I had the pleasure of attending this location on May 24th with the bride (my daughter) her maid of honour and my sister. We made a last minute appointment on this day as we had a horrible experience at another shop on the south side of Edmonton. Pure Bridal is beautifully decorated, the staff are attentive and courteous. The change rooms are completely private, the dresses are stunning (and clean) and the consultant did her job in finding the dress that was "the one". The reason i joined yelp was just to express my feeling about this local "bridal boutique" I walked into Pure Bridal approx 8 days ago and was stunned with the poor service. Walking into a boutique you would expect politeness, respect , and class but it was the complete opposite of my expectations. Im a bride getting married in the fall of 2011 and my budget for my wedding gown and accessories is no more than 10K. The reason why i went to pure bridal is because they are the only ones that carry high end gowns by the designers that i like. After my first 15 minutes in the shop i was appalled by the attitude ( by the way the staff are the owners). I noticed the girls that were not the owners who were working werent even happy to work for these ladies. 1. They are RUDE 2. I was RUSHED (im spending thousands of dollars on a gown dont rush me) 3. They snap their fingers and point at people DISRESPECTFUL Nonetheless, Ive booked a flight to New York to go and shop for my wedding dress. Thank you Pure Bridal for such a bitter experience im going to enjoy a fabulous weekend in NY due to your lack of service. I don't like to be harsh, but I expected more from this bridal salon. However I also know that finding the best bridal salon experience for you is a very personal experience. I thought this place would be right up my alley as they seem to tout themselves as the non-bridal bridal experience. Turns out, it wasn't sadly...even though I wanted it to be. I think my problems began with my appointment starting late, and I felt a bit put out by that. On top of that, I got a consultant who told me she was leaving the shop in a few weeks ( and the bridal business entirely) so her heart didn't seem to be quite in it. I was shown a number of dresses but unfortunately most of them were very similar to each other, despite my asking for different styles to be brought. I just kept getting morphs of the same style. I was also never informed of price, even though I asked. However, I was not rushed (perhaps that is why my appointment started late) which was nice. Since I had a very tight dress deadline (wedding was four months away) and I semi-liked one dress I did feel a bit of pressure to order it then and there (the salesperson ran after me out of the store to tell me if I wanted the dress they had to order it RIGHT THEN) but as I was shopping alone, I felt like I needed another set of eyes. Unfortunately I never returned. I will say what I liked about the store: they offer a selection of designer dresses, for those brides looking for a bit higher grade (and price tag) of bridal gown in Edmonton. Well known names Pronovias and La Sposa gowns are carried here. The store's location is great: I recommend a post dress latte at Credo Coffee. They also pack a lot of dresses into the shop, which itself is quite modern and fresh. Perhaps I just didn't know how to shop for a bridal gown properly however, as I feel like I didn't scrape the surface on what was available there. I had never heard of Pure Bridal until a friend asked me to go with her to help pick out a wedding dress. It's tucked away on 104 St. It's bigger on the inside than you would think, kind of long and narrow. The area with the gowns in it is very open and neat. They don't have as many dresses as some of the other bridal stores in town, but this store is more of a high end boutique than other bridal stores I've been to. The prices are also much higher than I've seen elsewhere. This probably has a lot to do with the brands the carry, and also maybe a little bit to do with the rent they must pay here and the way the space is styled. They are definitely catering to a class of brides that is a little higher than I'm used to. The store is gorgeous and classy. Dark wood floors and white furniture stand out. The change rooms are really cool. Rather than a bunch of change rooms in a common area around a few big mirrors and stools like most places, the rooms are huge and private, with a little couch for your entourage outside, and then another curtain for even more privacy. There were six to eight of them altogether. The selection process was also different from every other bridal shop I've been to. Usually your consultant will give you and your girls a few tags to pick out some dresses you like while she also pulls a few she thinks would fit. We did look through a bit, but it seemed like we were a bit discouraged from doing that as we were not given any tags. The consultant did ask if there were any we liked, but I got a bit tired of running back and forth across the store just to show her the one or two we liked. I have to say she did have a very good eye and picked some great styles for my friend. I kind of had mixed feelings about our consultant throughout. It took me a while to realize she was handling two appointments at the same time. I'm not sure if that's their normal practice, but if it is, they should change it. Hire more consultants if you need to. There were several times when my friend was ready to go onto the next dress and had to stand there in it for five minutes or more for the lady to help her get out of it. Our appointment was only an hour. In the end, it was alright, but I still didn't appreciate it. Like I mentioned, she did pick a lot of beautiful dresses and was helpful, but not super nice like I've seen at other stores. My friend ended up getting a dress from here, and the consultant was much friendlier when we were sitting at the desk writing up the contract and everything. Overall, our experience was just ok. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because the prices are high and the service was just average. read more

