I had Deats Roofing replaced my whole roof in Oct 2022. The job completed smoothly and timely, if I reviewed upon the completion, I would give 5 star. Frank told me to get a handyman whose name is Gary to do something on my attic which I don't know the details. I went on a long trip soon after. I called Gary after I returned from trip, and he said Frank did mentioned the there is something to be done in my attic. Gary came in and up to the attic, did nothing but mis-stepped and caused a big hole on the top of hallway, so he had spent whole about a day to fix that hole he generated and I had to pay him hourly... To keep the story short, I started to notice the leaking along one side wall near roof ridge area in garage after a year or so, I texted Frank about the leaking but got no response. Lately, I found top corner of the one wall in my guest room's closet cracked, it also near roof ridge area, but it was caught just recently because of the attic and the closet. Update December 2023: INFERIOR gutter was installed. I'm currently waiting to see how the subpar gutter will be addressed. Sort of getting acknowledged but basically being ignored so I'll go away. I'll post an update if there is one. My current recommendation is to NOT get new gutters installed by Deats Roofing. September 2023: New composite roof, flat roof, and gutter installed. The roof seems fine but the gutter installation was poor: unclean cuts, sharp points, wood nails were used instead of screws in the gutter, and screws that were used do not touch the wood and connect the gutter to the wood beams. Deats already came out once to address leaking at a joint but I'm currently getting ignored for the major issues called out in November 2023. read more

Background: when we moved into our Almaden Valley home in late 2003, it had a shake roof, which served us well until a couple years ago when a couple of leaks developed. It got to the point that we were chasing leaks, so we bit the proverbial bullet, and got five estimates from local roofing contractors. We ended up going with Deats Roofing, mainly due to the professionalism and responsiveness on the part of the owner, Frank Deats Jr. Their price was also very competitive, which helped to seal the deal for us. Now that the roof is done, I can confidently state that we were glad that we worked with Deats Roofing. The owner, Frank, oversaw the five-day project on a daily basis, and instantly responded to questions and issues. His crew was great, and very hard-working. Dustin, the foreman of the project, was outstanding. Frank is lucky to have him as part of his crew. We ended up going with CertainTeed Presidential Shake Solaris composite shingles in Country Gray, and Radiant Barrier OSB Plywood Sheathing. A number of O'Hagin attic vents were installed. A wired attic fan was installed in the main attic, and a solar-powered one was installed in the garage. In summary, our much-needed new roof turned out better than expectation. read more

After failing to find a roofer to fix a leak, I saw some reviews for Deats on the Nextdoor app and I gave them a call. They were pleasant, responsive and timely in assessing the problem (showed me a video of what they believed to be the issue). About 2 weeks later, before predicted rain, they came and fixed it for a reasonable price. The fix had a great test during our recent Armageddon! This is a long overdue review, but greatly deserved. We had our house re-roofed by Frank Deats and his team during the end of May. Prior to hiring him we had gone through several bids and chose Frank because of his responsiveness and fair price. During the whole process, he was very good about letting us know what to expect. He even tarped off areas in the garage to protect our shelves from debris. Frank and his crew were super hardworking through the whole process and finished our roof in 2.5 days.
