AWESOME cupcakes! Debbie help make a bridal shower into a definite memorable and sexy one. She make these VERY sexy cute lingerie cupcakes (they were all different and filled cupcakes, to boot!). Everything is done online and via email, which is wonderful based on my crazy schedule. I started off wanting an elaborate crazy drum kit cake and she explained why that would not have been in my best interest so I sent her photos of my husband's favorite snare drum. Debbie Goard is a crazy talented artist, and she made us the most insanely beautiful, artful, and totally awesome cake i could ever have imagined! it really stole the show for our whole wedding. we wanted a non-traditional cake, to say the least. the design we landed on was a stack of our favorite books, complete with some bookends, and then a topper that featured us each sitting against a tree reading, with our dog between us on the grass and our cat sitting on one of the tree branches. i found Debbie online and sent her an inquiry about making our cake, and we became fast friends. she was great to work with over email (i think that's her preferred method of communication, which worked well for me), and she sent me a sketch of what she envisioned based on our initial conversations. it looked great to us so we moved forward with deciding on book titles for the cake and nailing down other small details. Debbie is super detail oriented, and when we met in person to finalize the plan, she asked lots of questions to make sure she had every single base covered. i was ambivalent about whether i wanted the books to look realistic or just fun and whimsical, so i left the decision to Debbie. she decided to go the realistic route, so she downloaded actual pictures of each book's cover from the internet, and then she printed the covers with edible ink. she then somehow transferred the ink onto the fondant, so the finished product included a stack of books that looked EXACTLY how they'd look if you saw them on a shelf in a bookstore. the cake was simply ridiculously amazing. i don't know what else to say. i have seen a bunch of her other work on her website and on yelp, so i had high expectations for the cake... but she WAY exceeded our expectations. and let me not forget how delicious it tasted to boot! we opted for devil's food cake with salted caramel, mocha, and chocolate ganache fillings. we have a bunch of pieces left over, and we'll look forward to the treat of eating them one at a time over the next couple months. in the end, we had to call a 5 minute warning before we cut the cake so that people could finish taking pictures of it. everyone was entirely blown away by it, and many people could not believe it was an actual cake and not a real stack of books! it was awesome. we kept the topper and will do our best to preserve it forever. she asked for lots of pictures of us and of our pets, so the figures on the topper look pretty accurate. amazing. the craziest thing is that, in researching various cake vendors that were recommended or rated highly on yelp, Debbie's prices were less expensive than other bakers who did way more traditional cakes. so not only did we get the coolest wedding cake ever, we got it for less money than a much less interesting cake would have cost from a different vendor. if i won the lottery tomorrow i'd quit my job and ask Debbie if she'd let me apprentice her. she is a fantastic artist, and i feel lucky to have been able to work with her to design our cake. it was unforgettable, and we could not have been happier with it. :) read more

She is amazing! I attended a birthday party where she had done a fish cake - a trout I think - and we cracked up! It was so lifelike it was almost freaky. Then we tasted the cake and it was yummy! So I asked her to create a Volkswagon Westfalia cake for my brothers birthday - and asked for deadhead accents. Wow! It was an amazing cake! It had a licence plate that read "GDTRFB" and dead stickers on the back window. She also put it on a tye-dye board which was a great touch. People loved it! It was a little pricey at first ($250 for cake for 30) because that was the smallest she could do, but I would pay it again in an instant. Also, it tasted great - and although it was technically cake for 75, out party ate almost the whole thing (the pigs!) She was also GREAT to work with and very nice. I got my husband's groom's cake from Debbie last month and it turned out absolutely amazing. It tasted quite good and she captured the picture I wanted perfectly. And considering I was a huge flake and forgot to confirm my order with her until like a week before I needed it, and she actually still did my order and wasn't an asshole about it in the least!, I really appreciate her and her work. I hate to have to give 4 stars but we did have a bad experience with the delivery guy. I admit it was my fault - I was off getting my hair done before the wedding and had the money to pay the guy in my purse but completely forgot to give it to my Dad to take to the venue. So I get a frantic phone call from my Dad, saying the cake delivery guy is screaming at people, demanding immediate payment, not giving my Dad a few minutes to run to the ATM. I know he's got a schedule to adhere to and probably has more deliveries, but screaming at people? Seriously? My Dad said the guy's lucky he didn't get an opportunity to talk to me that way or he'd have got an ass kicking. This was my 2nd time using Debbie for a birthday cake. I used her in 2010 for my fiance's (boyfriend at the time) 25th birthday. I had a custom BMW 650 cake made for him which was absolutely beautiful and tasted sooo good. So when it came to my fiance's 30th birthday I knew I had to contact her again. This time I wanted something a little easier (easier in my opinion lol.) I decided on a cake carved like a tuxedo with a little customization on the bowtie.