I heard through a friend of a friend of a bad experience that happened here. I called and spoke to Corinna about what I had heard. She was upset about what happened and told me to apologize profusely to the bride. This makes me feel good that even though there was an incident of terrible customer service, not everyone there feels that way and they want to do better. I really appreciate that. read more

I ended up ordering my veil and bridesmaid dresses through Pure Bridal and I wanted to update my review with my further experiences - no change in the star rating though. On our marathon bridesmaid dress shopping day, Pure Bridal was our first stop. Their selection of bridesmaid dresses was phenomenal for what we were looking for (knee length with straps). Between myself and my two bridesmaids we were able to pull at least 15 dresses to try on - more than we found at all the other salons we visited combined. Our sales associate (Laura) was also fantastic. Along with clipping the backs of the dresses to help them fit better, she brought straight pins and shortened straps and pinned up hems. This was so helpful for envisioning what the dresses would look like in the correct size. I had the girls measured here for two final contenders, and I ended up going back with my mom to order the dresses the week later. I also purchased my veil when I returned to purchase the dresses. They had many lengths, styles and colors, and the veils are ordered new from a company (I like that you're not buying a veil that other women have tried on). I also came in at less than half what I had budgeted for a veil, which was a win-win. My purchasing trip went much less smoothly than the experience I had picking out the dresses and the veil, and is the reason I didn't bump up the star rating. I called ahead when I made the appointment to tell them I was coming in to order the veil and the dresses, and I was assured that the style numbers of both were on file and that they would fill out the paperwork for the bridesmaid dresses so I wouldn't have to sit and watch them do it. When I arrived, I was assigned to a consultant that took me to a dressing room and gave me a form to fill out as a first time bride shopping for a wedding dress and left. When she came back I had to clarify that I didn't need a fitting room, and I was here for items that were already on file. We started with the veils and the girl couldn't find the veil I put on the file, and I had to go over to the rack and find it myself. I didn't mind too much, but given my dress shopping experience (see previous review), I am continually surprised at how inexperienced the staff at this location appear to be. Ordering the bridesmaid dresses ended up taking nearly 45 minutes. The owner was there (I had met her before when they were located downtown) and she was pushy, pushy, pushy! Both of my bridesmaids measured between sizes and she kept trying to talk me into ordering the smaller of the two for both girls. I flat out refused, especially considering that my MOH was measured immediately after a bad flu that had caused her to lose weight - the last thing I want is dresses that are too small. I wanted extra fabric for alterations as well, and was able to do so, but the owner didn't understand what I wanted to do with the fabric and kept telling me it couldn't be done until I finally got my point across. The whole process was slightly exhausting. Both the veil and the dresses arrived exactly within the timeframe predicted at the store, and look great. You don't require an appointment for a pick up, but they ask that you call ahead so they can "steam out" the garment and get it ready for you. When I picked up my veil I didn't recognize it because it was so wrinkled. The owner (again) insisted that it had been steamed and it was the plastic bag that instantly caused it to be wrinkled again. She said I would have to steam it out at home before my wedding. Since I don't own a steamer I asked to have it steamed a "second" time at the store, and sat and waited. When it came back out, it looked perfect, and after being transported home and hanging in my closet for a month, no additional wrinkles have appeared. I wish they would have just apologized and steamed it properly instead of making excuses and trying to send me home with a veil that looked like used tin foil. Overall, I'm impressed with the bridesmaid dress selection and the veil selection, but the staff leave so much to be desired. To be quite honest I only set up an appointment at two places in Edmonton because my mom was coming in to visit and we wanted to do the dress shopping experience together. I thought I already had my heart set on a dress I saw from a store in LA. We went on a Wednesday afternoon so I was the only bride to be in the store. My consultant was very helpful, the store was very pretty and I did really enjoy that my first experience was with a consultant picking out dresses for me. Having to ponder through a million dresses when you don't know what you are looking for can be so daunting. The only problem is that I am having a beach wedding and I know exactly in my head the kind of beachy wedding dress I was looking for and the consultant kept bringing me ball gowns. While they were really pretty it was not what I was looking for. They seemed pretty well priced, but then compared to the next place I went (see review of Novelle) they really weren't. I suppose you pay more for having the consultant fawn over you, but when they aren't bringing you the right kind of dresses then what is the point? We were there for over an hour with no luck and had to get to our next appointment. I left thinking that I would still take the one from LA. read more

