In a mental fog, I booked an appointment and then showed up the day before at the same time. The service department not only honored my appointment (even though I was there on the wrong day, because I'm an idiot), they WASHED my car and provided me with FREE snacks and tea, hilarious daytime TV to watch in a comfy waiting room, magazines to read, and chalk boards to doodle on. For the kids or the four-legged friends, there are books and dog biscuits. I admit I waited until I had arrived safely in SF to review this place.... but I remain impressed! They *could have* totally charged me an arm and a leg in the name of preventative measures (I was worried about taking such a heavy load for so many miles), but they charged me just the state inspection fee and nothing. else. I will absolutely be taking my Franky here next time I'm in Maine, it's worth the drive!!

Purchased a 2008 KIA, paid top dollar for it. Found several defects that were safety issues…read moreincluding rear brakes and front struts. Somehow he got it inspected illegally(?) but I still insisted he fix these issues. Instead of having mechanic do it he told me he fixed it himself at home. All he did was clean them and made them shiny-rear brakes haven't worked in a long time and the struts that he replaced he also just cleaned. 1600 dollars later we finally got it inspected the following year. Had to use a different mechanic even though he said his mechanic will fix it for half the labor-30 usd an hour. Problem is the mechanic left and we were stuck taking it to another mechanic. I took the Automotive Dreams sticker off and threw it away. I feel used and cheep-used to consider myself car savvy but not anymore after getting duped in this KIA.

Because I paid what the car was worth and not what they wanted for the car I did not receive a warranty. Ok, if I'm buying a good car I shouldn't need a 30 day warranty anyway so I should be safe. The car made it 75 days when the head gasket went. The car was in the shop for two months after the head gasket repair because of a timing code. I then had to take it to a Volvo dealer because the first shop couldn't figure out what was wrong. The out come is a junk engine that needs to be replaced. That aside you really can't predict mechanical failure so let me move on to the "Brand new tires". They were hung up on the new tires that they had put on, and pushed quite a bit during the sale. After a short time it would appear that an alignment was never done, so my new tires started cupping. After blowing off some steam in this review and being quite frustrated with my situation, my wife decided to call the dealer just to inform them of what was going on. The owner Derek was quick to respond to her and talk through the issue, but quite frankly Lake City doesn't owe us anything. Because I did not receive a warranty as part of the bargaining process and I would have been beyond the warranty time line anyway. What happened next is the surprise and how every person should run a business. Derek contacted me and said that he would have the tires replaced because it's obvious that something was not right. AND because he wants to take care of his customers the best he can, he's going to give me some money towards the engine replacement. I really appreciate Lake City Exports' customer loyalty and the help that they have given me, above and beyond what they should have. If you ever purchase a vehicle from them and have an issue large or small contact them right away and I'm sure they'll help if they can. Thank you Lake City for your customer care.

Bought my truck with just over 80,000, (just voiding their extended warranty that goes until…read more80,000), for around $26,000 listed price. (Under 100 miles over 80,000) Timing chain went on truck within 2 months. IWE system started being noisey within a month and half. Still isn't right after the dealer has looked at it 3 times. And when I called and asked if they could just hook me up with a mechanic that could get in sooner than the dealer, (I literally stated I don't expect them to do a thing for me as I'm outside their warranty), I got "what do you expect us to do for you". Did end up calling his mechanic who basically told me their first apt availability was a month out. I would say "Buy with confidence" anywhere else and I truly hope this helps someone in the future when looking at their motto.

Took the time to thoroughly look into it, even though they personally weren't able to do the job before I left town. Ended up switching all my Jeep needs to them including towing codes, new tires, alignment & unfortunately a new wheel bearing at the last minute. They were able to fit me in at the very last min with a week before leaving town for this all! Couldn't brag about them more!

Thanks Lee for wasting 3 hours of my day just so you could figure out how to screw me. Update: pet urine smell turned out to be mice infestation, traces found in engine, center console, behind panels in spare tire compartment and in rear bumper. They sold me this car with clear signs.
