I really enjoy stopping by Death by Donutz for either a sweet treat or a savory bite to eat! The donut selection is great, and some of the best-tasting in town. Unless sold out, they have vegan donuts and icings available. I've always been met with friendly and prompt service here, which is really nice since Monroe Ave. can be a busy place. Be sure to ask for a punch card if you don't yet have one so you can work your way to a raffle prize. While located in a small space, there are a few places to sit inside and they recently moved a large shelf along one of the walls to make room for more seating. There's also (covered) places to sit outside. Whether you're dining in or taking your stash to go, you're in for a tasty time. read more

Potato donut recipes were brought over by German immigrants long ago. Using potatoes in the recipe makes the doughnuts moister, fluffier, richer, and softer, so we wanted to try it out. Step into a small shop with a fun deathly decor of skulls and skeletons and a large display case of donuts. The fancier bars and jelly filled ones are a little more. They serve coffee and other breakfast items but we only came for the donuts. We tried donuts with chocolate and strawberry icing and sprinkles. It was indeed very delicious treat, not too sweet and moist. Definitely worth a drop in. There are a few small tables for two people to sit down and a table out two outside as well. I do wish there they had a little bit more variety of donuts but we should up after lunch so maybe we missed the other donuts. read more

Great doughnuts, but the sarcastic remarks when asking ( and being charged for) a box is unnecessary and unprofessional. Why have them available just to chastise customers? The bags smoosh the more delicate designed doughnuts... are the boxes not there for a reason? Is the surcharge not enough to cover costs and employees feel the need to remark? The male staff member was working today 2/27 at 10 am. Maybe have a chat about this policy? I picked out a variety of donuts including a few plain gluten free ones that looked sad next to the others. The woman working that day took the gluten free ones to the back, put pink frosting and sprinkles on them, and put them in a separate little box. My gluten free coworker was thrilled, she said it felt like it was a present just for her (and it ended up being her lunch, we were slammed that day). Thank you DBD! read more

Great little spot for a very yummy donut and breakfast sandwich. I found the pricing to be fair and was pleasantly surprised at how good the breakfast biscuit was. In-house made biscuit with egg, sausage, cheese and homemade sauce, very good! The maple bar was delightful and the custom donuts looked great, although we did not try any of them. First time visiting Corvallis and I wanted to get crumbl cookies but stumbled upon this place while looking on Yelp and decided to try it. I am so happy I did because the donuts were out of this world!!! They were fresh and had the most amazing flavor. They weren't super sweet either. I could have easily ate them (all 6) in one sitting. I was not prepared on what to choose so I got a couple out of the case and then the rest were made to order specialty items. I will be going back again after I do better research on their flavors and will be trying all of them!! Absolutely recommend. 1000/10 The only thing I will say is study their menu before you go in off their website before you go in so you have an idea of what you want! Worst service ever! The food came out and I had a big order for my family, I specifically asked the guy if it was my order and he said yes. When I opened the package it was not my order. I let the counter guy know and he proceeded to tell me it was my fault for opening the order and that I needed to pay for all the extra food. We will not be back, especially since he told me it was my order! A suggestion to the owner, train your staff on customer service, and I would highly suggest taking names on orders instead of just calling out item numbers. read more

Since my last review, the ownership has changed hands, which has been a positive trend upwards. In fact, so much so, that this place is one of the few businesses I'd passionately defend in a Zombie apocalypse. Their prices are fair, customer service is spot on, and they just make some really great doughnuts that other shops can't compete with. They make a solid Apple Fritter - occasionally, they'll shake it up and do a different flavor for a day or so. They also have a punch card system, which is just a fun novelty. The biggest thing to know is that they're a popular shop and often sell out of things early, so get there early in the morning for the best experience. read more

