The schedule was really vague on when the fashion show was going to occur but there was a goal to get there at the start of the night to get my friend (the engaged one) her free ticket to the January Bridal Show. It was an interesting night with various wedding related vendors and the fashion show wasn't the typical these are the hottest and newest trends but look at these styles and what is or isn't working on the model. The host and owner was very direct with these comments and even stopped the models to show what things would look like if things were adjusted properly in fitting. I felt I learned so much and I'm only the supporting friend in search of a good dress! Afterwards everyone walked around and interacted with vendors plus snooped out the dress selection. Some ladies in the crowd were even trying on dresses (brave as there was a lot of critics giving input with so many ladies in the room walking by as they looked at themselves in the mirrors). There was even one lucky bride that actually found her gown that evening & for shopping that night got 15% off! Everyone else was welcome to book an appointment and have an opportunity to have 10% off if they returned on another night to try dresses. Everything bridal was on the main floor and the second half of the shop looked like it was dedicated to the men's clothing & tuxs. Upstairs there was an area labeled for bridesmaids. That wasn't open during the evening but I was perfectly ok with that being there were a TON of stairs. Lots of fitting rooms all over the main floor and the bathroom was beautiful, clean and a wheelchair would have no problem accessing it even though you need to go all the way to the back of the shop. My friend was really impressed with the owner's personal suggestions to her on what she's looking for and how picky she was with the fit of dresses on people. So she's planning on returning for a quieter day to look at dresses. I'd say if you're ISO a dress this would be worthwhile driving northwest to give this place a look. The very least, you'll know what dress shape you're looking for to best fit your body.

So that sister booked an evening appointment for our little sister. Once again this place did not disappoint. This place is grande. It's warm and romantic and the staff are caring and kind. We were the only ones there at first then another few ladies came in. My sisters consultant was Trish. Trish was phenomenal. My sister felt glamorous and special. Trish walked around with Samantha and helped her out kept everything to Sam's budget. Trish you could tell knows what she is doing. She made us all feel amazing as Samantha tried on several gowns. Trish was incredibly helpful and listened to Samantha. She showed us how to change up the dresses to add sparkle here or there and how they can make every alteration needed so that it is perfect. Trish made the experience one of a kind. Samantha found her wedding dress that evening and it was the first one she tried on. I also love that the groom can get his tuxedo rental for free because she purchased a dress. We are also buying our bridesmaid dresses here and we will be requesting Trish. If you want to feel so special and cared for just as you see on "Say Yes to the Dress" this is the place to go. She called the day before to confirm all the details because once before they had messed up her time when they called her to confirm. The time was always Saturday at 130. We get there and are rudely greeted and told she has no appointment but they can probably fit her in just need to wait. I was relatively new to Edmonton so I had to do some research on reputable bridal stores. I visited a couple of bridal stores and was either not impressed with their service or their selection of dresses didn't suit my taste. I didn't find my dress at Novelle until my second or third visit but after I couldn't stop thinking about it I realized it was the one. I worked primarily with Diana throughout my experience at Novelle and she was nothing but lovely. She was warm, kind and patient, and did a wonderful job with narrowing down dresses and offering helpful opinions on flattering styles. Novelle may not have the biggest dress inventory compared to other stores in Edmonton, but the quality and selection of styles are absolutely beautiful and you can tell careful thought was put into each one that was purchased for the store. They carry brands including Watters Wtoo (my dress designer), San Patrick, Theia, Allure, Paloma Blanca, Nicole Miller, and Tara Keely. I was also initially drawn to visiting Novelle during my initial search for a dress because they were the only bridal retailer (that I was aware of at the time) that carried Ivy and Aster. I ordered my dress in January and it arrived before the end of May, a few weeks before the estimated arrival. Bonus! I also ended up doing my alterations with them with their in-house seamstress Melody. Doing your dress alterations with Novelle is completely optional, but as I didn't have to get too much done to my dress it was more convenient for me to stick with them. Their prices were comparable to other seamstresses I received quotes from, but I would still recommend getting quotes from outside sources to compare prices. My dress was primarily lace and I was anxious about alterations, but Melody did a fantastic job. Between picking up my dress and getting my first round of alterations done, Novelle moved up the street to a bigger location. The store is beautiful! I almost wish I had my dress shopping experience there. Their new space is a definite upgrade in terms of room for more inventory, fitting rooms, and natural lighting. They also have a beautiful veil and jewellery collection, as well as many chic bridesmaid dresses to choose from. My entire experience with Novelle was wonderful and I couldn't be more happy with them.

We took a chance on Sara's and I'm so glad we did. It was the second store we went to. We walked in on May 19th, with Grad coming up on June 7th. The saleslady acknowledged that it was a tight timeline, but wasn't worried. She explained the layout of the store and let us look around for a few minutes. She was incredibly helpful with pulling dresses and getting them done up. We found THE dress quite easily. It was only the second or third one that was tried on, but there was no interest in anything else after that. They had the correct size/colour combo in their warehouse and said it would be in in a week. So, back we went on May 24th to try on the dress again. The seamstress was standing by to make note of what we wanted done, and made a few suggestions. I was worried but she assured me that the dress would be ready by June 5th and it would be perfect. She was right. It was absolutely stunning. It fit perfect and the alterations were amazing. The dress was $525 and the alterations were $189, but hey... you only graduate once! I would definitely recommend this store to others. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Side note... on one of our visits to the store, there was a lady there trying on dresses for her wedding. She was probably in her 40s or 50s and mentioned that this was her 3rd wedding. The staff gushed over her like they would any young bride and helped her find the dress of her dreams. It was so heartwarming to watch.

My daughter is a size 12 and the consultant spent more time body shaming her and saying they can't pull what she wants because she's too big. The woman pulled all big fluffy gowns from the plus size rack which is exactly opposite of what my daughter wanted. She embraces her curves and doesn't deserve to be belittled.