After appointments at almost every store in town without much success and WITH a lot of terrible service, dirty change rooms and overall factory-like experience, I booked an appointment at Pure Bridal. I am so happy I did. The store space is lovely and the change rooms are spacious and also lovely. The attendants were very informed and in-tune with my needs and thanks to their knowledge I found the perfect dress - chosen by them. At a subsequent appointment, and prior to actually ordering the gown, one of the attendants happily took the time to pin the length of my entire gown up so I could see what it would look like once altered. I can't speak for others but I had an amazing experience and would recommend Pure Bridal to anyone and everyone. read more

I had a great experience shopping here and loved that the store had a large selection of dresses and private seating area for my two guests. My previous dress appointments had been extremely frustrating due to busy stores and inattentive consultants, but our consultant at Pure (Christina maybe?) quickly zeroed in on what I liked and didn't like. She was respectful of my budget and didn't try to put me in things I wouldn't be comfortable in. There was no pressure to buy a dress and her knowledge about certain designers was spot on. By the end of the appointment I wasn't able to make a decision (it had been a long day of travel and appointments) but there wasn't any pressure to decide then and there. I ended up buying one of the dresses at a store closer to the city I live in but am extremely grateful for the wonderful environment at the store. As we left my future sister-in-law said "that was the experience I was hoping for you". Overall highly recommended! read more

She gave me a nice combination of help and letting me do my own thing; also, even though there was another lady in the store and I didn't have an appointment, I was helped fairly promptly. I am so surprised to hear such negative reviews of this place. First of all the store is absolutely gorgeous. The fitting rooms are huge, the whole place feels open and modern and very clean, and there is tons of privacy so when you are trying on dresses only you and the people you brought will see anything unless you start actually walking through the store in a dress. After shopping in a store where the consultant didn't even fit into a fitting room with me and thus had to lace up the dresses with the door open this was a very nice change! The whole place feels very high-end even though there is a big range of prices. I shopped for my wedding dress in several cities including Toronto and Edmonton and this was hands down my favourite store because it is so well designed. Just walking in there made me feel special. They have a great selection of dresses and they don't squish them all together or into plastic bags the way a lot of other stores do. All the dresses I tried on were in very good condition and there was a nice variety of silhouettes, fabrics and price ranges. My consultant did a great job. Pure bridal was the first place I took my mom and bridal party to, so they were very excited and more or less ran the appointment by going through the racks and bringing me dresses and veils. I know that the consultants prefer to bring the dresses out themselves but my consultant was very patient and let my group go all over the store. She also read the situation very well, as she kind of sat back and let us discuss the dresses but stayed there the whole time to help out when I needed her. She did give some feedback but it didn't feel like a "hard sell" like at some other places; she was just friendly and helpful and supportive. I ended up buying my dress here but not right away; I shopped around some more but I just felt so much more comfortable at Pure Bridal than at the many dirty, messy and stuck-up bridal stores that are all over Edmonton. Seriously the worst experience ever. I am so happy I got y wedding gown elsewhere. I got my 6 bridesmaids dresses at Pure Bridal. First appointment went fine and the girl was really helpful. However, one of the sales people revealed that my maid o 0f honour was pregnant to another bridesmaid. The problem is that my MOH told them in confidence as she had to order a different dress - she hadn't told anyone yet. Me included. To make matters worse, They mixed up two of my bridesmaids dresses up - giving the size 8 a size 2 and vice versa. It was too late to do anything about it because the size 2 had already tailored her size 8 and we only figured this all out 2 weeks before my wedding. When I intially called to tell them what happened, the salesperson was receptive and told me to bring the tailoring receipts in for reimbursement. Less than an hour later, the owner called me accusing me of lying and that it was the tailors fault because she knew 100% she wouldn't mix th dresses up. Problem was - my bridesmaids had different tailors! She then proceeded to call both bridesmaids saying she needed proof. They had proof - the tags on the dress said it all! They were both reimbursed for tailoring but the owner wouldn't show face to either of them. I also saw the owner yell at her staff in front of me which was super unprofessional. I would say don't go here. I will never refer them to anyone. Bad experience. Had a great experience at bridal house finding my wedding gown! read more