We have been going to this place since they opened ( not regularly ) quite often. Their biscuits and gravy are well worth it and there Donut's are just as good. They are affordable and much easier on the wallet to treat your self and large numbers of friends. My daughter's have gluten and dairy free restrictions and their vegan Donut's are great. Based in the college town of Corvallis right in front of the campus, you'll be able to try these tasty treat. You have the basic traditional donuts and then the creative donuts. Best recommendation from customers are: raspberry fritter, chocolate old fashion and mocha. All these were extremely good and different in their own way. I get a lot of donuts for meeting and I know these will be gone before I open the box. Note: dozen donuts varies in price on what you want. Street parking available. read more

Death by Donutz is a nice spin on classic donut places. It is expensive, but when you are okay with spending the extra money, this is definitely the spot. They offer lots of fancy takes on classic donuts but also offer more abstract takes that I had never seen. I would absolutely recommend trying at least once. read more

I'm 26 and have never liked donuts in my life until I found DbD. They are not only beautiful and unique but they are delicious too! The donuts themselves are light and fluffy. The fillings are always good. Instead of some generic vanilla they go the extra step to add to it to compliment whatever donut it's going into. They have a wide variety from candy to fruity to seasonal. Their customer service is excellent as well. Always friendly and helpful when I'm asking about flavors or if I'm having a hard time deciding what to get. I always use DbD for donuts now whether I'm getting myself a little treat or I'm taking goodies to family, friends or coworkers. Love, love, love!! read more

Stopped by this little donut shop a couple days ago. Don't have much to say other than I would get there before noon or you'll be getting what we thought were day old donuts. I wanted so bad to like this place. When me and my partner moved to town from Portland a few months ago we stopped in early in the morning for a few vegan donuts (we were super excited to see a place had them in town) but unfortunately they hadn't made any that day. After a nice chat with the owner he told us that he actually doesn't typically make vegan donuts unless they are specially requested, a day in advance. He did tell us that when he does receive a request for vegan donuts he'll make extra, so to call ahead next time to check. This was a bit annoying, seeing as they advertise vegan donuts in their window, but since he was nice and seemed cool we figured we'd try again some other time. We're not the types to order donuts a day in advance, they're more of a spur of the moment thing for us, also we don't want a dozen or more usually, just a couple. So over the last few months we've called several times (early in the morning) to see if they had vegan donuts, and were only successful once. They were ok, but a bit overly sweet and the flavor was pretty one note - sweet. They were also a bit stale. Reminded us of the day old voodoo donuts that you used to be able to get by the five gallon bucket for 10 bucks. Not really our favorite. All in all, for vegan donuts I have to say this spot is not worth all the effort. I understand that this guy doesn't want to have waste, but coming from a food service background something you have to understand is that some waste is inevitable in order to make sure you can provide what your customers want. Some days you sell out, some days you have extra. Most donut spots I'm familiar with usually give away their excess at the end of the day (or sell them discounted) which always makes people happy. We tried to give this spot one last chance this morning, but they didn't have any vegan donuts that were not gluten free. Vegan =/= gluten free, it's super annoying how people tend to lump the two together. We didn't want gluten free donuts, so we passed. What a shame. read more

We love this place which we discovered by accident. Sole proprietor who is OSU business alum and his partner run it . Super quality donuts and coffee and some very unique and creative donuts. High quality coffee that is carefully selected and purchased. Did not try the biscuits and gravy but next time If back in town again. So, after patiently waiting 15 minutes, it's finally my turn. I order Biscuits and Gravy... What you don't have any. There was no signage letting us know. When Asked, the clerk stated they 'were' going to make one. There were two people working one was just standing by the register (training I suppose). YUMMY!!!! They have a wide selection of different types of donuts I have never seen. One of their claims to fame is the "beaver tail." This donut is almost the size of an actual beaver tail and is a classic raised donut covered in orange glaze with white glaze stripes. They sell out of these almost immediately and we love them!!! Love the ever changing menu of donuts DD offers. This is one from St. Patrick's Day. The "Pot of Gold" donut that day was very tasty and went with the day's theme. Staff is very personable and always have good suggestions if you're overwhelmed. Not sure about their cheddar jalapeño, but the blueberry and buttermilk bars are my favorite. read more
