My wife and I purchased our second car from Wiscasset Ford this weekend and we were very pleased both times. I must admit that I find buying a car one of life's most painful experiences. I never feel confident that I am getting the best deal or making a good decision. For better or worse, WF has their best price listed on the window sticker and there is no negotiation. The price is very competitive and I appreciate the fact that I do not have to haggle. The staff is excellent and they have a huge inventory that you can browse without high pressure salespeople. had an issue with my car and had another shop fix it under an insurance claim but upon getting it back the issue continued. They told me they only reset the lights despite getting an insurance payout so my insurance agreed to having wiscasset ford inspect their work and finish the repairs. Wisscasset ford took my car completely apart, as told to me by my insurance adjuster when they went out to see it but wiscasset ford told them that nothing was wrong wirh it other than wear and tear. This i knew was BS given the fact that the first shop told me they didnt do all the repairs. My adjuster told me wiscasset ford would call me. That was on a monday. Crickets. Wednesday I called wiscasset ford to be told the car was all set someone would be texting me photos. Crickets. Thursday I was on my way to get the car since I was told it was all set despite not getting any texts. So I called them to confirm my car was ready to be told it was still in pieces waiting for approval on a text they never sent. I reminded them they didn'tsend me anything. I finally got their estimate for repairs that was just under 5,000! They wanted to charge me a crazy amount for new tires for one example. The same price i paid for a Toyota Tacoma but my car is a small 4 door sedan. Knowing their prices are way too inflated and I could get it all done at a better rate and my lack of trust in them, I denied all repairs, According to them nothing was mechanically wrong with it and I knew the issue was due to the first claim. They said I could picked it up the next day. I did, and it had even more issues now than it did prior. The undergarage protector to the motor was dragging on the ground. I heard the noise but had no idea where it was coming from, but when I smelled smoke I pulled over to investigated to see it dragging on the road. I had had enough called my insurance and opened a second claim against wisscasset Ford and had my car towed to my old mechanic in NH whom I did business with for 20yrs prior to moving to maine. Thankful for Triple A premium. They did infact confirm that the first shop did not do all the repairs covered under my first claim and confirmed damage done by wiscasset Ford. My car now had mechanical damage. My insurance will be going after them for reimbursement. I have never had a shop have not just poor communication which is evident by many other reviews but did damage to my vehicle as well. I wonder if any of them are actually certified. It was the most seamless and stress-free car buying experience I have ever had! From the no-haggle price of my CPO Mustang, which was below KBB value and was completely fair, to my salesman David driving the car down to Portsmouth Ford for me to take a test drive (since I live in Massachusetts). They also drove the car from Maine to the North Shore of Massachusetts to deliver the car. This is my third Mustang, and I feel that my happiness and low stress was in large part due to Wiscasset Ford. Right car, right price, right dealership, satisfied Ford owner! Saw this nice looking F-250 2021 with 12500 miles. I walked in and inquired about the price. I was told it listed for 57000.00 brand new and they were asking 65,000.00. I thought WTF? The numbnut I talked too said he doesn't make the pricing. I understand there's a shortage. But 4 people standing around shooting the shit seems awfully excessive given their low volume of sales. I wouldn't buy an air freshener from any dealership that try's to screw the general public and price gouge people in these hard times. Pathetic and very unprofessional. Wiscasset Ford's service department massacred my truck. Long read ahead, TLDR is they did an excessive amount of work for a relatively simple job, which resulted in extra labor and parts cost, and some parts replaced weren't done properly. Brought my '03 F-350 to Wiscasset Ford because there was diesel in the coolant. The technician there diagnosed it as being bad injector sleeves. Wiscasset Ford claimed that they would have to remove the cab to do the service, but we'll get to that later. I agreed, and they proceeded with the work. They had my truck for about a month. And during that month, communication was almost non-existant. I had to reach out every so often just to try and get an update on what was going on, and when I would be able to pick my truck up. When I finally was able to pick the truck up, they told me all of these parts had broken during the process and had to be replaced. They broke a brake line removing the cab. They replaced it, but didn't bleed it properly. The pedal goes to the mat. It was nowhere near this bad when I dropped it off. Cab mounts broke, but I suppose that's to be expected. They broke the starter removing it from the motor. $300+ replacement. They removed my running boards, claimed the mounts were damaged, and threw them in the bed of the truck. They left one mount just hanging on the side. I'm 250lbs and used those running boards every day without issue. Hardware to reinstall running boards is no where to be seen. When I went to pick the truck up, they didn't disclose that the transmission shifter bracket had been rusted out to the point that it doesn't hold the shifter cable properly. They just stated in the paperwork the shift cable is loose. I went outside, got in the truck, threw it in reverse. It rolled forward. Threw it in park. It rolled forward. Technician and service manager came outside, technician said something along the lines of "Oh, it did this to me before" and crawled under the truck to show me the bracket and where he had zip tied it to try and hold it in place. It never had this issue before I dropped it off with them. The bracket is $35. Why would no one ask me if I wanted to replace it while it's there? Or at the very least disclose the issue? The cherry on top of this whole situation was the cab never needed to come off to begin with. On the 7.3L Powerstroke, you don't even need to remove the cylinder heads for this job. There's a well known tool that only requires you remove the valve cover and injectors, and then the tool can pull the sleeves out through the injector bores. Saving time, and the headache of having all of the extra work/broken parts. If they had replaced the broken parts properly, and had called/emailed me to let me know things had broken, I wouldn't care too much. But the fact that I brought them a truck that drove, shifted, and stopped and got back a truck that only did one of the three well really says something. Overall very dissatisfied with the work. You should see a local mechanic, like JM Automotive, or a different dealer if you need service done. read more