The salon is beautiful, the selection is vast and the service we received was excellent. You could see and feel a little cattiness among the consultants but it never affected our experience at all. I went to this shop to get my grad dress. I LOVE IT!!!!! it's charming, elegant, and defiantely high end. They specialize in vera wang bridal couture. And their set up for bridesmaid dresses is good too. You can order any dress you want in literally any color imaginable, and in different materials. And they have corresponding colors for different styles of dresses aswell. I would recommend this place for grads, weddings, or any event when you want to look radiant. They tailor the dresses to fit you perfectly. Love it! read more

I booked an appointment thinking this was the place I would find my dress. My appointment started late and then they came and switched consulantes on me right after I finished explaining the type of dress I wanted. I am getting married in Mexico and was looking for a beach wedding dress. She didn't listen to any of my requests and keep pulling big dresses. She took quite a while to come back after each dress and maybe that's why I only got to try on a few. Almost halfway through she said well we have time for 1 more!? At this point I didn't even want to continue, they did make my experience special in any way I would NOT recommend this bridal place for anyone! read more

I first visited Pure Bridal on a weekday evening after having already been to Bridal Debut in Sherwood Park and Crystal's Bridal on 97st. My matron of honor recommended I try shopping at Pure Bridal for the experience alone as she shopped there for bridesmaids dresses for a wedding she was in a couple years ago. She had nothing but positive things to say and added that it's a unique experience compared to other salons so I was very much looking forward to my appointment! It's a stunning shop. It's beautiful and fancy and to be honest I was a little worried that they wouldn't have anything in my price range! They have lots of gorgeous dresses for differing price ranges though and I loved their selection more than any other bridal shop I've been to. I brought my mom and sister with me and I loved that we got our very own private area to comfortably try on dresses. My change room was extremely spacious and I just loved that there were no prying eyes when I was trying on dresses. Jocelyn was my bridal consultant and she was fantastic. Every dress she pulled for me was better than the last; she was amazing at gauging what I was going for even though I was still unsure of what I wanted for myself! She immediately zoned in on what shape looked best on me and pulled a wide arrange of styles in the same shape for me to try on. What I really loved was that Jocelyn gave us space to discuss each dress as she was searching for other dresses to pull. She let us take a lot of pictures and told me to think about it and to call back anytime I'm ready to make another appointment as they had my favorites on file (she kept track based on what I said I liked the most). I didn't feel pressured at all and it was exactly what I had hoped my wedding dress shopping experience would be like and more. This was the only bridal shop that didn't pressure me into making a decision right there and then and gave me room to breathe and take it all in. Jocelyn was fabulous, incredibly helpful, and made the appointment really fun for my family and I. I found the one (I'm going back tomorrow to purchase my dress!) and it is so the opposite of what I thought I wanted for myself, I think Jocelyn was just that good at tapping into what would look special on me. I went to Pure Bridal on my first outing to buy a wedding dress. The girl who helped me was awesome. I cant remember her name, but she was a student and only worked on saturdays or something. I told her what I was looking for and everything she picked fit the description. I found my dress! I went back a few weeks later to order the dress and it was a different lady helping me. The size I tried on in store fit well, and was a tiny bit snug around the waist. I was going to order the size I tried on, but the lady said that it is easier to take in then out and maybe should consider ordering a size larger. I tried to ask her questions about sizing and get some advice, but I was disappointed that she offered me very little advice as she wanted to remove herself from all liability but make the sale. For the price that I paid for the dress, it would have been nice to know I was ordering a good size. The dress arrived about 6 months later. It was far too big on the top. I was not very happy. The same lady kept telling me that I could just buy a special bra to fill out the top of the dress. This made me upset because I am not a very busty person, and so this would have looked weird and would