Amazing job on our roof. Frank spent a lot of time with us discussing and answering all our questions. We also had our gutters replaced. Already had the first downpour and what a difference. Frank is personable and listen to our concerns. Reach out to him. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Deats Roofing - New roof 2023 - Roofing Near Me

I had Deats Roofing replaced my whole roof in Oct 2022. The job completed smoothly and timely, if I reviewed upon the completion, I would give 5 star. Frank told me to get a handyman whose name is Gary to do something on my attic which I don't know the details. I went on a long trip soon after. I called Gary after I returned from trip, and he said Frank did mentioned the there is something to be done in my attic. Gary came in and up to the attic, did nothing but mis-stepped and caused a big hole on the top of hallway, so he had spent whole about a day to fix that hole he generated and I had to pay him hourly... To keep the story short, I started to notice the leaking along one side wall near roof ridge area in garage after a year or so, I texted Frank about the leaking but got no response. Lately, I found top corner of the one wall in my guest room's closet cracked, it also near roof ridge area, but it was caught just recently because of the attic and the closet. The new roof Deats Roofing installed caused leaking and damage! read more

Update December 2023: INFERIOR gutter was installed. I'm currently waiting to see how the subpar gutter will be addressed. Sort of getting acknowledged but basically being ignored so I'll go away. I'll post an update if there is one. My current recommendation is to NOT get new gutters installed by Deats Roofing. September 2023: New composite roof, flat roof, and gutter installed. The roof seems fine but the gutter installation was poor: unclean cuts, sharp points, wood nails were used instead of screws in the gutter, and screws that were used do not touch the wood and connect the gutter to the wood beams. Deats already came out once to address leaking at a joint but I'm currently getting ignored for the major issues called out in November 2023. read more

This review is for agreeing to come and then not showing up and not informing until i called and pestered him. After many messages, he replied with a one line saying he is busy and not coming. When you work with this guy, ensure you have a backup as he is not dependable. I also think the other reviews were posted by friends and family.. read more

Background: when we moved into our Almaden Valley home in late 2003, it had a shake roof, which served us well until a couple years ago when a couple of leaks developed. It got to the point that we were chasing leaks, so we bit the proverbial bullet, and got five estimates from local roofing contractors. We ended up going with Deats Roofing, mainly due to the professionalism and responsiveness on the part of the owner, Frank Deats Jr. Their price was also very competitive, which helped to seal the deal for us. Now that the roof is done, I can confidently state that we were glad that we worked with Deats Roofing. The owner, Frank, oversaw the five-day project on a daily basis, and instantly responded to questions and issues. His crew was great, and very hard-working. Dustin, the foreman of the project, was outstanding. Frank is lucky to have him as part of his crew. We ended up going with CertainTeed Presidential Shake Solaris composite shingles in Country Gray, and Radiant Barrier OSB Plywood Sheathing. A number of O'Hagin attic vents were installed. A wired attic fan was installed in the main attic, and a solar-powered one was installed in the garage. In summary, our much-needed new roof turned out better than expectation. read more

Really poor quality. We asked for roofing installation and unfortunately we were left with a big mess. The roof wasn't installed correctly and our house even had marks from their boots. I also think the other reviews are posted by friends and family. read more

Want to thank Frank and his team. I don't often hire contractors because I do most of my own maintenance, however I hired Frank and his team to install my roof. Man what a great job they did! They keep the area clean, showed up as scheduled and finished on time. I liked them so much I referred them to my niece! Thanks again for a job well done!!! read more

I had a bad roof leak that I found out during the middle of a down pour one weekend. Frank found some time the following day and looked into it and found the cause and had a solution. His quote was very competitive and his team was able to do the repairs and took care some small roof issues. They were very professional. It's been 5 months and we've had 4 big rain storms and there has been no leaks or any other issues. I highly recommend this company for your roofing needs. read more

This is a special review because it is my very first public review on Yelp. It was important for me to write a review in this case because I received such spectacular service from Frank Deats and his team at Deats roofing. Let me be more specific about my experience: 1) When I began researching a new roof I knew nothing at all about roofs, options, materials, etc. I talked and received bids from six other companies. Deats was referred to me by a neighbor that had a very positive experience. As I was researching roofers, Frank stood out in terms of response time and education. He spent a lot of time with me explaining everything from the materials, process and was candid about what options I needed and what I didn't. Frank is a great educator that always put things in laymen's terms for me without making me feel awkward for asking the question. 2)His team was SO hardworking, helpful and courteous. Frank would always visit the site to review their work and bring them lunch. 3) Deats is a family-owned business. As a consumer, It's important for me to support these businesses in order to maintain competition in the marketplace. I also believe there is greater oversight by the owners at these businesses resulting in higher quality of product. 4) speaking of quality of product, we LOVE our new roof. It's made a huge difference in the appearance of our house, we've already received numerous comments from neighbors about how nice it looks and our insurance rates were lowered. In summary, our experience with Deats Roofing was first rate. They are reasonable, easy to work with and provided us with a high quality product. I highly recommend them. read more

