candies to eat. Additionally staff were very helpful in ensuring good fit and picking out options.