not have helped with the other issues (straps falling off, too big on waist, and back gaping). I have been working with a seamstress (who they dont provide) to try and get the dress where it should be. I have been feeling quite stressed about it because she is trying to make major alterations without changing the dress. I like the dresses that pure bridal have, but not very impressed with their staff when it comes to deciding on the right size and offering advice on the dress. Although the dress is beautiful, I am feeling very discouraged with the fit at the moment. My seamstress (not recommended by Pure Bridal) is doing a great job to make it fit properly. I have been in three bridal parties so have some experienced with dress shopping experiences from helping with the brides dress shopping and bridesmaid dresses, but never with Pure Bridal. As a bride I had already visited two other salons that were great, but I just didn't find 'the dress'. Today I had an appointment to try on some dresses here. I was greeted right away by friendly staff and taken in right away. They have fabulous separate rooms for each bride and her entourage to sit which I really liked. It's like your own personal viewing room. My consultant was extremely friendly and went though everything with me. She looked at all the pics of dresses I brought with me and went to work right away pulling dresses. Every dress I tried on I liked and was what I was going for, but I knew right away when I tried on 'the one!!'. My consultant was very knowledgeable about each dress and the options it came with. Once I found the dress I wanted I went to be measured by another lady who again was fabulous! Very friendly and gave good advice with measuring and alterations. She went over everything and was just enjoyable to talk to. Paying and the paper work was also a breeze. Couldn't be happier with the buying experience. We then just looked at Bridesmaid dresses where we were also given great service! Awesome experience and already recommending Pure Bridal to friends!! read more

Let me start this by saying I've actually been into Pure Bridal 4 times for seperate things. I went in 2012 to shop for my sisters gown and later for bridesmaid dresses. This year, I went in to look at bridal gowns for myself and again for dresses for my mother and future mother-in-law. I can definitely say these appointments have been progressively worse. Shopping for my sister's gown was generally a good experience. Huge private dressing area and a large selection of some beautiful gowns. The consultant was friendly, but I remember my sister saying she didn't feel that the dresses being pulled were actually what she had asked for, as if the consultant wasn't really listening. Ultimately she found her gown at Novelle, but we returned to Pure Bridal a few months later because they had a large bridesmaid selection. We did find our dresses there and didn't have any issues ordering or with items being picked up. They even allowed me to try on my dress on a weekend with absolutely no issues due to my out of town work schedule at the time. Fast forward two years and I scheduled another appointment with Pure Bridal to look for my bridal gown. The consultant was generally good - she listened to what I wanted and was pulling dresses in line with my vision. I actually found a dress I really liked, but ultimately chose a gown at Delica Bridal. Just this past weekend, I took my sister (Maid of Honour), mom, and mother-in-law to be to look for dresses specifically for the moms. I had the same consultant from my bridal appointment. First of all, I specifically emailed requesting a Mother of the Bride appointment, but was scheduled for a bridal consult. When we arrived, we were one of the first appointments that morning and they sat us in one of the big private dressing areas and started asking me about what I was looking for in my gown - we told them we booked an appointment for the moms and we were taken out of the large room (even though there wouldn't have been another appointment coming in to take it) and brought to these tiny change rooms in the back of the shop with only two little stools to sit on. We shared the area with a large group of bridesmaids as well. We had two consultants now (I think one was a new employee?) and the one leading the appointment was obviously displeased with us requesting various dresses. Even my sister commented when we left the shop that the consultant didn't bother hiding the fact that she wasn't into this. We had almost NO help, and she seemed annoyed that we were pulling dresses on our own even though she invited us to do so! We didn't find anything here, but I certainly wouldn't encourage anyone to book an appointment at Pure. I also recommend that the consultant get a reminder from management on proper customer service! read more