I have been doing business with them for around 15 years and thie last time I went there was horrible. Since November 15 they have had the car all but 2 days and when I finally get it back the new rear tires are nearly flat (17 PSI) and a dent in the fender that the service manager said could be buffed out (A DENT mind you). I said they had to pay to fix it someplace I trusted (no way after he said it could be buffed out were they touching it) and they refuse to pay for the damage while they had it. The manager of the business told me they did not want my business (after buying three cars there) and to get out (a lifelong ford customer mind you) and to get out. Scheduled an appointment online through the Ford App which said Wiscasset Ford was open. However when I showed up for the appointment the service department was closed and I was given no notice of any cancelation for my already scheduled appointment. Even better when I showed up for the appointment there was a sales person driving around a for sale F 150 truck just joy riding around the lot and claimed it was "dumb that I showed up because they're closed" when I said I had an appointment, he just drove off with out a care in the world that I was there. What a joke for a dealership!! I had been looking to trade my GMC AT4 to something a little smaller having just moved to the area. Spotted a Ford Explorer that looked good so I put my trade in to see what it was worth. The appraisal on their own site said it was worth about 60k. I was contacted by someone who wanted to know when we could come it to look at the vehicle. We. Went to the dealership in the pouring rain and were greeted by someone in the corner with a coat over his shoulders that never even stood up.The other people there just stared, talk about creepy! We did a test drive and came back to find our trade was only 50k!!! What a waste of time and the attitude was too bad and don't let the door hit you on the way out!! Don't waste your time here! No smoke and mirrors. No pressure to buy. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and even supportive! from start to finish. From the first call and the test drive, to browsing the car and financing, we had infinite amounts of time/patience while we made up our minds and knew we could walk away if we weren't 100% into the car. If I could give NO stars I would. They put you in these vehicles, and then screws you over when they try to fix it. I have 3 family members that have taken their cars to Wiscasset Ford to be fixed. Each time they have had to bring it back MULTIPLE times because the problems wasn't fixed, done wrong or the parts they order didn't work. They actually ended up buying back one of the cars and putting my family member in a new one because it kept breaking down, while driving, WITH HER CHILD IN THE CAR. They say the parts are under warranty but the labor isn't. All they want to do is make money off of people. Customer service is the absolute worst, and the woman behind the counter, that you have to speak with at first knows NOTHING about what she is TRYING to talk about. I will NEVER EVER send anyone there to get a car, get work done, to even ask for a glass of water. This place is HORRIBLE! OH! And if you want a car fixed and USABLE in any less time than 3-4 weeks... This is NOT the place for ya! read more

Everything about the experience was friendly and low pressure. The staff were all exceedingly polite and helpful, they were eager, but not pushy to help in every way possible. Once we had made a decision, it was accepted and we moved into the sale. Dealer had my car for four hours. I told them to remove a stain on the rear seat, a service that was covered by an extended warranty. When I picked up the car I was told it was done. Stain was still there. The car was put in right away and stain was removed, but I had to wait another 20-30 minutes. The invoice had the instruction to remove the stain, along with the reply from the service tech, "dude, I'm to busy" I felt this was a terrible way to treat a customer, especially one who had made the appointment two weeks in advance, and had left the car there for FOUR HOURS. I purchased a Certified 2016 Ford Mustang from Wiscasset Ford. When I tried to use the rear defroster it didn't work. I had to schedule a service time for Saturday because I live 45 minutes away and I work all week during Wiscasset Ford's repair service hours. After it was inspected I was told that the defroster's "cell" was missing. The technician took pictures to send to Ford and I was assured that they would take care of it at their cost. The following Saturday I returned only to learn that Ford refused to replace the cell, so the only way they would replace it is if I paid for it. I reminded them that this vehicle was "Certified" and the sales manager became angry and accused me of removing the cell. I told him that I had no idea what a rear defroster cell was! The manager became so argumentative that a tech staff apologized to me before I left and said, "he should have never spoken to you that way." Long story short, he flatly refused to replace the cell at his cost violating Ford's certified agreement. When I asked for Wiscasset Ford's owner's name and number, he refused this as well. I will NEVER do business with them again or refer anyone. read more

I appreciate their thorough review of my car problems and do not push me to have unneeded repairs done. They do proactively make some recommendations to me understanding that I am not very knowledgeable, but I do ask many questions. I have never had any complaints with their excellent service. They have always treated me respectfully and always have met the scheduled time for me to have repairs accomplished. Had my Escape in for a scheduled oil change covered by my maintenance plan with Ford. The time to check-in to service completion was smooth and timely. Service staff was professional and customer-oriented. My only problem with the process was that my plan didn't cover a full service oil change such as checking all fluid levels and adding as required, but rather that was extra along with three other recommended services such as rotating tires every 5,000 miles, etc. Customers need to be prepared to make decisions on these other additional services. Cost for oil change was slightly higher than where I get my full service oil change on our other family vehicle. read more

Wiscasset Ford gets my vote for the best customer service. First of all, they took care of my car's issue this afternoon as a walk-in and had it ready in less than an hour. Second, I gave a hug to Jenny, the best service advisor ever, after she discovered it was going to not cost me a penny. Third, as we were wrapping up, she asked about D and that jogged her memory about another customer who was selling a wheelchair accessible van for an awesome price. She even called her to let her know that I'd be in touch. We go back so many years with this dealership and Jenny truly exemplifies going out of one's way to help the customer - she went way beyond the call of duty today, simply because she cares. It was her turn to give me a hug before I left on the hope that the van would work out for D. Today's experience is the reason we've done business with this company for over 40 years.