After failing to find a roofer to fix a leak, I saw some reviews for Deats on the Nextdoor app and I gave them a call. They were pleasant, responsive and timely in assessing the problem (showed me a video of what they believed to be the issue). About 2 weeks later, before predicted rain, they came and fixed it for a reasonable price. The fix had a great test during our recent Armageddon! No sign of leakage, so I've concluded that I've found that rarity called an honest roofer. I highly recommend this business. read more

I used Deats Roofing 3 years ago and was happy with Frank's responsiveness and quality of work. This review is for August 2023. Frank made an appointment with me to look at the back portion of my house that has a flat roof. He did not show up for the appointment time and didn't call to cancel. He has not responded to any messages I left. Very disappointed after previous positive experience. read more

Excellent job. Frank responded quickly when I contacted him. Efficient. Honest. Fixed the roof tile issues. Thank you Frank.

Despite knowing that I was going to repair the roof vent leak myself, Frank still spent the time to advise me on the issue, and what and where to buy to the sealant. And please note that is during the time when we had the big storm in the Bay Area. This act of kindness will not be forgotten. I will definitely recommend and go to Frank for roof services in the future. read more

Wow. What a great roofing company. My Dad home in Los Altos needed a new roof badly. I assisted him on finding a roofing contractor. After getting many qoutes from shady contractors were getting frustrated. Prices all over the map. We were lucky to find Deats roofing. The whole process was professional all the way through. The whole job was completed in 4 days. 3400 square foot house I might add. Big thumbs up to Deats Roofing!! read more

I was in a panic when I contacted Deats Roofing after discovering a leak in our home office's ceiling. Frank responded to my email within minutes and came by the same day for consult. Due to our conflicting schedules, it took a couple of weeks before he could actually schedule a repair, which included also included clean up and installing bird spikes. However, he made sure to temporarily remedy the leaky roof so no further water damage could be done underneath until my appointment. Throughout the process, he was VERY professional and accommodating. His roof work is excellent, and I couldn't be happier knowing that my roof is leak- and pigeon-free! read more

Finding a roofing company with the right qualifications for a fair price was daunting. We were so relieved to find Frank Deats. Our first impression of him was great, and every part of the process exceeded our expectations. Each step of the roofing job was explained to our satisfaction. We liked the roofing materials that Frank uses and felt confident that Frank would oversee a job well done - peace of mind! Frank stayed available for questions, and his crew was hardworking, respectful of our property and thoroughly cleaned up every day. We like to support small businesses because ones like Deats Roofing take great pride in ownership and are committed to excellence in workmanship and customer service. We highly recommend Deats Roofing. Steve & Jennifer read more

This is a long overdue review, but greatly deserved. We had our house re-roofed by Frank Deats and his team during the end of May. Prior to hiring him we had gone through several bids and chose Frank because of his responsiveness and fair price. During the whole process, he was very good about letting us know what to expect. He even tarped off areas in the garage to protect our shelves from debris. Frank and his crew were super hardworking through the whole process and finished our roof in 2.5 days. Each day he would tell us what to expect and would kindly answer any questions. Once the roof was finished Frank and his crew left the area very clean. Our neighbors commented on how nice the roof came out. We're happy we chose Frank and if we had to replace or repair another roof, we'd gladly hire his services again. read more

On time, friendly and personable owner and crew, thorough work, reasonably priced.

Frank and his team were great. They gave me a very reasonable estimate and came out right away same week after a tree smashed our roof. Fixed the gutter too and stayed on estimate. read more

Frank was the best experience I have had with construction, the best with roofers ever in my life. Showed up right on time and took his time to examine the problem. He was clean, polite and courteous, and genuinely listened to my concerns. After he took a look at the situation, he gave me a verbal quote and followed it up right away with a written estimate. He set up a work date and his team finished up even sooner than he had estimated. My neighbors were impressed with the hussle of his crew. I was impressed with how clean everything was after they were done. Heaven forbid I have more roof problems; but I will surely call Deats Roofing. Their price was very reasonable; their work ethic was solid. Great company and owner. read more

I had 6 different roofing contractors bid on replacing my roof before i called Frank Deats. He did more work by adding extras, it was very high quality materials, he showed me how to save a significant amount of money and did in exactly the time frame he said he would. On top of all of this he was, by far, the lowest bidder. His crew was very professional, courteous and respectful. I would not hesitate to ask Frank to do more work in the future. He is fantastic. read more