I was at the new west end location on the weekend with a friend shopping for her wedding dress, and it was a great experience. Nice, private rooms with a couch for the guests to sit on. Lots of mirrors so the bride can see all angles. Selection was excellent! My friend wanted a very specific style and Pure Bridal had a lot more to offer than any of the other stores we have been to. I think the consultant was the owner, and she was awesome. She understood the style, brought lots of dresses, different belts, veils, and bird cages to try on. She was patient while we discussed things, provided excellent advice, and never pressured the bride to hurry up or buy. The bride is very happy with her choice and the experience. I was very impressed with this store and the sales associates that I dealt with. The ladies knew their inventory and were very skilled at matching my bridesmaids with dresses that suited their age and the venue of my wedding. We live out of town and Alyssa was more than accommodating for our appointments. I wish I could give this salon more than five stars!! It was the best experience thus far! I was very iffy on visiting this salon due to the reviews on here - LUCKILY for me my friend had gone to this salon about a month or two before I started shopping and she insisted I go. Thank god I listened to her because it was everything a wedding dress shopping experience should be. First of all the salon was GORGEOUS. You got your own private room with a couch for your entourage. The girl I had was amazing - I think her name was Corina or something? She started out by asking me what I was looking for and my price range and asked if I minded her pulling some dresses for me. I ended up preferring the consultant pulling dresses as she brought me more dresses I liked than I found in any other salon. She also only brought dresses that fit overly butt - as a bit of a bigger bride that was a huge issue in other salons. There is nothing Worse than finding a dress you really want to try and and knowing it won't fit over your butt. It was like this consultant could read be perfectly - every dress she brought in I actually loved! The first dress she put on me ended up being my favourite (and the cheapest one I liked all weekend!! - which is four appointment's at different stores) and it was something I never would have chose for myself! I couldn't even believe how many dresses I liked - such great selection. I recommend this store to EVERY bride. While I didn't end up getting my dress at this store it was the best experience thus far and I think every bride deserves to experience this salon and see their fantastic selection read more

They have a great selection of dresses however my consultation was nothing special. The girl did not understand what I wanted at all even though I had brought pictures of gowns from designers they advertised in their store. My mom and maid of honour had to walk around the store to actually find a decent dress for me to try on. Then the girl didn't know how to measure me properly either because instead of fitting me to the dress I wanted, which was an a-line gown, she puts me into a mermaid style dress and makes me order a gown 2 sizes too big (according to the lady who I now will have to pay a fortune to for alterations). When I went back to the store they tried to blame me for the dress being to big saying that I had lost too much weight even though I hadn't lost a pound. I also ordered a head band and it's already taken 2 and a half months to come in and won't be in for another month (even though they only said it would take 2 months to come in). This store is ridiculous and I would NOT recommend for anyone to go here. read more

I went into Pure Bridal to try on dresses hoping to find "the one." I did. Although I completely fell in love with it, I waited before purchasing it as I had only been to a few stores. Because my wedding will be in Calgary, I decided to call a few bridal stores to see if any stores carried the brand so that my altering/fitting needs could be met easier. Many stores carried the brand but didn't have the exact dress to try on. However, unexpectedly, the store gave me the price of the dress without even asking. It was 500 cheaper than what Pure Bridal had it for. MOST DESIGNERS HAVE A STRICT PRICE POLICY! Make sure you check around or ask the actual designer for a price quote before paying for a dress. I brought this concern up to the lady and she LIED to me and told me that the lady that gave me the price quote in Calgary was mistaken and no longer worked there. On top of that she refused to let me try on the dress again because "I wasn't a committed buyer." I didn't think brides had to be committed to try on the thousands of dresses that they try on! I ended up trying on the dress regardless and went home, called the Calgary location again, and was given the price quote that was originally given to me! I saved $500. It is against policy for stores to price dresses however they feel! I will be emailing the designer to let them know. Brides shouldnt have to go through this hassle! read more
